Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Rescue 3

"Tong Yao, what are you doing here?"

Upon seeing Tong Yao, Yu Shiya looked at her with perplexity, eyebrows knitted as tightly as a hemp rope. Everyone had noticed yesterday morning that Tong Yao’s house had suddenly been cleared out, no one knew where she had moved to.

Yu Zhengxiong blad himself for a long ti, feeling his words had been too harsh, wrongfully accusing Tong Yao, which made her move away. He never expected that Tong Yao would appear in Qing City.

Looking at Tong Yao’s bedraggled appearance, covered in dust and disheveled, clearly arriving before them. Did she think she could play the doctor and save people’s lives just because she learned a bit of knowledge from Si Chen?

The few people following Yu Shiya also showed shocked expressions. Tong Yao must have rabbit legs for she outrun them and arrived in Qing City first.

They should know, the hospital, having realized how serious the earthquake in Qing City was, held an ergency eting and imdiately dispatched so energetic young doctors and nurses. They left at noon and arrived by evening. They rested in the car for a night, and set out just as dawn was breaking. And yet, Tong Yao arrived before them.

Did she grow wings?

She doesn’t even know how to treat people, so what is she doing here?

"Of course I’m here for the rescue operations, what else, a vacation?"

Tong Yao, having co back to her senses, squatted down, and continued bandaging the leg of a child nearby. This child’s leg got tripped off a big chunk of skin; the blood had already solidified on the wound. They appeared to have suffered a great deal of shock as they’d been rather silent, not even crying out in pain since the mont Gu Hongwei had sent him over.

"Doctor, please save her. Her chest was crushed, and we don’t know if her internal organs are damaged. She’s lost consciousness."

Zhou Shi’an suddenly rushed in carrying a female victim, anxiously explaining her condition.

"Quickly, put her down."

Yu Shiya didn’t have ti to deal with Tong Yao anymore. She instructed and imdiately opened the dical box to treat the victim.

A man ran in from outside, stood at the entrance of the tent and called anxiously, "Doctor, please co here. Soone is trapped under the slab, bleeding heavily. He’s in a very critical condition."

Upon hearing this, Si Jun imdiately said to Yu Shiya, "Shiya, I will go over and handle it, you stay here."

The woman lying on the ground began to cough up blood. It was obvious that her internal organs were damaged and her condition was extrely critical. Yu Shiya couldn’t take care of anything else and just responded, "Be careful."

With an affirmative response, Si Jun wore a serious expression and said to Guo Nan, "Guo Nan, go with . Qian Niannian, stay here."

After saying that, carrying the dical box, he followed the man out, Guo Nan hurriedly followed.

They brought a total of ten people this ti. They encountered many victims on the way. The others stayed halfway to continue the rescue, leaving only the four of them. The situation in Qing City was far worse than they had anticipated. Looking at this scenario, the dical equipnt and drugs they brought couldn’t possibly be enough.

Like the girl in front of them, although Yu Shiya had tried her hardest, she could only watch as her body gradually grew cold. If they had been in a hospital, there might have been hope of saving her. In a crude place like this, they simply couldn’t treat victims with severe internal injuries.

There were more than a dozen people in the tent. Everyone seed to have beco numb, rely moving their gaze to the side with regret. No one cried out, so people were even sound asleep.

Unable to save the patient, Yu Shiya seed sowhat dispirited, her expression sadden as she covered the girl’s body with white cloth. Qian Niannian’s eyes turned red, muttering, "She’s so young to just die like this, it’s pitiful."

As soon as she finished speaking, there was no echo. Looking at the victims inside the tent who were still sleeping with their eyes closed, and Tong Yao, who looked unperturbed, she accused, "How ruthless! Can you just sleep with dead people around you? Are your hearts made of stone?"

Tong Yao, who had just finished bandaging the child’s leg, paused and turned to look at Qian Niannian.

"Before accusing others of being cold-hearted, get your facts straight first. Didn’t you see their hands are raw from the work? They were rescuing people for over ten hours despite their own injuries, and only allowed themselves a brief mont of rest when they couldn’t stand it anymore. Is it necessary to make a scene in order to not be considered cold-blooded? Do you think you are holy for coming to help? They may not be wearing white, but they have saved so many people despite their own pain and loss. Did you see that?"

"I..." Qian Niannian’s face went crimson. She couldn’t co up with a response for a mont, then finally murmured, "I...I didn’t know they’d been rescuing people for that long."

Tong Yao coldly replied, "If you don’t know, then shut your mouth and do what you need to do."

"..."

Qian Niannian gritted her teeth in anger but she realized she was at fault and couldn’t rebut.

Yu Shiya stared deeply at Tong Yao and then left the tent. After discussing with others, they freed up a tent specifically for treating victims whose lives were in danger. Everyone agreed, and they set up a single tent for Yu Shiya.

Tong Yao carried on without her, moving between tents to bandage and clean wounds. She was often chided by Qian Niannian for not doing a good job. Eventually, after being scolded by Tong Yao, she finally quieted down.

The food they brought had run out and they didn’t know when supplies would arrive. Everyone could only push through their fatigue.

The area affected by the earthquake was large and the disaster was severe. Despite many rescue teams being dispatched from various places, it was like a drop in the bucket to the current situation in Qing City. It wasn’t until the second day that people arrived with supplies. They brought good news: two kiloters to the South there was a temporary shelter with many disaster relief tents, adequate dical equipnt and doctors. Severely injured victims would be transferred there for treatnt. The injured ones moved there would get better treatnt.

Tong Yao, who was in the middle of eating a stead bun, caught this, could Si Chen be there too?

As soon as the thought struck her, she heard Qian Niannian say in a weird tone: "Tong Yao, you ca to find Dr. Si, didn’t you? He must be over there, and you’ll see him when you go there later."

She had seen many people who were sickeningly sweet after getting married, but she had never seen one who would chase to the center of an earthquake. A person who was good for nothing, bandaging a few wounds here, and dared to regard herself as equal to these dical personnel; it was laughable.

Yu Shiya and Si Jun glanced at Tong Yao at the sa ti, as did Gu Hongwei from the other side. Tong Yao calmly swallowed the stead bun in her mouth, washing it down with half a bottle of water. Once her throat didn’t feel so dry and uncomfortable, she glanced at Qian Niannian.

"If eating can’t shut your mouth, you could go and help the children in the tent to use the bathroom."

The earthquake was severe and a lot of children who didn’t understand things were unable to find their family mbers. Currently, they were all taken care of by them. So children didn’t even know how to undress to defecate, they needed help with this, Qian Niannian disliked doing this. Occasionally when she did it, her face was filled with disgust.

Tong Yao knew this, and thus deliberately used words to choke her off.

Qian Niannian gritted her teeth in anger, but grunted and succumbed.
