Alia reached the place where she had asked to et Kael for a eting regarding the blind and disabled won she was training to secure good jobs, as she felt she should at least do so good work and recruit those helpless souls, giving them a reason to live better.

She walked around the back of the marketplace, looking at various jewelry, a smile spreading on her lips when she looked at the bangle that matched the jade bangle she wore.

She extended her hand and looked at the jade bangle.

"That’s a lovely bangle, Miss. I think I have sothing matching it," The shopkeeper suddenly bead, probably aiming for a sale.

"That’s okay. I am just looking around and –" Alia tried to deny, but before she could even complete the sentence, the shopkeeper held her hand and forced the bangle into her other hand.

She raised her brows. It almost looked like it always belonged there, like it was ant for her hands only.

She thinned her lips.

Should she buy it?

Well, the shopkeeper did look happy with the sale she would make.

With a deep sigh, she reached for her purse to pay for the bangle after asking the vendor how much it was, when soone extended a few bills before her.

"Wrap it up," the cold voice said behind her.

"I am sorry, sir. But I have already bought the–" the rest of the words stuck in Alia’s throat when she saw who it was.

The man before her smirked. His eyes, with a slit in their pupils, just like a cat, eased as he looked at the girl before her.

"I hope you haven’t forgotten ," the man said.

Alia swallowed the saliva in her mouth and looked around, feeling unsure.

What was this man doing here? Was it even allowed? Why was no one reacting to his presence? Was he using so kind of identity veil?

She licked her bottom lip.

It was clear that lying and saying that she didn’t know who he was would be useless.

"What are you doing here?" Alia asked, looking away, as if she didn’t want to be caught talking to a man like him.

"You sll a little different today. Like blood," The man licked his bottom lip, his eyes shining predatorily.

He kept looking at the girl, and when he noticed she wasn’t in the mood to joke, he chuckled lightly.

"Buying you a bangle. Isn’t that obvious?" The man smirked, enjoying her distress.

He could see her dilemma. After all, it was written all over her face. And the more he looked at her flushed, worried face, the more he wanted to talk to her.

"Well, you can’t talk to like this," Alia practically hissed.

The man sniggered at her words.

She knew who he was, and yet she dared to talk to him like that. She has intrigued him from the mont they t.

"Well, I was –" the man started, but before he could complete his sentence, Alia felt the familiar presence beside her.

"We are here, madam," Kael said, not looking at the man behind Alia, as he didn’t think they were interacting.

Alia looked at Kael and nodded.

She pulled out a few bills and placed them on the counter before turning and leaving, not looking at the man behind her.

After walking so distance, Alia turned to look at the area where the demon lord was.

There was no one standing there anymore.

She heaved a sigh of relief before following Kael to the middle of the forest.

Around 20 people, leaders of different teams comprising both genders, stood before her, ready to present the report on their current endeavors.

"The spy team. I asked you guys to look into sothing," Alia looked at Kael, since he led the team.

Kael nodded.

"Madam, we have found out a few things about the lady Scarlett, the last healer who established the community of the west healers," Kael said.

He took a file from his subordinate and gave it to Alia.

Does that an it was her mother who established the healers’ community? Was that the reason why they couldn’t kill her even when they hated her so much? Was it sothing related to rights, or was it related to sothing else?

The laboratory... Yes, her father had once ntioned it when he was intoxicated with his experint’s results. He had sothing like how he worked so hard in the laboratory, but the place wasn’t his.

Alia quickly grabbed the file and was about to read it when her phone vibrated with an incoming call.

She looked at the caller ID and didn’t hesitate to answer it.

"Hello?" She asked.

As she sat on the large rock, the wound on her back tingled, and she winced in pain.

"Where are you?" Cyrus went straight to the point.

Alia looked around and sighed.

"I am at the marketplace. Is sothing the matter? Do I need to rush?" She asked.

Cyrus thinned his lips.

Was sothing the matter? Didn’t she know what the matter was? Shouldn’t she be telling him about what happened at the University? But rather than complaining about it, she asked if he needed anything and if she should rush.

He suppressed his irritation with her for so reason before clearing his throat.

"Nothing. You stay there. I am coming to pick you up," Cyrus’s words held a finality.

He wasn’t going to take no for an answer.

Hittle stressed because of the King trials.

"Okay. I’ll wait for you," Alia said with a calm and understanding tone.

Hearing her soft voice, Cyrus could imagine her smiling, even though the phone and his heart skipped a beat suddenly.

He gulped.

It was because of the mark. He told himself before urging Trevor to drive faster.

He looked at the large bouquet of black roses on the back seat.

It was a lovely bouquet. There were many colors at the flower shop, but he rembered seeing her in that black dress, which looked so beautiful on her.

Her porcelain skin makes the sa color look bright and radiant. Thus, he was sure she would love the black roses.

Alia, on the other hand, told Kael that she would need to end the eting early and asked them to continue selling the chemicals she had made, which were a redy for basic joint pain. She also asked Michael to continue producing and sending orders for mass production, and even made an advance paynt.

Once she was sure all the basic things were covered, she left the forest to reach the market area so Cyrus wouldn’t suspect anything.
