Chapter 220: Chapter 220 Completion of Marital Duties Article 1.

"Alright."

Si Chen held her little hand as they walked along the roadside. "I visited my parents the other day and they were thrilled to know that I am working here. You rest for a day, and I will take you to see them the day after," he said. "You probably haven’t seen them in a while."

Tong Yao feigned anger and retorted, "They are the ones who married

off so far. They should experience what it feels like to miss their daughter."

Si Chen chuckled softly. A glimpse at his upturned mouth would reveal that his mood was lifted. The two hailed a taxi and went straight to a noodle shop near Si Chen’s residence. Tong Yao was indeed hungry, wolfing down a large bowl of fried sauce noodles.

When they left the noodle shop, it was already dark outside. Walking hand in hand under the street lamps, they were occasionally surrounded by young couples strolling along the roadside. This made Tong Yao felt like she was a girl freshly in love, heart bounding with excitent.

The atmosphere was filled with a flirtatious vibe. Blushing, Tong Yao looked sideways at him, "So, where are we staying now? Is it in the staff quarter?"

Si Chen replied calmly, "Finding a house near the hospital is tricky, so we will have to stay in the staff quarter for now. But it’s more convenient than Li City. A living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom, all separate, no sharing with anyone else. Most of the staff mbers are typically busy with work during the day, we won’t bump into them often. It’s alright if you don’t want to interact with them."

In terms of economic scale, Kyoto and Li city are world apart. It’d be tough to find an available rental within the three ring roads, Tong Yao understood this, hence it didn’t co as surprise.

As Si Chen had put it, very few doctors’ families here have the mom stay at ho parenting full ti. Living in Kyoto, a high cost of living city, nearly all families have both parents working. Even though doctors earn a decent salary, it’s rather laborious to support a family single-handedly.

People here are rather realistic. They require potential partners to have a decent education and stable job, so that forming a new family wouldn’t be so tiring and life could get better.

Tong Yao felt as though she had jumped straight from a slow-paced retirent life into the fast-paced era of the young. She was filled with a desire to strive hard. She sighed, "The staff’s families at your hospital are all so competitive, If I don’t buckle down soon, I won’t know how to interact with those sisters-in-law."

"You don’t need to put too much pressure on yourself." Si Chen’s grip on Tong Yao’s hand tightened slightly.

The place they were staying was a house around the corner of the staff quarter’s staircase on the second floor. Since it was night ti, there weren’t many people outside, but the lights in every house were on and sporadically, the sound of children’s laughter could be heard.

Before Tong Yao’s arrival, Si Chen had already brought all the daily necessities needed for the house. Knowing that Tong Yao liked baby blue, he even specially bought a set of baby blue bed sheets. Tong Yao took a look around the room and couldn’t help grinning when she noticed the baby blue sheets.

Si Chen put the suitcase on the stool and then walked over to Tong Yao saying, "I only bought so necessities. You take a look and see if there is anything missing. We can buy it tomorrow."

"We don’t lack anything for now. I just feel a little weird after sitting in the car all day, I’ll take a shower first." Tong Yao opened the suitcase, took out a set of pajamas, and headed to the bathroom.

After showering, she felt much fresher as the soap had replaced the sll of sweat on her body. The entire room was filled with the fragrance of soap. Si Chen had been waiting outside the bathroom with a hairdryer. When he saw her coming out, he gestured for her to co over so he could dry her hair.

His big hand repeatedly ran through Tong Yao’s hair, creating this feeling that every move he made was touching her heart. Just thinking about what was going to happen next made her cheeks flush uncontrollably.

Si Chen seed a bit flustered too. After drying Tong Yao’s hair, he bent down to dig through the cupboard for clothes, and never made any eye contact with her the whole ti.

"I’m going to take a shower, you can go to bed if you’re tired. If you get sleepy, just go to sleep first."

Hearing him suggest she should go to sleep, Tong Yao blurted out in a whiny tone, "I’m not sleepy, I’ll wait for you."

As soon as the words were out of her mouth, she almost bit off her own tongue in regret. Did she sound a bit desperate?

Whatever, she didn’t care anymore.

They have been married for almost four months. The wedding was held, the marriage certificate was received, yet they hadn’t consummated their marriage. Tonight, she would sleep with Si Chen and fulfill her first matrimonial obligation.

Tong Yao hopped into bed boldly after removing her shoes. Glancing at the Donald Duck print on her pajamas, she suddenly regretted not being better prepared. She should have bought sothing sexier. This sleepwear looked like it was sothing a child would wear, Si Chen would find it appealing, she thought.

The sound of water from the bathroom ca to an abrupt halt, causing Tong Yao’s heart to skip a beat. She quickly positioned herself comfortably on the flat back, but finding it too awkward, she turned on her side to face the inside of the bed.

Approximately a minute later, the bathroom door made a sound, and she then heard Si Chen’s voice nearing the bedside. He seed to pause for a second, then the room abruptly plunged into darkness.

Si Chen leaned back on the bed, he glanced at Tong Yao for a mont before asking softly, "Have you fallen asleep?"

His voice slightly muffled, as if he had just woken up, making him sound even more enchanting. At that mont, Tong Yao felt as if Si Chen was a charming sorcerer amid the night, brimming with allure.

She tried to say "no
