Alia sat inside the car with a complicated expression. She couldn’t help but sigh at the irony of the situation.

King Cyrus sat inside the car with her and looked at her from the corner of his eyes.

The words from last night echoed in his ears, and he pressed his lips into a thin line, his gaze dark and unapproachable.

Fabian and Trevor sat in the front seats, looking at the duo in the back seat with raised brows.

Why did it feel like the two of them had a fresh fight? They weren’t even talking at the breakfast table.

Could sothing have happened between them last night that led to this silent treatnt?

Fabian was about to talk to the princess to ease the mood when King Cyrus beat him.

"Are you sure that’s your family?" King Cyrus asked.

Alia looked at her hands, a little ashad and nervous.

She didn’t want to appear problematic to him. But from the mont they got married, she had only been appearing as a liability to him, and it was starting to get on her nerves now.

She didn’t want him to abandon her, and the chances of that were surely higher with all the things happening to her, all thanks to her family.

"I am sorry," Alia apologized.

The man looked out of the window, not saying anything.

They were sitting in the car together, not going to her university or his office but to the court of the joint council.

Her father complained to the Joint Council that she was the reason behind the fire in their laboratory and asked them to discipline her because he could not do as she was the King’s wife now.

Alia didn’t even want to consider what manipulation Hannah might have used to get her father to think like that.

He was always like that. Most n around her are like that—stupid nincompoops who can’t use their brains at all.

Alia sighed.

"What do you want to do?" Cyrus suddenly asked.

Alia turned to look at the King, a little surprised.

Could he do anything in that matter?

They blad her, but proving a cri required evidence. From the mont she found out about the committee, she was racking her brains to see if there was anything they could use to their benefit and turn into evidence.

However, she hadn’t been able to find anything so far.

"Let’s see if I can handle it," Alia didn’t explain further, and Long Cyrus didn’t ask anything.

To save ti, they drove to their helipad so distance before taking the helicopter to the Joint Council chambers.

In the large chambers of the Joint Council, adorned by ancient beauty and marbles carved with traditional thods, everyone turned towards the large floor-to-ceiling windows when they heard the commotion outside.

"It looks like King Cyrus is here," The Leader of the Joint Council said.

Everyone from the council stood from their places and walked to the entrance to welco the royalty.

King Cyrus walked in long but slow strides, his overcoat flapping with his movent, his black diamond cufflinks shining brighter than the lights in the chandelier.

His aura, like always, was sharp enough to cut the thickest aura. His vibes were not to be ssed with.

However, for the first ti, he appeared a little gentle.

No. It wasn’t him. It was the presence beside him. Everyone looked at the girl, dressed in a blue gown, as she walked by King Cyrus’s side.

She didn’t look scared. A strange confidence adorned her features, making her look even prettier.

"King Cyrus," Brandon Silver walked and nodded to him slightly, followed by his son Ethan Silver, who bowed to the King to show his respect.

Ethan extended his hand towards Alia to hold her hand and kiss it like a gentleman.

Alia looked at the man before placing her hand in his.

"Miss Alia. A beauty indeed," Ethan smiled at her affectionately, looking at her srized.

Alia felt slightly embarrassed but didn’t let it get to her head.

King Cyrus observed the man, not liking how he was outrightly talking to Alia like he was courting a girl, especially when he, her husband, was standing there.

He wouldn’t have bothered about it if it was any other ti, but right now, she was here as his wife, and thus, she needed to maintain decorum.

His brows furrowed, and he was about to speak.

"I didn’t know the council didn’t watch the news," Alia said, pulling her hand from his hand and looking straight into his eyes with her sharp eyes.

"Pardon," Ethan said, unsure what she ant.

"It’s Mrs. Alia. My husband is standing right beside ," Alia said.

Ethan smiled awkwardly, finally realizing his mistake, and cleared his throat.

"Shall we go?" Alia held King Cyrus’s hand daringly. A little surprised by her boldness, the man humd and led her inside.

Fabian and Trevor both glared at Ethan one by one.

How dare this peasant from the council touch their princess? They thought before scoffing, leaving the man flabbergasted with embarrassnt.

Alia entered the large hall where everyone was gathered and smiled.

She rembered being present in one such hall in her last life after she ran away from the King.

Now that she thought back in ti, their laboratory had burnt that ti, too, for a completely different reason.

Hannah had made a grave mistake when experinting with the new chemicals, and she blad herself because she had returned to et her the sa night.

In honesty, Hannah had called her with the sa thoughts.

It was epic how things were repeating themselves at different tilines and with their twist to the story.

Alia saw Brandon sitting at the head position of the council.

"Mrs. Alia, you have been accused of orchestrating what happened to the healers’ lab last night," Brandon said.

Alia stood from her seat beside the King. She was supposed to walk to the middle of the hall and stand there like a criminal, ready for her verdict. It was a humiliating way of doing things when she had not even committed any mistake.

But she didn’t let her confidence go.

As she walked from between the chairs, she saw Hannah sticking her foot out for her to fall.

Alia smiled inwardly. Not a single improvent. They still have the sa tricks.

She walked over the foot and reached the middle before taking a deep breath.

"So I have been inford. Please show your evidence," Alia said, looking straight at her father.

"You imbecile! Do you want evidence from your father?! I know you did it. You are a cursed piece of ruined destiny. It’s not news. You only know how to bring trouble for others," Thas shouted.

Alia looked at her father’s angered face, and her eyes brimd with tears at the words that cut her heart like a knife.

She blinked her eyes to fight back the tears before taking a deep breath.

She looked at the head of the Joint Council.

"Does that an I have been summoned by your guys, which wasted my one day at university and ruined my new experint based on so speculations?" She asked them rather than arguing with her father.

The head of the joint council narrowed his brows and looked at the healers.

"You guys said you have proof," the joint council said.

At this ti, a person from their laboratory stood and pointed at Anelia.

"She definitely did it. She was asked to share her research results but denied sharing them. Only she had the reason to do so because she said she would rather destroy everything than let soone’s na on it," The girl said.

Hannah, who was about to stand to handle the situation, glared at the girl. She nearly ruined it.

Alia didn’t say anything.

"Sister, please don’t mind Dad. I wanted to stop him, too. He thinks like that because you didn’t want to submit the research data, and now that you are married to soone so powerful, it’s not hard for you to do sothing like this," She wiped her invisible tears.

"Dad, let’s stop it here and not make more fun of ourselves," Hannah said, her eyes turning red, which imdiately gained everyone’s sympathy.

Alia smiled at the infamous expression of her sister and smiled.

"Just because it’s not hard, did it an I did it? Besides, I wanted my na on the publication because I worked hard. Is it wrong? Do you want the data? I will work again and give it. It’s not like it’s my first ti. I can always research sothing else," Alia said, slightly hinting to people that all her research has been taken away in the end, too.

Brandon Silver pressed his lips into a thin line. It looked more like a family drama than an official drama, and these healers asked them to summon the King and his wife for sothing like this.

His expression of healers suddenly deteriorated.

Everyone in the room knew Alia was a prodigy healer. So she was telling the truth.

"We can’t decide based on speculation with no evidence. The case is–"

Before the leader could dismiss it, the girl from earlier stood there.

"Wait. Ask her where she was when all of this was happening," The girl said.

Alia furrowed her brows before she looked at her as if she was dumb.

"I was sleeping with the King. Do you want proof of that too?" Alia asked.
