Damien scoffed, seemingly mocking Dexter. He believed that Dexter would be wrong and that he was being prideful. Damien stubbornly believed in Juliet.

At that mont, Damien seed pitiful. He was blinded by a one-ti life-saving grace.

"Sophia..."

When the police left to investigate, both Damien and Dexter tried to talk to .

I frowned and stared warily at the two n.

One was the ex-lover whom I had completely forgotten after suffering from amnesia. anwhile, the other was the man that I once stupidly loved after my amnesia.

But the both of them... felt like strangers to .

Damien seed to be regretful, but the attitude he had toward Juliet was ridiculous and ironic. I could see through him.

And it was even more so for Dexter. He was a genius. He could locate the missing Juliet by just looking through the surveillance footage.

It was impossible for him to not have found clues to the serial murder cases, unless the culprit behind the serial murder cases was more intelligent than Dexter or a prodigy like him.

Back in the days of the advanced class, there were only two top prodigies who scored full marks. They were Dexter and Sion. If Sion was alive...

For years after that, no other students in the advanced class could score full marks. Dexter and Sion made records in school history.

"Sophia..." Damien stepped forward. "Juliet would never voluntarily expose herself to danger. She won’t be in the demolition area. These are all deceptions, unless..."

Damien lowered his voice and whispered to , "Unless Dexter planned the entire thing. He got sobody to kidnap Juliet and hypocritically accused soone else for doing that."

I glanced icily at Damien. I noticed his hostility toward Dexter.

"You should mind your own business, Mr. Coleman," I said, backing away.

Feeling hurt, Damien frowned and gazed at , wondering why I did not trust him.

"Have you ever thought of how he might be the mastermind behind the serial murder cases? He arranged for the killers. He’s trying to kill you by taking advantage of the killers."

Beginning to feel upset, I frowned. Damien was getting noisy.

But his words reminded of one thing. If Dexter was the mastermind... nobody would discover the truth.

What if Dexter had planned everything, and soone else executed it—just like how it was illustrated on the wall of evidence in the basent?

There were two question marks. One pointed to the planner, one pointed to the executor.

I wondered if Dexter could have been hesitant to reveal himself.

But if Dexter was responsible for my death yet treated kindly after recognizing and behaved so obediently...

That would be horrifying... and crazy.

"Sophia..." Dexter stood near and softly called my na.

I glanced at him before looking away.

As if knowing that he was at fault, Dexter’s head hung low.

I hated it when people made the wager of a bet. Damien once made a wager in a bet with his friends, and Dexter did the sa this ti...

No matter who ended up winning, I felt very disappointed.

"Found them!"

After a long silence, Phil rushed in to tell us the news.

"We heard sounds of a generator in a soon-to-be demolished building in the demolition zone. Juliet was inside! She was free, and nobody was constraining her. She was in hiding!"

Panting, Phil poured himself a glass of water.

Dexter kept his head low in silence, and he didn’t dare to look at .

On the other hand, Damien’s expression darkened.

He asked, "Was it you?"

He was questioning Dexter.

"You sent sobody to take her there, didn’t you?"

Dexter gazed coldly at Damien.

"You bet, you pay. Are you a coward, Damien? Trying to shift the bla now?" Violette snarled.

"Do you think Juliet is a good person?"

Violette rolled her eyes, then looked at Zion.

"I knew it, Juliet was being a bitch."

Damien angrily pointed at Dexter. "You designed all this."

Dexter was silent, but he glared at Damien with a mocking smirk. Angered, Damien leaned forward to assault Dexter. I stood in front of Dexter to protect him, glaring at Damien.

"Damien Coleman, you bet, you pay. You offered to make a bet, and you lost."

I hoped for Damien to permanently exit my life starting today.

Dexter embraced from behind while his gaze toward Damien beca increasingly cold. "You lost..."

Damien clenched his fists but remained silent. He was holding it in.

Soon, they returned with Juliet.

The police had no right to restrict her freedom while Juliet had the right to go anywhere she wanted. As such, Juliet started to make excuses.

"Sobody told that the killer was targeting . They told to escape and not let anyone discover . I was told that there were clothes hidden in the washroom, and I should escape after putting them on."

Juliet sobbed and continued, "I was afraid... that I would get killed. I was scared to be made into a specin like Sophia Milford and be eternally stuck in a glass display cabinet."

With red eyes, Juliet showed the police a phone number.

"This was the person who sent the ssages."

"And you believed a stranger? What if that was the killer? If we hadn’t found you, you might have died already!" the police berated Juliet.

Crying, Juliet said to Damien, "Damien, you left to et Sophia... I was too scared, and sobody texted . So, I trusted them."

She purposefully glanced at Dexter. "I’m so scared..."

It was obvious that she was starting to put up an act, trying to bla Dexter.

"Was it you?" Damien glared at Dexter and grabbed his collar.

"What would my objective be?" Dexter asked plainly.

"You baited Juliet away on purpose so that I’d panic. Then, you’d help find her and make a bet with , making sure that I’d lose!" Damien growled.

Zion sighed. Even Eason couldn’t bear to listen further.

It was evident that Damien could not win Dexter, be it with his intelligence or debate skills.

When Damien accused Dexter, Dexter did not try to explain himself. Instead, he let Damien describe his objectives. But the more Damien spoke, the more mistakes he made. Everyone knew Damien had suggested making the bet while Dexter had simply agreed.

At that mont, Damien ca to realize it. He glared at Dexter. "You knew that I was going to make a bet with you?"

Damien was not only angry but also surprised. It was as if he finally realized how scary Dexter was.

"I don’t understand what you’re trying to say." Dexter looked at woefully, wanting to defend him.

"Damien, you should go ho with your life savior.

"It’s getting late, don’t disappear again," I said grimly, looking at Juliet with tightly clenched fists.

"All victims of the serial murder case were discovered in rivers. I’m sure there’ll be a nasty river that’s good for the murderer to dispose of your body at..." I scoffed as I stared icily at Juliet.

"You want to be a specin in the glass display cabinet? Who do you think you are?"

Scared, Juliet hid behind Damien. She looked at in fear. "Sophia..."

Dexter panicked just like Juliet. Almost out of reflex, he pulled into his embrace.

He said, "Sophia, my wounds hurt... Let’s go ho, okay?"

I snapped back to my senses and paused. I was surprised to hear what I said earlier...

Eason stared at in confusion, but he didn’t say anything.

I looked at Violette and Zion. I was afraid that they would misunderstand .

I was afraid that they would suspect that I was related to the culprit.

After all, Sofia’s identity was rather special.
