Cyrus sat in the chair beside his grandfather’s bed, his expression neutral. Still, his eyes were brewing a storm that was hard to contain as he looked at the steady monitor that displayed his grandfather’s heartbeat, which had gone erratic earlier.
"I don’t know what triggered him, sir. The doctors are rerunning tests," the doctor said.
Cyrus nodded before standing from the chair.
"What about Alia?" He asked.
The doctor cleared his throat.
"Her wounds have been treated, and she is healing at a steady rate. She should be able to participate in the next round of queen trials," the doctor said.
Cyrus’s wolf growled when he heard those words.
Calm down, Sylas. I’ll look into this matter, and whoever dared to attack my wife from behind, rendering her unconscious in those chambers, will pay with their life. Cyrus said.
He nodded at the doctor and walked into the adjacent room, where Alia lay on the bed.
His heart skipped a beat when he rembered the condition he found her in, with a pool of blood around her head as she was on the ground, clearly unconscious.
They were still waiting for her to wake up so they could determine exactly what had happened in the participants’ resting chambers.
He sat beside Alia and held her hand with a sigh.
Was it just him, or did it look like soone was attacking people he cared about, particularly choosing his grandpa and Alia right after the ceremony?
Only a few people knew about Alia being his wife.
Could it be...
Cyrus imdiately called Fabian inside the room.
"Sir, we are already looking into the matter and enquiring all the remaining participants of the Queen trials, including the ones who hadn’t left by that ti," Fabian said as soon as he entered the room.
That alone wasn’t enough. Cyrus thought before giving a new set of orders to gather their SA class team and send them behind Dominic to find out what that man was up to these days.
For so reason, it was hard to believe that he was docile and stayed in his Bentley estate to reestablish the building.
Fabian left shortly to act upon the new orders, and Cyrus was about to close the door when Kyle walked in, his eyes cold and unpredictable as he looked at Alia lying on the bed.
"What happened here?" He asked.
Cyrus told him that soone attacked her from behind, probably in the participants’ chambers, and she fell unconscious imdiately.
One of the Lunas found her and imdiately inford the authorities, and the rest was before him.
"Soone is targeting her," Cyrus said.
Kyle scoffed.
"Maybe if this blasphemy of Queen trials weren’t happening, she wouldn’t need to suffer so much," he seethed through his teeth before he walked to the other side of the bed and held Alia’s hand.
With a sigh, he leaned in and kissed her forehead before placing his hand on her chest.
"What are you doing?" Cyrus asked with narrowed brows.
His brother wasn’t perverted enough to touch their mate when she was like this, was he?
"I am trying to wake her up. You told that she has mage powers inside her. It’s not good for her to stay unconscious for so long. The powers... They are pretty cunning and evil and can take over her mind," Kyle said.
Cyrus imdiately realized what he was trying to say. Alia wasn’t a true mage yet. Her powers were locked inside her, and her father told them that those powers would never know that thin line between evil and revenge.
If they took over her brain completely, pushing her back into the subconscious state, her evil powers might take over, and things wouldn’t be the sa for her.
"Let’s wake her up," Cyrus said before he walked to the door and bolted it.
He looked at Kyle, and, seeing her unbuttoning her top, he gulped.
It felt a little morally wrong because whatever he wanted to do with her, he wanted her to feel it, but if this was for her health, he was ready to do it.
He lifted the sheets and spread Alia’s legs, ready to take off her panties and give her a good orgasm, even in her unconscious state, that might wake her up when Kyle stopped him.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
Cyrus looked at his brother, confused.
"Didn’t you say we need to wake her up?" He asked.
Kyle looked at his brother for so ti before he couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
"I told you that we need to wake her up, not make love to her. Were you seriously thinking of doing it?" Kyle asked, and Cyrus cleared his throat, his ears turning red as he covered Alia’s legs with the sheets again.
Well, soone looks too eager to make love and claim his wife. Sylas chuckled, and Cyrus felt even more embarrassed.
He watched Kyle pull out the pendant that Alia had been wearing, which she had hidden deeper inside her clothes due to trials.
He placed the pendant on her forehead before he leaned and kissed it.
"Dragon blood, please pull out my mate from this sleep," he murmured.
He knew this thod would work. However, when it didn’t and Alia didn’t move, he suddenly rembered sothing.
"We both are her mates. You need to participate, too," Kyle said.
Within a second, Cyrus was on the other side of the bed, and he placed his hand on Alia’s shoulders as he leaned and placed his lips on her temple.
They closed their eyes at the sa ti.
It was almost as if their supernatural powers were being circulated in a closed circle of three.
Their energies synced together with the help of the dragon blood trapped in that pendant, and Alia, who felt trapped in darkness, fighting for a speck of light, suddenly saw a path that she could move on, and before she knew it, she slipped back into her consciousness.
Her eyes fluttered open slowly, her heart skipping a beat imdiately when she felt the presence of her two mates beside her, so close to her.
"Were you guys trying to take advantage of when I was out?" Alia’s words made the man pull away and look at her in relief.
Kyle shook his head at the girl, already joking as soon as she returned, and caressed her cheeks.
"How are you feeling now?" He asked.
Alia thinned her lips. How did she feel? It felt like soone had hamred her head from behind, and she lost a ton of energy, even more after the first round. Even moving a limb felt like a chore and...
"Soone attacked from behind," Alia said.
Cyrus stood and looked at her.
"Give us the na, my love. The na would be more than enough," he said.
Alia jogged her mory. She rembered talking to Hannah in the hall and her boasting about how she would win the rest of the rounds just like she won this one.
"Hannah was there..." Alia whispered.
"Hannah dared to attack her, risked her life once again. I’ll kill her this ti." Kyle turned around and was about to leave when Alia held his hand to stop him.
She looked at Cyrus before pressing her lips.
"Hannah had left. I saw her walking into the room. She didn’t attack . The person who attacked , or the presence that I felt behind , was familiar. However, I am not sure," Alia said.
Cyrus could feel she was hiding sothing, and he narrowed his brows at her.
"The na, my love. Even if it’s just a suspicion, give the na. I’ll handle the investigation," he said.
Alia took a deep breath. She didn’t want to put that person in such a position, but if they attacked her once, what were the chances they wouldn’t attempt it again?
"That person was..." Alia swallowed hard as she looked at her two mates, who were waiting for her answer.
"Lilithia,"
