Chapter 26: Chapter 26 Finding a House 1

"What’s stopping you?" Li iyu’s voice was hoarse from crying, she said bitterly, "He almost started to beat

himself."

"Dr. Si has just experienced a woman’s love for the first ti, he’s lost his mind, and surely is treating Tong Yao like a precious gem. If you didn’t live here, you wouldn’t know how much noise they make at night. They practically shake the bed. I can’t get any sleep..." Chen Yani, unfazed by the circumstances, seized the opportunity to badmouth Tong Yao, even though Tong Yao had not offended her. They hadn’t even t formally or talked. Chen Yani just couldn’t stand her. You could say it’s jealousy.

In the residential area, which woman isn’t busy with housework and taking care of her kids, wishing she could split in two? Soone like Li iyu, who doesn’t have kids, at least has to go to work. Only Tong Yao doesn’t do any housework, she’s like a privileged old lady, thinking she’s here to enjoy a life of luxury.

Two of the teachers present were still unmarried. Hearing these words, they blushed with embarrassnt. Even Li Nuanchun found it hard to listen. She and Chen Yani would share vulgar jokes in private, but that’s when there weren’t many people around!

Now there were six or seven people, and Chen Yani didn’t hold back at all.

Li iyu spat out in disgust, swearing, "What a shaless woman, wondering which hole Dr. Si picked her up from."

Even though she’s a doctor, it’s inappropriate to say such things. Mr. Wang, who was standing by, felt that Li iyu’s swearing was a bit excessive. To him, it was just a trivial argunt between won. Nobody else said a word, so he didn’t think it appropriate to speak up either.

"Has everyone arrived?" When Liu Haisheng returned ho and saw so many people, he was taken aback. He had forgotten his wife had ntioned inviting her work colleagues for dinner. He initially didn’t want to agree. There were no pots or stoves here, entertaining guests would require purchasing food from outside. It would cost a lot, but he couldn’t resist his wife’s pleading and flirting, so he reluctantly agreed. Even though he wasn’t happy about it, since the guests had arrived, he had to greet them with a smile.

Seeing Liu Haisheng co ho, Li Nuanchun, afraid of getting involved in the escalating situation, quickly excused herself. Chen Yani, who loved to stir up and gossip about trouble, wasn’t stupid. Obviously, she could watch the fight from the sidelines. Who’d want to get into muddy waters? Holding her child, she ran away even faster than Li Nuanchun.

Liu Haisheng stepped inside and noticed that Li iyu’s eyes were red from crying. He couldn’t help but find it strange, "What’s wrong? And why have you been crying?"

"You have the nerve to ask, you have no idea how I’ve been bullied." Seeing her husband return, Li iyu felt even more aggrieved, crying even harder.

Since Li iyu’s colleagues were there, it wasn’t appropriate for Liu Haisheng to console his wife, so he just patiently asked, "What happened?"

"Teacher Li and Dr. Si from next door had an argunt..." The one speaking was Teacher Zhu. Seeing Li iyu crying until her voice was hoarse, she decided to tell the whole story on Li iyu’s behalf. By the end, she added fuel to the fire, "Not to be rude, but Dr. Si’s wife is really arrogant. Not only does Dr. Si not restrain her, but he even helps her bully others. It’s too much."

After hearing the whole story, Liu Haisheng’s eyebrows were furrowed, clearly not expecting that Si Chen’s wife had an argunt with his own wife. Si Chen was just a doctor who had been working in the hospital for a year. How could he cause trouble with them?

Although he thought so, considering Tong Yao just arrived, if they both quarreled with her now, it would look bad if rumors spread that they were bullying Tong Yao, especially since she and her husband were young.

With these thoughts in mind, Liu Haisheng could only pat his wife’s shoulder to comfort her. Li iyu had settled down sowhat, her tears finally stopping. Everyone tidied up the table and started eating the food they had brought from outside.

anwhile, Si Chen had just finished cooking. The two of them sat around the newly bought small table, enjoying the breeze from the fan. Tong Yao ate the food Si Chen had prepared with ease. His skills were excellent, with dishes like Stir-fried at with Chili and shredded potato stir-fry both looking and tasting good. They were even better than restaurant food. Tong Yao felt so full that she found it difficult to bend over. Since coming to this life, it was the most satisfying al she had.

Si Chen turned the fan towards the bed where Tong Yao was, "I’ll do the cleaning, you can take a nap."

"Thank you." Tong Yao swore she wasn’t really lazy. It’s just that she had eaten so much that her stomach was uncomfortable. Also, with an injured arm, she couldn’t do much chores.

Si Chen carried the dishes to the kitchen to wash. He was halfway done when Liu Haisheng ca in to wash his hands. Si Chen greeted him as usual, and Liu reciprocated politely. Both of them didn’t ntion their wives’ argunt, acting as if nothing had happened.

After washing the dishes, Si Chen ca back to the room to see Tong Yao asleep. He gently closed the door and went to the office to read. Hearing the closing door, Tong Yao slightly opened her eyes, confird that Si Chen wasn’t in the room, and then sat up, letting out a sigh of relief.

Honestly, lying in the sa bed at night wasn’t too bad. Once the lights were turned off and everything was dark, it was okay to just close her eyes and wait for sleep. But during the day, it was way too awkward. Most importantly, Si Chen was too handso. With his rosy lips, bright teeth, shining eyes and unique charm, he wouldn’t lose to the Four Heavenly Kings. Sleeping next to such a breathtaking man was impossible for her!

Thinking of Si Chen’s perfect profile, Tong Yao couldn’t sleep after all, and started to think about ways to earn money. She had made up her mind to set up a stall in front of the school. However, deciding what to sell beca a headache. She didn’t know how to make snacks. Things like toys wouldn’t sell well among students since their spending power wasn’t strong, especially compared to students of the 21st century.

After much consideration, Tong Yao decided to sell milk tea. In her past life, she had seen on Weibo that milk tea was mostly made from additives. So, she learned how to make milk tea online. The thod was simple, and the taste wasn’t bad. If priced right, the sales could be significant.

The problem was selling milk tea required lots of milk and water, as well as a stove to cook the tea. She couldn’t do it daily in the residential compound, and transportation would be a hassle as well. If only she could find a place near the school to store things.

Thinking this, Tong Yao couldn’t sit still any longer, put on her shoes, and left the house. When she was passing Li iyu’s door, she felt an unfriendly gaze, but she didn’t give it any thought and went straight downstairs.

The residential area was neither near nor far from the school; it took more than twenty minutes to walk. The road from the hospital to the school wasn’t as bustling as the other road to the city center. This was a residential area, with very few shops along the road. A few minutes away from the school, Tong Yao was attracted by the noise coming from a house by the road, and subconsciously slowed down.
