"Morning,"
That was the first word Alia heard when she opened her eyes.
The blinds were drawn, little light peeping through the gap between them.
She blinked her eyes open and looked at the man who was sitting on the chair in the corner of the room, dressed in a casual pair of khaki pants and a navy shirt.
Alia supported her head on her hand. The duvet slid down from her body slightly, and the sensual feeling made her realise she was naked under the covers.
Her cheeks turned red, and she quickly pulled the duvet up.
"Good morning," She blushed hard, rembering how beautiful their last night was.
She woke up a couple of tis during the night, and every ti, the man adjusted her so that she was plastered close to his naked body.
He didn’t let go of her the entire night. There were tis when his length rubbed her in a place that she wanted to be already filled with him.
The thought made her clear her throat. She knew he could sll her arousal well, and she didn’t want to make him think she was a lusty woman who only thought about...
"We need to get ready for the King trials," Cyrus said.
Alia nodded, sobering up a little.
"I was waiting for you to get up so we could shower together. Save so water, you know," he added.
Seeing the girl widen her eyes, he chuckled and stood from his place before walking over to her.
He placed his hand under her neck and gently lifted her face before pecking her forehead.
"I have already showered. I was waiting to greet you first thing in the morning. I will win this tournant. And when that happens, will you allow to mark you?" He asked like a gentleman.
Alia smiled at him.
"You got the right to mark when you married , King Cyrus. And I am not saying this out of duty. You have been ruling over my heart for so ti. I don’t care about the world as long as you want to stay by my side. I’ll fight everyone," Alia said, rembering Kyle’s words about being her mate.
It might be wrong to him, but she has already given her heart to Cyrus, and there is no going back. She didn’t regret a second of it.
"I’ll et the rogue head before the trials," Cyrus said, observing her reaction.
He noticed how the girl stiffened slightly in his arms.
"Do you still suspect I have sothing to do with him?" Alia asked.
Her eyes were clear, no guilt in them.
Cyrus smiled before gently kissing her nose.
"I don’t care whether you have sothing to do with him or he is pursuing you. I just want to make it clear that you are mine, to you, to him," Cyrus’s gaze darkened at the end of the sentence.
After that, he left.
Alia took a quick shower and got ready in a blue gown. She looked at the jade bangles on her hand and contemplated taking them off.
"Keep them. They look good in your hands," Cyrus muttered from behind her, and she noticed that he was ready in royal attire.
He was even wearing tallic armour.
"Ready?" He asked.
Alia nodded and placed her hand in his nervously.
"Will I be introduced today?" She asked as they descended the stairs.
"After the Queen Trials. That’s what grandmother said. I don’t know why they want to delay it," Cyrus scrunched his brows.
Alia nodded in understanding.
Honestly, she was a little relieved that they weren’t introducing her yet, since her issues with Kyle were unresolved, and she was sure the rogue man would definitely create havoc and try to do sothing if she were announced as Cyrus’s wife.
Cyrus was eting him today. She could only hope that he wouldn’t do anything stupid.
"He is planning to use his wolf. The discussion is hot amongst his team mbers," Fabian said as he reached the hall, bowing to Alia.
Alia nodded back before turning to Miss Quinn.
"Please prepare the table. Eat sothing, and then we can discuss the strategies," Alia said to Cyrus.
Fabian looked at King Cyrus.
Their princess didn’t know that their King never eats anything when a battle is at hand. He says he would rather have a feast after defeating the enemy.
He was about to intervene when, to his surprise, without saying another word, Cyrus started following Alia to the dining hall.
"Let’s eat," Alia said, and Cyrus nodded.
The subordinates looked at each other, a little surprised.
Was it just them, or did it suddenly feel like their King was leaning towards their Princess a hell of a lot more than before?
"Sit sowhere in my line of sight," Cyrus said with his mouth full.
Alia took the napkin and wiped the corner of his lips.
"I will always be in your sight," She said.
He nodded and then looked at Fabian.
"Is everything settled and checked?" He asked.
Trevor nodded.
"Sir, everything has been checked twice. There is no way he can cheat or do sothing to distract you. But his wolf... So rumors suggest that he has been feeding his wolf magical supplents to enhance its power. He will definitely use his wolf form in the battle," Fabian said, expressing his concern once again.
Cyrus scoffed.
"No wolf form can beat Sylas. This is not about anymore. This is also about his wife. We promised her we would win. And I am sure he will do anything in his power to make it possible," Cyrus said confidently.
Fabian and Trevor nodded with increased motivation, big smiles spreading on their lips.
Cyrus looked at his spoon, deep in thought.
He said those words so that his people won’t feel dominated. In reality, he couldn’t change into his wolf form because of the empty feeling in his chest.
And though he knew Sylas would want to do everything to win, his inability to turn would be a significant drawback for them.
He’ll have to think about sothing to counter Patrick’s wolf form.
Cyrus sighed, looking up as his gaze t Alia’s.
She had a little amused expression on her face.
She pulled out a small vial from her purse and gave it to him.
"What is this?" Cyrus asked, confused.
"Sothing that will boost your powers for a limited ti. It will give you an instant energy boost. When Patrick would turn into his wolf, take this. You will get the energy boost to snap the wolf’s paws easily," Alia said.
Cyrus raised his brows.
"Are you asking to cheat, baby?" Cyrus asked.
Everyone was busy thinking about the trials and looked at their King in surprise.
Did they hear it right? Did their King just call their princess ’baby’?
"Na. I am just giving you an energy booster," Alia smiled as if she knew about his dilemma, and her respect increased even more in his heart.
She was really the most appropriate and fitting wife for him. There was no one better than her. He smiled and took the vial before stuffing it in his pants.
"Thank you," He said and pecked her forehead, asking her to eat properly before he walked away.
