Everything was chaotic. Large flas engulfed the once-happy place, and no one knew who was to bla for the turn of events.

Screams echoed in the environnt, and the pack’s main leaders and soldiers did everything in their power to calm the fire and, most importantly, the people who belonged to the pack.

While all of this was happening, a man sat on the branch of a far tree, watching everything with a subtle smile playing on his lips.

His eyes held the fire far more destructive than the one in the pack.

"You shouldn’t have touched what didn’t belong to you," the man said before jumping from the tree and walking away.

In the morning, Alia felt the environnt at the University was a little solemn.

Well, it definitely was a little paler compared to her mood, which was all ecstatic after last night’s events. Even thinking about their first shared kiss brought a smile to her face.

People stared at her as she walked further into the University towards her class, and her brows furrowed.

Sothing was definitely wrong.

Seeing no one in sight she could talk to, she was about to turn to the cafeteria, where she expected to see her friends or anyone familiar, soone who wouldn’t make her feel so left out.

However, before she could take another step, Hannah rushed to her.

"Alia, it’s bad," the girl said.

Alia narrowed her eyes.

All the worst possibilities circled in her head, and she wondered if sothing had happened to her father.

"What is it?" She asked hurriedly.

"Sothing happened at Alpha Killian’s pack. The packhouse lit on fire overnight, and no one knows why. Alpha Killian is having a tough ti. I think you should visit him," Hannah said.

Alia’s expression relaxed a little after hearing it was sothing related to Killian only.

"Did soone die?" She asked.

Hearing her unsympathetic question, Hannah paused. She looked at her as if she was looking at soone else, and Alia realised that her facade was losing.

"What I an to ask is, do they need healers? Is soone serious? We should hurry with a team if that’s the case," Alia said.

She was genuinely concerned about the pack mbers.

As much as she hated Killian for what he did to her, his pack was innocent in his sches, and she didn’t want to see them hurt.

Hannah relaxed.

Alia was still concerned about Killian, which ant there was still hope. Last night’s event was probably just retaliation because she was upset by him, Hannah wondered.

"People are hurt indeed. However, no one is serious. Father has already sent a team there. But you should rush there too," Hannah probed Alia.

Alia knew what Hannah was trying to do. She was trying to sow discord between her and Cyrus by forcing her towards Killian, when in the end Killian would be hers only.

Alia suppressed the urge to smirk at the girl’s wits.

She nodded at Hannah instead.

"Let’s go," Alia said.

She rembered Cyrus’s reaction when he thought she was nearing Killian, so she dropped a ssage to the King.

This morning, the man had her save his number under the na C.V. so she won’t have to rely on the maids or others to contact him.

Alia licked her bottom lip. She didn’t want her first ssage to be sothing that would irk or provoke him.

But she didn’t have a choice. She needed to play along with her script to reveal Hannah’s intentions for so ti.

Alia opened the ssaging application and typed a ssage.

"Dad and Hannah want to aid Alpha Killian’s pack. A sudden fire broke out there, and people were injured. Don’t think about anything else. It’s purely professional. I only have my eyes on you," Alia typed and hit the send button.

At the sa ti, in an abandoned building, Cyrus was trying to unravel the truth behind the last subtle attack on the kingdom.

It was yet to co to his grandfather’s notice because he took matters into his own hand.

He didn’t want Dominic to intervene and make things hard for him because letting his grandfather know about it would an bringing the matter to the ministers in the Kingdom.

The man sat with his right leg over his left knee, asserting dominance over the pri suspect’s subordinate.

Cyrus did not say anything. He just kept staring at the man.

His gaze was lethal, promising nothing good.

The man before him cried.

"Please let go. I have no hand in what happened. It’s true that our leader was given this consignnt and sent so people over, but like always, he didn’t reveal any details," the subordinate said.

Cyrus smirked.

"Is that so? Do you know nothing?" The man asked, his voice cold and deep.

"I don’t know anything, sir. Please trust on this. I have –" The subordinate paused.

Who wouldn’t? His gaze fell on the pistol in Cyrus’s hand.

The sizzling sound of the skin burning echoed in the silent building.

The silver was lethal to werewolves, but Cyrus held the pistol as if it weren’t burning his skin.

The reason was simple.

He didn’t feel that kind of pain from silver.

"Are you sure?" Cyrus asked, pointing the gun’s nozzle at his foot.

If the man wanted to kill him, he would’ve pointed the gun at his forehead, but the way he was pointing at his foot, it promised him slow and painful death.

"I... It’s... Betty. That’s the only na I know," The subordinate said.

Betty? A she-wolf? They weren’t aware of any she-wolf in that swindler’s team.

"Betty?" Fabian asked.

The subordinate nodded.

"Betty is the code word they used for the mission. You can send any of your n there and have them use this code, and they’ll tell you the truth," The subordinate said.

Cyrus humd and was about to ask Fabian to deal with the subordinate when he heard a ping sound from his phone.

It was strange.

Everyone looked at their King.

This was the first ti they heard a ssaging sound from his phone.

Not many had his number, and people like his family would directly call him.

They looked at their king, waiting for him to take his phone out so they could see who had ssaged him.

"What are you guys looking at? Our king is married now," Fabian reminded them, even though he was trying to peek at the phone to see what was written.

Cyrus casually pulled out his phone and read the ssage. He raised his brows before looking at Fabian.

"Did you guys enact the order about dealing with Killian?" He asked.

Fabian looked at Trevor, who shook his head.

"We were about to do it when we received the intel about this bastard. Did sothing happen?" Trevor asked.

Cyrus reread the ssage before stuffing his phone in his pocket.

"It looks like karma got to him. His packhouse was set on fire at night, and no one knows the reason," Cyrus said before he stood from his seat and turned to Cyberhunt, his infamous spy.

"Find out who did it. Who is more eager to avenge my wife’s distress? This is not a coincidence," Cyrus said before scoffing inwardly.

She has her eyes only for him? What complete nonsense. He thought as he walked out and sat inside the car, his fingers involuntarily touching his lips as a blush crept up his neck.

Seeing the man reacting like that, Fabian chuckled.

"Why are you acting like soone kissed you, sir?" Fabian asked jokingly before he paused, his eyes widening.

He turned to look at his King with raised brows.

"What are you looking at? Do you want to shift you to the Atlantic team?" Cyrus growled, and the subordinate looked forward hurriedly.
