David joined them at the table. "What is funny? Let in on the joke." A smile tugged on his face, pleased that Arrow and Phoebe were getting along just fine. Arrow was a very difficult person to please and he rarely allowed people get close to him.
Phoebe becoming his friend was a great thing because he could be extra magical backup for her.
"That is between Phoebe, I and raven yin." Arrow told him, making another attempt to sip his liquor which failed because it was sweet. Making a twisted disgusted face, he asked, "What brand of liquor is this?"
"It's liqueur, not liquor." Phoebe told him. "And it's my brand; there is plenty more at my farm if you want it. My farm manager had the brilliant idea of making so farm made brew and this was the result." She looked around and saw many guests refilling their glasses.
They were getting it from barrels that were lined up near the exit of the gardens. The guests loved it so much that a short line had ford as they waited to refill their glasses.
"See, you are the only one that has a bad word to say about it." Phoebe shrugged,
Arrow took a deep breath and tentatively took another sip. Three sips in and he declared that it was not so bad. Sylvester who was enjoying it to the maximum rolled his eyes and vanished into the space for more.
As for the rest of the ghosts, they were wandering around, having a good ti. Even Arica and Diana had co.
More people joined the table, one of them was Evelyn whom Phoebe had not seen in a while although they spoke on the phone almost every day.
"If it isn't miss decided to have a baby on ." Evelyn faked sadness. "I protest how I found out the news. It is not true that distance makes the heart grow fonder." She hugged Phoebe tightly, then she let go suddenly because sothing was obstructing the hug. "Oops I forgot that you are baking." Evelyn's hand moved to massage Phoebe's bump. "I have missed out on a lot, and you did not tell that Andre was now dating, he looks very happy in Sabrina's company." She pointed at Andre and Sabrina; they were having what seed to be a civil conversation.
"They are not dating." Phoebe corrected.
"But they are cordial, and it is the strangest thing that I have seen in a while. It is like watching a lion and a goat being friendly." Maureen comnted, her eyes moved around with unease.
"Who is the goat?" Evelyn snickered.
"Andre." Arrow said.
All of them kept their eyes on Sabrina and Andre. They were not the only ones doing so, a lot of guests were curious about what was going on there. After all, one was a nace, and one was a Casanova. Both seed to have let go of their old horrible personalities this year, which was surprising.
"What could have changed, so ti back they could not stand each other and there they are talking like normal people. It must be the wedding; people are nicer on weddings." Phoebe's eyes arched in delight, a smirk playing on her lips.
Maureen exhaled, and ripped Arrow's drink out of his hands, downing it in one go.
Rekha narrowed her eyes. "Aunt Maureen are you alright? You seem a bit stressed on such a happy day." She asked, a shadow of concern passed over her eyes.
"I thought that I was seeing things, she is drinking more than usual." Phoebe threw in.
Instinctively, Maureen turned her head only to spot the source of her worry approaching. "That is why." She released a low groan.
They all shifted their eyes to study the approaching figure; it was Boyd Alton. He grinned widely like everything was great between them.
"Who invited that guy?" Phoebe hissed.
There was no answer, but everyone faked at smile, and they waved at Boyd. It was almost as if there was a gun to their heads and they had been ordered to smile.
"Maureen, there you are. For a while there I thought that you had ditched the party." Boyd's voice was filled with glee; he went ahead to greet everyone and further introduce himself to those that did not know him.
Wondering how he even got an invite to the party, Maureen played nice. "Mr. Alton," She moved her shoulder to the side to avoid his hand that was aiming to touch it.
The unwanted touch irritated Phoebe, she was not having it, and she wanted Boyd far away from her aunt. Among the things Phoebe regretted in her life, saying that Boyd Alton was nice was one of them. Lately, whenever she saw him, she got the shivers--and not the good ones.
"Mr. Alton please excuse us there was an important discussion going on before you graced us with your presence. I hope you don't mind but we need to continue it." She spoke abruptly.
Alton was not a fool; he read the room and ca to a realization that he was not welco. "That is okay, I will take my leave now. I only ca to see Maureen's beautiful face since she is not picking my calls. I figured that she was just too busy and if she saw in person, she would rember . But...I won't bother you all, I am sorry." He answered, sadness clung to his face like a second skin.
He walked away while looking back as if he was hoping to be called back but no one did. When he disappeared into the crowd, everyone exhaled.
"Poor guy." Rekha spoke in a colorless voice.
Shaking her head, Evelyn pouted. "He's wearing a brave face but deep down he is weeping." Her voice carried the weight of a sigh.
"Now is feel like a terrible person." Phoebe's words fell like dead leaves.
Maureen scoffed. "Oh, co on! I have made my feelings pretty clear, if there is soone that you should feel bad for, it is . The man is sticking to like a pest; does he not understand the words I am not interested?" She complained shifting her attention to Rekha. "And you, Rekha, don't you have your own stalker to worry about? I have seen that Montgory ghost hovering around you multiple tis." Maureen said, lopping gum between syllables.
"There are many stalkers here aunt, so many uninvited ghosts decided to attend the wedding." Phoebe comnted.
Mayfair ghosts, Saxon ghosts, Montgory ghosts, Darling ghosts. It was if every ghost on the lane had been invited for the party. Heck, even the Drusus family which had the highest number of ghost catchers had brought their own ghosts.
Star shifted to another position. "More cake, I want more cake mommy." She sorsaulted without a care in the world.
Phoebe sighed and resud her cake eating duty.
"Why are you being stalked Rekha." Phoebe asked between more bites.
Arrow pulled his brows together, then he arched an eyebrow. "I assud that my sharp eyes had seen wrong for a second but I was right, it is Obed Montgory is it not?" He made a careful and casual inquiry.
