Chapter 484: Chapter 484: Have We Entered a Slaughterhouse?
Shi Yan said, "I just want you to know that I’m doing all of this for you. I am the most suitable person for you, the one who will make your life better."
Lin Man scowled and said, "If you really care about
and want to improve my life, then earn more money. We all live in a shabby house, and I’m more than fed up."
Seeing Lin Man’s annoyed face and her focus on money, Shi Yan didn’t continue to bare his heart. "Don’t worry! We will buy a house sooner or later. Go back ho for now, while I go get the goods."
Lin Man had accompanied him when he viewed the goods before, so she already knew where to collect them. Thus, she did not know whether she should go with Shi Yan this ti or not.
After they parted ways, Lin Man did not go ho. Instead, she went to the mall. She hadn’t gone shopping in a few days, and this ti, she was sure that she could make so money. With more flexibility in her budget, she could buy new clothes. For now, she could at least look out for new products.
Three days later.
Tong Yao and Guo Jinnian appeared at the Railway Station, each dragging a large sack. Guo Jinnian looked more like a young man than before, while Tong Yao dressed herself up to appear like a country woman for added authenticity. She even intentionally bought a blue headscarf and wrapped it around her head.
"Yaoyao, this thing you bought is truly useful. It doesn’t tire
out at all to drag this around." Despite his strength, Guo Jinnian found it heavy to carry a full bag. But now, with the tal fra Tong Yao bought, he could save a lot of effort.
Tong Yao laughed, her eyes curved in delight. "I nad it the ’Lazy Person’s Mobile Rack.’"
Guo Jinnian exaggeratedly said, "Don’t smile at people like that on the train. You’re too captivating."
Truth be told, Tong Yao was really beautiful. Even when purposely disguising herself, her eyes and facial features remained unchanged. Her eyes were too bright, especially when she laughed. Even as a woman herself, Lin Man found her heart skipping a beat.
"I’ve already made preparatory asures." Tong Yao took out a pair of black-frad glasses from her pocket and put them on. "How do I look now, even more rustic?"
Initially, Tong Yao even thought of wearing a face mask, but no one wore masks on the streets during that era. Wearing one would make her stand out more and attract more attention.
Guo Jinnian spoke truthfully, "You do look more rustic, but your features are still attractive."
But Tong Yao wasn’t concerned, "No need to worry. When we get there, I’ll keep my head low. On such a crowded train, we won’t stand out, and people will easily overlook us."
As they chatted, they hauled their goods into the railway station. Just as their figures disappeared into the crowd, Shi Yan and Lin Man erged from around the corner.
"They indeed took the sa train as us." Lin Man glared hatefully at the spot where Tong Yao had disappeared.
Shi Yan narrowed his eyes ominously, "Since she dares to go, I’ll make sure she doesn’t co back."
Having said that, he turned back to look at the man standing behind him, "Did you rember what they look like?"
One of the n with a scar on his face nodded, "I rember."
Shi Yan instructed, "Keep an eye on which carriage they enter. After boarding the train, wait near them for the right mont, and do as I told you."
The scar-faced man nodded.
Lin Man frowned in worry and pulled Shi Yan aside, "Where did you find these n? Why do they look so nacing?"
"Soone else found them for . They’re reliable. Don’t worry! It’s precisely these nacing guys who can take ruthless action." Shi Yan reassured, "Once we’re on the train, all you need to do is sleep. Don’t worry about anything else."
Lin Man had set off today looking all pretty. However, Shi Yan not only made her change into n’s clothing but also insisted that she cut her hair. As much as Lin Man loved her hair, the seriousness of the situation from Shi Yan and the way the girl accompanying Tong Yao was dressed made her grit her teeth and cut her hair.
Although she still looked like a girl, she no longer attracted as much attention as before.
If this path was successful, what was cutting her hair short?

anwhile.
After finishing his work at the Breeding Farm, Gu Hongwei went directly to the milk tea shop as soon as he returned to Kyoto. The business in the shop was as good as Tong Yao had ntioned, but Tong Yao was not there.
Deng Wenwen and the other worker were so busy that they barely noticed Gu Hongwei’s arrival. It was only after Wenwen finished collecting the milk tea money that he asked, "Wenwen, where’s Yaoyao?"
"Ah?"
Upon hearing the familiar voice, Wenwen looked up. She was stunned for a mont before recognizing that the man in front of her was actually Gu Hongwei. Her heart was filled with surprise and joy.
"Hongwei, when did you co back? Why do you look like this? I almost didn’t recognize you."
Gu Hongwei hadn’t co back in several months since the establishnt of the Breeding Farm, so Wenwen’s impression of him was still from several months ago when he was a refined and artistic young man.
Now, looking at Gu Hongwei again, she didn’t know what to say.
Gu Hongwei’s beard was scruffy, his skin was much darker, his hair was longer than Guo Jinnian’s, and it almost reached his shoulders. If his clothing weren’t still neat and clean, she would have thought a beggar had wandered in off the street.
Did Gu Hongwei go to a Breeding Farm?
Or, did he go to an abattoir?
Feeling a little embarrassed by Wenwen’s comnts, Gu Hongwei laughed and said, "I’ve been busy recently and didn’t have ti to spruce myself up."
Wenwen nodded and responded, "I can tell."
"Where’s Yaoyao?" Gu Hongwei asked again.
Wenwen’s face changed slightly, she evasively said, "Yao, Sister Yaoyao? She might be at ho!"
Gu Hongwei nodded, turned around, and was about to leave to find Tong Yao.
Upon seeing this, Wenwen suddenly panicked and quickly called out to stop him, "Um... I just rembered wrong. Sister Yaoyao seems to be busy with sothing. I am not sure where she went."
Wenwen was anxious. Tong Yao had just set off for a foreign country that day, and Gu Hongwei had arrived. Even if she managed to deceive Gu Hongwei for now, she wouldn’t be able to keep the ruse for long!
If Gu Hongwei still couldn’t find Yaoyao tomorrow, it would indeed cause suspicion.
Gu Hongwei saw that Wenwen was hiding sothing from him and beca serious, "Wenwen, did sothing happen to Yaoyao?"
"No... no, Sister Yaoyao is fine and nothing will happen to her. Yes, nothing will happen to Sister Yaoyao."
Wenwen was guilty and was talking nonsensically. In fact, she was also afraid that sothing would happen to Tong Yao, but she couldn’t persuade her. Tong Yao and Guo Jinnian were set on making big money and didn’t listen to her at all.
Wenwen had no choice but to hope for their safe return.
Seeing her reaction, Gu Hongwei beca even more convinced that Wenwen was keeping sothing from him. He sternly said, "Wenwen, tell
the truth. Has sothing happened to Yaoyao? Where is she now?"
She didn’t... she didn’t have any accidents. Sister Yaoyao told
not to speak." Wenwen was torn inside, not knowing whether she should speak or not.
"What can’t she tell ?" Gu Hongwei suspected that Tong Yao was doing sothing dangerous and tentatively said, "Is Yaoyao hiding sothing from us?"
He was very sure that Tong Yao was doing sothing that neither Tong Yaohui nor Wen Yun knew about, or else Wenwen wouldn’t be acting like this.
