"What is that supposed to an?" Grayson’s voice turned hard, and he looked at his subordinates, who were responsible for the safety of the event.

It was one thing for the princess to be attacked outside the protected area, but being attacked at a party that was supposed to be the safest was unforgivable.

"I am unsure if my words left any room for confusion, Grandpa," Cyrus said.

The man usually acted docile and tad before his grandfather, but if he acted like this... Grayson pressed his lips.

"You aren’t one of those who make a move without preparation. What have you found?" Grayson asked.

Cyrus nodded and clapped his hands. Gregory walked into the hall with his n, who brought the coffin that contained the dead body of the waiter.

The lid of the coffin was lifted, and everyone looked at the dead body in shock.

Were their eyes deceiving them? A poison this dangerous was brought to this party?

Cassius walked before the coffin and lifted the hand of the dead body, but it felt squishy like all the flesh and muscles inside the body had lted, and the skin and bones were the only things keeping it intact.

"Unbelievable!" Grayson looked at his grandson.

Cyrus walked around the room near the coffin, and everyone followed his movents, their breath stuck in their throat.

He kept walking until he stopped behind Hannah.

The girl froze, her body nearly trembling from fear.

Cyrus raised his hand and, without rcy, held her hair in a fist.

"King Cyrus," Thas nearly lost it, but the man wasn’t afraid of him.

He threw Hannah before Grayson’s foot, widening the girl’s eyes.

She hadn’t expected they would find out about her sins. But how? She wasn’t even the one who mixed that poison in the drink. She ensured there were no caras around.

"What did you give my wife to make her dizzy and drunk?" Cyrus asked.

Hannah took a deep breath inwardly. It was an accusation indeed, but not as severe as being blad for giving soone poison.

"I... I am sorry. Please forgive . I indeed offered the drink to Alia even after knowing that she had low alcohol tolerance, and it was because I wanted her to make fun of herself. I was jealous of her recent research and wanted people to look at my work too," Hannah said.

Thas’ eyes softened at her confession. It must have been hard for his daughter. He should’ve focused on publishing more papers in her na and giving her the best.

It was all because of that filthy Alia that his previous daughter had to suffer.

His fists clenched, and he looked at King Cyrus, ready to raise his voice since just giving Alia a drink didn’t make her a culprit.

However, before he could open his mouth, Cyrus beat him to it.

"I have been quite tolerant of the healers recently, but did they think they could play with my image? An innocent mistake? Was it really?" Cyrus asked.

Then he walked ahead, looked straight into his grandfather’s eyes, and grabbed Hannah’s hand.

"Since you wanted to humiliate her, offering her the drink with this very hand, it would make sense if you can’t use it for so ti," Cyrus said.

Hannah froze in her place.

Thas shook his head.

Grayson closed his eyes briefly with a sigh.

If his grandson had decided on the punishnt, he could do nothing about it.

It was still better that he was letting the girl live.

"King Cyrus, you can’t do this. She is my–"

Cyrus didn’t wait and broke Hannah’s arms at the wrist.

"Aa!" An earth-piercing scream echoed in the hall, and Dominic flinched at her cacophonic voice.

Patrick looked at his father, his lips pressed into a thin line.

This could be his father with a worse outco if he had drugged Alia. He shook his head and walked away.

Cyrus looked at Hannah wailing in utter pain before staring at Thas.

"This could be you too, the only difference is that it would be your head in place of your hand, if you dare slap my wife again. She might be your daughter and a healer, but I hate that she still bears my na now, and I won’t let you disrespect it." Cyrus’s warning was clear before he turned and looked at his grandfather aningfully.

"I hope you investigate this properly," he said, walking away with his team.

Fabian didn’t understand a thing.

He was sure his King was thinking of confronting the healers. Didn’t they find evidence that it was Hannah who drugged Alia and the man? Why didn’t he expose her for that?

Everything was confusing to him.

Cyrus, on the other hand, had multiple questions rising in his head.

The truth was right before him, but he still didn’t know how to believe it.

Everything was ssy, but what was harder to understand was his pain at the thought of anything happening to Alia.

"Hehe, I will protect you with my life," Alia’s words echoed in his ears, and he clenched his teeth.

If Hannah had drugged the man with the sa poison as Alia, why wouldn’t anything have happened to Alia? How co her body countered it?

If she had an antidote before, did that an she knew she would be poisoned? If yes, then how? And why did she take the poison in the first place?

And that soldier’s thoughts?

Just what kind of ga was this girl playing?

The more ti he spent around her and got to know her better, the girl didn’t look like the sa girl he had run a background check on.

She was much different, much belonging to him...

At the sa ti, Alia, sleeping without a care in the world due to her body’s countering, heard Hannah’s screams and was disturbed in her sleep.

She opened her eyes, her thoughts still ssy, and she wobbled towards the door.

She opened the door with a giggle, ready to walk out.

Alia smiled when she walked out, and Cyrus, who saw her from far away, looked at her aningfully.

Rather than holding her or helping her, he followed her, moving close to her.

He saw her descend the stairs one at a ti like a baby before walking out of the venue.

She walked towards the large garden that led to the forest.

The guards, ready to stop her, didn’t engage with her when they saw King Cyrus walking behind her and shaking his head at them.

They bowed and stayed in their positions.

Alia walked straight into the forest, as if sleepwalking, raising her nose from ti to ti like she was following a scent, which was odd for a healer.

However, at so distance, she stopped.

Cyrus stood a couple of tres away behind a tree, watching her observantly.

He noticed how she suddenly crouched on her ankles and started crying. He felt a pang in his heart.

"Cyrus! Woohoo... why can I sll your scent but can’t find you? Are you hiding from ? Did I do sothing wrong? Woohoo...I ssed up this life again, did I? I don’t deserve to live," Alia started crying, and while her sentences did not make any sense, it didn’t an they didn’t surprise him.

Did that an all this ti she was looking for him, slling his scent?

Right. He was walking closely. She must’ve been slling him.

With a sigh, he massaged his forehead and walked to her.

"Get up. It’s cold out here," Cyrus extended his hand to her.

Alia stopped crying and looked up, her glistening eyes making him clench his jaws as an explicit image of her crying in pain and pleasure entered his head, and he cursed inwardly.

Alia smiled and stood, nearly stumbling in her steps.

"Are you here for ?"

"I am," Cyrus said, picking her up bridal style.

"Do you love ?" Alia asked.

"Mm," Cyrus humd, not wanting to hurt her or give a definite answer.

"Am I your wife?" She asked.

"If not you, then who?" Cyrus asked, a little irritated by his body’s reaction to her alluring scent.

Why did it feel like... Cyrus paused in his thoughts.

If he had any doubt, Alia’s following words cleared all those doubts, leaving him flabbergasted.

"In that case, shouldn’t we be making a baby already? I have never had sex before, and I know it would be painful. You are so big, and I am so small compared to you. Will it even fit? What if it doesn’t fit? Should we asure it?" Alia blinked her eyes innocently.

Cyrus’s ears turned red at her words.

She wasn’t being particularly quiet, and all the guards they were passing could hear her pretty clearly.

"Shut your mouth, princess. I don’t want to do sothing we both will regret," Cyrus took her back to the room, and as soon as he placed her on the bed, she held his hand to stop him.

"I feel hot, Cyrus. Please," Alia said.

Cyrus looked at her body, which was turning red from the reaction of that drug, probably, and shook his head.

"Don’t regret it later," He said before turning her around quickly and unzipping her dress.
