Kyle and Cyrus stepped out of the car, their stance dominating and authoritative, as they headed straight to the Royal Palace, making their subordinates bow to them in respect as they walked side by side.
Cyrus looked at his brother, ensuring he didn’t feel uncomfortable since it was his first ti here.
However, seeing his confident expression, he knew there was nothing he needed to worry about.
On his way, he noticed Dominic’s car already parked right before the grand entrance and smirked.
"Should we bring her first or just provoke him more?" Kyle asked the question that Cyrus was thinking about, and the two n smirked at each other.
It was payback ti for the Bentleys for what they made their mate go through.
Kyle moved his hand through his hair as they stepped into the Royal Palace.
Just like they had guessed, the entire family, including Amora, their aunt Rosaline, and her family, and Dominic’s family, was present there.
The family turned to look at Cyrus as soon as he entered, ignoring Kyle as Cyrus’s subordinate.
"Is it true, Cyrus? You kidnapped your cousin?" Amora looked at her grandson in re shock.
Cyrus’s gaze shifted to Dominic and Patrick for a brief second, his brow raised before he smirked.
If they thought complaining here was going to give them so kind of benefit, especially Dominic, he didn’t know what type of grave he dug for himself.
"Is that true, Cyrus? I am asking you a question." Amora narrowed her eyes at him.
Cyrus didn’t answer straightaway. Instead, he tilted his head and looked straight at his grandmother.
"You look pretty when you are angry. No wonder Grandfather is head over heels for you even at this age," He comnted.
Amora’s lips twitched at his words. However, she maintained her angry expression.
Cyrus sighed.
"It’s amazing how this family has a habit of judging a situation based on one part of the story only. Didn’t they tell you what she did?" he asked.
Dominic imdiately turned to look at Cyrus in a protective stance.
"What she did can’t be excused, but she did it to protect her father’s honor. She has returned recently and doesn’t know the dynamics much. She saw what happened at the palace that night, and she—" Dominic started speaking, but was cut off when Kyle stepped forward.
"In that case, Mr. Bentley, you did an awful job of teaching your daughter what is right," Kyle said, his lips stretching into a smirk.
His words made Dominic’s expression break, and he rely contained himself from lashing out.
"How dare you speak about family matters? Is this how you train your people, Cyrus?" Rosaline spoke.
Cyrus scoffed.
"Always the diator, aren’t you, Aunt Rosaline? However, you disappointed . Lilithia attacked Alia in the participants’ chambers. Attacked with sothing heavy from behind. Alia is still in the hospital, recovering. If she had been found a little later, she would’ve died," Cyrus said, his hawk-like gaze observing everyone’s expression turn a little solemn.
Amora looked at Dominic, waiting for his reply.
"That..." Dominic started, but Cyrus raised his hand.
"I know my wife’s life is the least of your concerns, Grandmother. She isn’t from the powerful bloodline, and it would always be a thorn to you. Grandfather was the only one who ever truly considered her a part of the family." Cyrus turned to Kyle and nodded at him.
It was a silent indication that he got everything under control and he could relax, that he didn’t need to attack anyone in the household, sothing that concerned Cyrus.
Why? Unlike Cyrus, who felt a little kinship bond with the family, Kyle was truly emotionless when it ca to avenging Alia.
Cyrus walked to Trevor and took the black file from his hand.
"Cyrus, what are you talking about? I told you this before, too. These queen trials are a part of the ritual. I have nothing against Alia. If she won, she would be rightfully your wife," Amora said, her eyes betraying her words.
Cyrus nodded.
"Let’s not push it. I am sure you don’t care about Alia, and honestly, nothing you would say would make a difference at the mont. However, I have sothing that surely matters to you." Cyrus walked to his grandmother and placed the file in her hands.
His gaze then shifted to Dominic, his blue eyes shining with mischief and triumph.
Dominic gulped.
For so reason, he felt a little worried about what that file contained.
"Bring Lilithia in the anti," Cyrus said, his voice much gentler when he talked to Kyle, sothing that didn’t go unnoticed by Rosaline.
