The feeling of suffocation grew heavier. I felt that I was about to die soon.

"Sophia!" Suddenly, it was as if I could hear Dexter’s voice.

An inexplicable force pushed my consciousness back into the water. I then erged, sitting up as I gasped for air.

When soone was on the brink of death, they often experienced sothing magical yet indescribable—be it hallucination or sothing real.

I trembled as I looked around, feeling that inexplicable force.

He was here. I knew he had always been here.

"Dexter," I softly called out for him as I hugged myself slowly.

It was as if he was also hugging . I was sure that he was doing that now.

"Sophia!" Joel was pounding on the door outside, while Violette joined in nervously as she urged for soone to break it down.

I stepped out of the bathroom while toweling my hair dry. I tried to play it cool as I saw the panicked expressions on everyone’s face.

"I’m glad that you’re alright. I was so worried!" Violette was teary eyed as she continued, "I thought you were about to do sothing dangerous."

She was worried I might do sothing rash, while the two kids were also concerned I might commit suicide. I calmly smiled and said, "I wouldn’t."

Violette nervously glanced at Zion, as he, too, looked at Eason. It was evident that they felt that sothing was wrong with .

Joel was the only one who wasn’t anxious. He rely looked curiously at , as if he had slled sothing on . "I’m alright. You guys should just head back. Dexter gave up his life in exchange for mine, so I won’t die that easily, "I calmly said, my voice giving nothing away.

They seed to be hesitant, wanting to say sothing but ended up not.

I felt rather irritated, as if every sound around was amplified they all felt too noisy.

The chirpings of insects outside, the white noise from various ho appliances-those sounds that others couldn’t hear felt overwhelmingly loud to .

"Do you want to rest up, Sophia? I’ll stay back with you." Violette nervously stepped forward to comfort .

The glass cup slipped from my hand and shattered. I frowned, my gaze turning sharp at that very mont. "Leave!

I almost couldn’t control my emotions.

Violette was startled by , her breath quickening as she backed away in a hurry, only to be pulled into Zion’s embrace. He frowned and looked at warily.

I looked down at the shattered glass on the floor. My head felt as if it was about to split open.

"I’m sorry," I apologized subconsciously.

I did not know why I was apologizing. They were so noisy, and I wanted them to all leave. "You guys should leave for now. I just need so ti alone."

Zion pulled Violette and said, "Let’s just go back for now. We should give Sophia so space."

Eason nodded and looked at Joel. "You..."

"Just go back for now." Joel calmly ruffled Ashton’s and Xan’s hair. "Please take care of the two kids."

Eason’s eyes were red as he looked at Joel. "Can he co back just like you did?"

Joel glanced at . "Perhaps."

I lowered my head as I picked up the glass shards, ignoring the way my blood was trickling as they cut .

I could feel the actual pain.

My emotions were rich to the point of scaring myself after my soul went through the so-called reincarnation twice. Dexter was truly impressive. He was just too smart for his own good.

I turned to Joel after tossing the shards into the trash can. "Have they all left?"

He nodded. "Damien sent the kids to Eason’s place for now. Now that he has offended Andy, Andy will surely take revenge on him. Although I don’t think he has the ti for that now."

"Tell Carol I want to see her," I lowered my voice and said sowhat threateningly.

"Geno Society has dealt a heavy blow on the Rebels. Carol is now in hiding. She won’t even see ," Joel said helplessly.

Geno Society had planned to wipe out the Rebels completely after using them.

"Now that Andy only has the headquarters’ laboratory left, there is no reason for the Rebels to exist anymore so Carol has to die now." I looked at Joel. "You can’t bring yourself to do it, can you?"

"I know what you’re planning to do," he said with a frown. "Andy’s top bounty target is Carol. You’re planning to hand her over in exchange for either his trust or Dexter’s clone subject. You’re too naive. Even if you kill Carol, Andy wouldn’t"

"This isn’t sothing you should worry about." I found him too noisy. Sohow, the fruit knife was now pressed against his throat.

It was irritating how he was so fussy.

"I" As expected, Joel instantly kept quiet and raised his hands. "I really have no idea where she’s hiding."

I reached out to massage my temples. "I have an idea, but it’s going to be tough on you."

Joel took in a sharp breath, wanting to speak further but dared not to. I had knocked him unconscious by the ti I ca back to my senses.

I looked down at Joel, who was rendered unconscious on the ground. I said apologetically, "Would you believe if I said I’m not doing it on purpose, Dexter?"

He would probably say that he wouldn’t believe , but I couldn’t hear whatever he was saying.

I was using Joel to lure Carol out she would definitely show up.

She was a hopeless lunatic, yet I only recall now that she was actually imitating .

That was because I used to be even more insane than she was.

Joel was hanging upside down from the hoist in the scrapyard, blood dripping down from his hair.

I did not want to resort to this as well, but how would Carol feel heartbroken if I did not hurt him a little? Her brother was her final Achilles’ heel after all.

I hid nearby with a tranquilizer gun set up, waiting for her to fall for the trap.

The Rebels were dealt with heavy blows after Dexter, Joel, and I were caught. They were almost totally wiped out

by Andy, which was why Carol had hidden herself as she waited for an opportunity.

She would definitely show up with luring her out by capturing Joel in Sophia’s na.

As expected, Carol showed up.

She was cautious, letting soone else disguised as her as they drove over from the east. anwhile, she got out early and was slowly making her way over.

I fired the tranquilizer gun, hitting her square in the chest.

Unfortunately, the prey could never outsmart the hunter.

"Get Jimmy to et , Damien. Tell him that Carol is in my hands. If he wants to beg for Andy’s forgiveness, he

better co to within the next 24 hours," I told Damien.

I wanted to strike a deal with Andy using Jimmy and Carol

After Dexter’s death, Andy sealed off the laboratory and relocated everyone. The island was already abandoned by the ti the police got there.

I couldn’t contact him, but Jimmy would definitely be able to.

The world seed to calm down after Geno Society’s headquarters was discovered.

It was as if nothing had ever happened. All of the laboratories were discovered, the dia coverage was suppressed, and everyone went back to their normal lives.

The Rebels were almost wiped out by Andy, leaving Carol as the only hidden risk. anwhile, Geno Society vanished without a trace.

It was as if everything was just a dream.

However, I lost the most important thing during this incident-which was my heart that had just started to beat.

"I’m definitely going. That’s why you should save your breath in trying to persuade --I can’t hear you anyway, "I muttered to myself.

I firmly believed that Dexter was right by my side. Even if I couldn’t see or hear him, he was able to hear talking to him.

I let Carol’s n rescue Joel as I dragged her into the trunk and drove away.

It was ti to settle the scores with Andy.
