Niannian smiled and tapped Xu Sisi’s head: "Of course I won’t forget you."
The old lady jokingly remarked to Xu Sisi: "You little dark girl."
Sisi stomped her foot: "Grandma, I’m not dark anymore, I’m as fair as Sister Niannian now. If you say I’m dark, then you’re saying Sister Niannian is dark too."
"Pah, always flattering yourself. Just like your good-for-nothing father, no real skills but quick to boast."
The old lady scolded Sisi while straightening her collar: "Look at you, so ugly, not even half as good looking as your grandpa."
Suddenly complinted, Xu Wentian laughed until his eyes crinkled.
Sisi looked up and saw her grandpa’s wrinkled face, instantly horrified. Was she really that ugly?
The old lady adored teasing Sisi, seeing her jump around was like watching her troubleso old second son.
Niannian knew the usual dynamic between the old lady and Sisi, both helpless and amused.
Elder Master Jin, still in the backyard, heard Gao Lihong’s voice and shuffled out with his cane to check.
"Oh, you’re here too?" the old lady asked disdainfully.
Elder Master Jin imdiately choked: "You co to my house and ask that? Old Xu, you should keep your wife in check."
Xu Wentian calmly glanced at him, then wrapped his long arm around Gao Lihong, pulling her close: "Don’t mind him, being ugly is pitiable enough."
Elder Master Jin: "..."
Hey, what made him think Xu Wentian would choose friends over love?
Gao Lihong, amused by her own husband, played along: "I’ll listen to you. He’s ugly, not worth my ti."
The old lady was still upset about Elder Master Jin’s past sneaky chess wins against her.
By afternoon, Jin Yu and Jin Ruiyang rushed back from the base.
Ruiyang originally planned to change clothes and head to the Xu Family, but was surprised to see Sisi there too.
In the evening, the family gathered in the living room, chatting and laughing, trying to ease Niannian and Sisi’s anxiety.
Words of encouragent and consolation filled the air.
Originally, Niannian felt no pressure, but after everyone’s words, she suddenly got a bit nervous.
Sisi was also very anxious.
So anxious she couldn’t even eat.
Sitting alone on the side, Ruiyang went over to comfort her, but she refused.
"Brother Ruiyang, don’t co near , let be for a while."
She feared more words of comfort from Ruiyang would only make her more nervous.
She was already sowhat anxious, and everyone’s encouragent only intensified it uncontrollably.
Ruiyang also feared that too much encouragent might add more pressure.
After all, encouragent and comfort can often add to a student’s psychological burden before exams.
So even though Ruiyang was worried, he had to give her so space.
But the next mont, Ruiyang felt a gust blow past him, as Gao Lihong energetically rushed over to Sisi and slapped her on the head.
"Everyone’s eating dinner, why are you sulking?"
"Oww." Sisi held her head in pain, tears welling up as she looked at the old lady: "Grandma, I have exams tomorrow, what if you hit dumb?"
The old lady snorted loudly: "You still think you’re clever?"
Sisi was speechless: "At this ti, you’re still teasing ."
"Who else would I tease if not you?"
Sisi chuckled despite herself: "Then go tease Sister Niannian."
The old lady grinned, eyes crinkling: "Grandma wouldn’t bear to. Your sister is clever, not like you, silly."
Sisi imdiately bristled: "Grandma, that’s not fair, praising Sister Niannian while stepping on ."
The old lady chuckled, covering her mouth: "Grandma enjoys it, not much you can do."
Sisi looked resigned: "..."
Yet so of her tension eased. Curious, Sisi asked: "Grandma, if I fail, will you mind that your granddaughter isn’t a university student?"
The old lady seriously shook her hand: "That’s not how you put it. Grandma has two granddaughters. Whether the older one gets in or not, Grandma won’t mind. As for the younger one..."
She paused a second, smacked her lips, and looked slyly at Sisi: "Whether the younger one gets in or not, I will mind."
Sisi was shocked!
With a yell, she pounced on the old lady: "Grandma, you’re biased!"
The old lady caught her with a laugh: "You’ll break your grandma’s back."
Sisi quickly sat up, nervously asking: "Grandma, are you alright?"
"Of course I’m fine." The old lady declared boldly: "Grandma’s back can’t break except by your grandpa."
Sisi seed to hear so scandalous secret, looking slyly at the old lady: "Grandma, aren’t you ashad, acting so naughty at your age."
The old lady slapped Sisi on the head again: "Grandma ant when she was young."
Sisi giggled, covering her head.
"Grandma, I sincerely request sothing from you." Sisi bead, trying to win the old lady’s favor.
The old lady glanced at her: "Out with it."