She looked at the broad back of the man who turned and walked out of the palace.
Sothing was off about him.
She couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was, but her intuition suggested there was more to the story of the mysterious masked man who appeared beside Cyrus for the first ti.
"What are you thinking about, Rose?" Alistair, her husband, asked her, and the woman shook her head with a smile.
"It’s nothing. Just this family never ceases to amaze . I don’t know what Cyrus and Dominic had brought to the palace this ti." She said bitterly.
Alistair held her hand and squeezed it comfortingly.
Amora looked at the black file before opening it.
She read the first few words of the file and then saw the photos attached to it, her pupils dilating.
Her hands trembled, and she looked up at Cyrus.
The man just nodded at her in encouragent to look further.
Amora’s eyes brimd with tears, and she turned the page. More photos of the atrocious act appeared before her, and the old woman couldn’t take it anymore.
The file dropped from her hand, and she fell on the couch behind her.
"Mom!" Rosaline rushed to her mother’s side.
"You have crossed a line, Cyrus. Dad is already in the hospital. Mom is already weak because of that, and now you brought sothing to hurt her and—" The rest of the words stuck in Rosaline’s throat when she looked at the scattered photos on the ground by Amora’s feet.
Her eyes went wide as she looked up, just as Lilithia was being brought inside.
Her hands were tied, tears rolling down her face as she struggled to move straight.
Kyle showed no rcy and treated her inhumanely. He had no intention of doing so after what she did to his mate.
Without a second thought, he pushed Lilithia forward, making the girl stumble and fall on the ground before the entire family.
Lilithia cried in pain, her voice muffled due to the gag in her mouth.
"Mmmm!" Lilithia looked at Cyrus, begging for help, and the man who usually gave in and entertained her earlier scoffed.
Rosaline pulled her hand away from around her mother’s back and grabbed the photos.
Nurous photos were captured through the CCTV footage of the participants’ chambers, showing Lilithia carrying a knife and sneaking behind Alia.
She changed her mind at the last second and hit Alia with a vase instead.
However, the photos that struck her most were the ones of Dominic eting with the rogues, the sa ones who were later seen attacking their father, Grayson’s, car.
Right before the intersection, one of the car’s black box caras captured those people following Grayson’s car. After the highway ended, their vehicle was captured again on the city’s CCTV.
The condition of their car depicted what had happened on the highway.
Rosaline’s blood ran cold. She couldn’t believe it.
They all knew that Dominic was always after the throne, and his obsession was worriso, but they never thought he would dare to attack their father in his anger.
"Dominic, you—" Rosaline used her supernatural speed and slapped Dominic hard across his face.
"Rosaline!" Elysia shouted, and the woman grabbed her neck.
"Don’t you dare raise your voice at . This is between my brother and . How dare he attack our father!" Rosaline screeched.
Patrick looked at his father in sheer surprise. He knew his father saw no boundaries when it ca to ruining Cyrus, but he had never guessed he would go that far.
"I can’t believe it," he whispered to himself.
Dominic, seeing how his little sche got exposed, cleared his throat.
"It’s a lie, Rosaline. What are you on about? You, out of all people, know that I would never harm our father," Dominic said.
Amora’s eyes turned red from angst. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she looked at her son, who turned out to be a venomous snake.
"How could you, Dominic? How dare you?!" Amora walked to Dominic and slapped him hard across his face.
The man’s face whipped to the side, and he closed his eyes in humiliation.
Elysia’s eyes brimd with tears as she looked at the scene unfolding. She looked at her daughter, who was still struggling, and couldn’t help but feel helpless.
"I order Dominic to be under constant surveillance until Grayson is back and decides whether to have him exiled from the Royal family after what he did. Regarding Lilithia, she must be thrown to the dungeons with imdiate effect," Amora announced.
Lilithia’s eyes widened, and she shook her head.
"Mmm!" She pleaded as she looked at her mother.
However, no one in the hall showed her any sympathy.
Cyrus looked at the pitiful woman and then looked at Kyle, who shook his head at him.
There was no space for sympathy for leeches like them.
Cyrus sighed and nodded.
