Chapter 678: Chapter 678: Matchmaking for Miaomiao
Tong Yao tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and counter-questioned, "What do you think of Jiang Jun?"
Guo Jinnian responsively answered, "He’s a great guy. When I was abroad, he proved to be hardworking and clever, helping
out a lot. I think he’s really good."
Guo Jinnian had always spoken highly of Jiang Jun. When she was overseas, she would often call Tong Yao and complint her for finding such a good assistant. Having him around made her life easier.
Hearing Guo Jinnian’s high praise for Jiang Jun, Tong Yao smiled and asked, "Would you support Miaomiao if she beca romantically involved with soone she liked?"
Without a second’s hesitation, Guo Jinnian responded, "Of course I would support her. I can’t expect her to end up like , still unmarried at this age, right? Even though I’m not eager to settle down early, I wouldn’t want her to get married too late either. If she t the right person, they should start dating. She’s in her twenties, having a boyfriend and being in a relationship for a year or so is quite normal."
Suppressing her smile, Tong Yao asked, "What if that person happens to be Jiang Jun?"
"If that person was Jiang Jun, that would be even better..."
Halfway through her sentence, it’s as though she suddenly realized sothing and her eyes widened unbelievably, "Yaoyao, what did you just say? Did you say that Miaomiao likes Jiang Jun?"
What’s going on here? How co she wasn’t aware of such a big news???
Miaomiao hadn’t ntioned it to her.
Tong Yao explained with a laugh, "Don’t get too excited, it’s just that I heard Jiang Jun frequents our shop to drink milk tea which aroused my suspicion, and also I felt today that Miaomiao might be sowhat fond of Jiang Jun. That’s why I wanted to ask your thoughts, since you are her sister and the next best thing to an elder while your parents are away."
Initially, she was worried that Guo Jinnian might disapprove of Miaomiao and Jiang Jun dating. But after listening to Jinnian, it put her mind at ease.
Guo Jinnian quickly replied, "Of course I won’t object. I even thought about introducing Miaomiao to Jiang Jun before, only thing that stopped
was the fear of her thinking I was intruding too much into her love life, so I didn’t say anything. I can’t believe they developed feelings for each other. My younger sister never fails to make
proud. She sure knows how to pick ’em."
The more Guo Jinnian said it, the happier she beca. She wished she could arrange the wedding for the two of them right away.
Jiang Jun is a decent guy. She knew him inside out and also he had no parents. She wouldn’t have to worry about Miaomiao marrying into a faraway place in the future.
Jiang Jun would value the family after experiencing life without one.
"I’m glad you don’t object. So guy likes Miaomiao, and visits everyday to get milk tea. I wished to seize the opportunity to arrange a match for her." Tong Yao stated her intention.
Guo Jinnian laughed heartily: "That’ll work. Miaomiao is better off than ; she’s got soone who’s interested in her. She will definitely get married before ."
Tong Yao laughed, teasing, "You better start trying harder."
Guo Jinnian sighed heavily, "There are so many young girls out there, how am I supposed to compete? Am I supposed to force Hongwei to marry ? It’s not like I can’t find anyone else."
She said it like that, but Guo Jinnian sotis really wanted to push Gu Hongwei to take a step. Although, she only thought about it.
Tong Yao didn’t pursue the topic of Guo Jinnian and Gu Hongwei’s relationship any further, "As long as you’re okay with it, I’ll call Jiang Jun now and have him co over tomorrow."
If he and Miaomiao truly like each other, getting them involved in tomorrow’s situation will certainly escalate their feelings.
Jiang Jun indeed is not bad, and Tong Yao feels that he and Miaomiao are quite fitting. However, this is only her opinion, what matters is what the pair actually thinks.
She can only assist them as much as she can.
"You should call Jiang Jun and ask him to co by earlier tomorrow." Guo Jinnian was even more anxious. "Jiang Jun is quite accomplished despite his young age. Several girls in the firm are interested in him. We should make a move promptly, just to be safe. Otherwise, both our n might be taken away from us, despite being the first to et them."
If soone takes away her man, so be it, but they definitely don’t want Miaomiao’s man to be taken away as well. If both their n were stolen, wouldn’t it be a big loss?
Tong Yao laughed at Guo Jinnian’s logic, "Alright, got it. I’m going to call Jiang Jun."
Tong Yao grabbed her phone from the table and dialed. Cellphones were quite outdated and had been introduced to China just a couple of years ago. Not many people had one, this group of friends, however, included cellphones.
"Hello, Sister Yaoyao."
The phone rang twice before Jiang Jun picked up.
Guo Jinnian was making faces at him while Tong Yao tried to suppress her laughter, "Jiang Jun, are you free tomorrow?"
"Sister Yaoyao, I’m free tomorrow. Just tell
what you need." Jiang Jun had always been grateful to Tong Yao for her ntorship. He wouldn’t be where he was today if not for her. That’s why he respected Tong Yao greatly. In his and Liu Sanwa’s eyes, Tong Yao was even more important than their own sisters.
The two weren’t very expressive, but they always vie with one another to help whenever it ca to matters concerning Tong Yao.
Tong Yao couldn’t help but chuckle at Jiang Jun’s willingness to go the extra mile, "Don’t sound so serious. I’m not asking you to do anything big. Apparently a guy seems to like Miaomiao and he’s been coming over quite often for milk tea. Miaomiao isn’t interested in him and she wants to reject him tactfully."
"So, we ca up with an idea, thinking it’s best to have soone pretend to be Miaomiao’s boyfriend. And considering that Miaomiao works at the milk tea shop daily and doesn’t know many people, it seed to
that you are the perfect fit. What do you think?"
When Jiang Jun heard that soone was after Guo Miaomiao, his nervousness grew imdiately. Hearing that they needed him to pretend to be her boyfriend, without giving it further thought, he imdiately replied, "I think it’s not a bad idea, Sister Yaoyao. I’ll be there in the morning if it suits you."
Even if it involved pretending, or if he had to act as her boyfriend, he was willing to do it. How he wished for it to happen.
Tong Yao barely managing to keep her laughter in said, "Don’t rush. You can co over tomorrow afternoon. He always visits in the afternoon. Just have lunch here, and stay at the shop for a while in the afternoon."
Jiang Jun promised promptly, "Alright, I’ll go over to your place tomorrow afternoon."
After hanging up, Guo Jinnian couldn’t wait to ask, "Did Jiang Jun agree? And was he willing? I haven’t been keeping track of what’s happening in his life recently. I need to dig a bit deeper to find out. If he indeed likes Miaomiao, it’s better for both to confess their feelings for each other. There’s no need to drag it on."
Tong Yao, however, didn’t agree with Guo Jinnian’s views, "It’s best not to rush. The most precious phase of love is when you haven’t entirely figured out the other person’s feelings. This feeling is the most morable, so let nature take its course."
