"Don’t cry." Xu You’an was at a loss. He couldn’t bear to see her cry before, so she rarely shed tears. But today he truly witnessed the terrifying power of a woman’s tears. The amount of tears she shed today was probably more than in the past several years combined. Even though he couldn’t quite figure out what was on her mind, seeing her cry tugged at his heart, making it ache.

"Do you not want anymore?" she asked softly, her eyes slightly red, looking incredibly aggrieved.

He walked to the bed, turned off the light, gently patted her shoulder, and lay down beside her. "Go to sleep," he said in a soft voice.

But Sangsang was still upset! She was actually a very petty person, and the Zhao Chunying situation deeply bothered her. Maybe it was because she was too angry or due to what she ate that day, but she only felt increasingly uncomfortable. Suddenly, she sat up, got off the bed, covered her mouth, and retched a few tis, though nothing ca out.

"Sangsang." Xu You’an quickly turned on the light and saw her standing there under the light, her profile pale and haggard. Guilt overwheld him as he gently turned her body to face him. "What’s wrong? Where does it hurt? I’m sorry, today it’s my fault..."

"I’m pregnant." Sangsang fixed her gaze on his dark eyes and said.

"Pregnant with what?" Xu You’an was confused.

"A little bun," Sangsang said.

A possibility flashed through Xu You’an’s mind, and his eyes lit up with joy before they clouded with doubt again. No, no, he must be overthinking. "What little bun?" After being with Tian Sangsang for several years, he had grown used to her random quirky phrases.

"I’m pregnant." She grabbed his hand, placed it over her still-flat abdon, and looked up to et his dazed gaze. "It happened that night. If you don’t want it, I’ll raise it by myself."

With a thud, Xu You’an suddenly knelt on the ground, startling Qixiu. "Xu You’an, what are you doing??!!"

"Sangsang." He wrapped his arms gently around her waist, resting his fluffy head against her stomach. His back seed to tremble lightly from sheer elation.

Tian Sangsang reached out and gently patted his back to comfort him.

"Sangsang, is it true? You’re not joking with ?"

"It’s true."

"Don’t move. Let listen to its sound."

He was so careful, so focused. Sangsang pressed her lips into a smile. "The little one is still so small."

Suddenly, she felt a dampness on her stomach. In disbelief, she lowered her head. Was he... crying?

Xu You’an stood up and cupped her face with both hands. "I’m worried I won’t make a good father."

Sangsang felt a pang of sourness in her heart. "I’m also worried I won’t make a good mother."

After the initial joy settled, he looked at her, his eyes glimring like stars but clearly reflecting her image. He solemnly promised, "I’ll work hard! Sangsang, I’m sorry... and thank you."

Seeing his earnestness, Sangsang felt a little better. She wanted to crawl back into the blanket, but Xu You’an gently stopped her. "Take it slow."

The next morning, feeling completely content, Jiang Jinghuai went to check on ng Shuyan in his room. The little guy was still asleep, snoring softly like a little piglet. It seed he had completely forgotten about his morning jogging habit.

Jiang Jinghuai let out a helpless sigh, reached out to ruffle the boy’s fluffy hair, and in the end, couldn’t bring himself to wake him to join him for a run.

After finishing a solo jog outside the yard, drenched in sweat but feeling invigorated, he headed back and ran into Li Qiong’er. He acted as though she didn’t exist.

Li Qiong’er also lived in this compound and usually got up early to walk in the park. She watched his retreating figure, her mouth opening as if to say sothing, but the chance to speak had long passed.

Jiang’s father was already up and having breakfast. Ye Binyi and ng Shuyan had just woken up, and Ye Binyi was leading a still-dazed ng Shuyan to wash up.

"Daddy." ng Shuyan’s eyes lit up when he saw Jinghuai and clung to his leg, refusing to let go.

But nothing more happened for a while.

Ye Binyi and Jiang Jinghuai both looked down to see that the little one had fallen asleep against his leg.

"Yanyan." Jiang Jinghuai gently pried him off and softly said, "Go wash up quickly; it’s almost ti to eat."

Ye Binyi chuckled and picked up ng Shuyan. "I’ll take him downstairs."

Jiang Jinghuai returned to his room. The morning air was incredibly fresh.

In the soft morning light, his wife was still sound asleep. A thin blanket covered her, but her graceful silhouette was still visible. Her foot peeked out, resting just at her ankle.

His eyes darkened slightly, resisting his urge. He stepped closer, tucked her blanket in, and gently brushed aside the strands of hair on her forehead. She seed startled awake, squinting sleepily at him. "Jiang Jinghuai..."

"What ti is it? Should I get up now?" she murmured softly, turning her head slightly to glance at the window.

Jiang Jinghuai gently turned her face back, preventing her from looking outside. "It’s still early; go back to sleep," he whispered.

"Oh," she replied with a pout. Her lips looked so fresh and delicate. She tilted her head and drifted back to sleep.

Jiang Jinghuai went downstairs to scoop so rice in the kitchen.

Ye Binyi glanced at him from behind and complained, "Where’s Sangsang? Why isn’t she up yet?" Sleeping this late—what kind of example is that for a daughter-in-law!

Jiang Jinghuai knew exactly what his mother ant. She was a stickler for rules. He explained honestly, "Sangsang just fell asleep not long ago; let her rest a bit more."

Ye Binyi instinctively furrowed her well-defined brows. "Jinghuai, you two are still young. So things require moderation; otherwise, it’s bad for your health. If she doesn’t know, then I’ll teach you."

"Mom," Jiang Jinghuai felt thoroughly embarrassed and spoke up for his wife. "Bla if you want, not Sangsang. You can scold or hit , but please don’t bla her."

"Why would I scold or hit you? Hurting you would hurt too." Ye Binyi spoke earnestly. "I’m just telling you to show so restraint."

In her heart, she still believed it was the daughter-in-law’s fault. Her son would’ve exercised self-control in the past. If it had been Hua Jun, none of this would’ve happened.

After breakfast, they went back upstairs to tidy up before heading to work. The more Ye Binyi thought about it, the angrier she beca. She vented to Jiang’s father, "Look at her! She’s so inconsiderate! Your son cos ho, and she turns him into this ss! It’s this late, and she’s still not up!"

Jiang’s father also felt awkward listening and said ruefully, "It’s been months since the young couple saw each other. Why ddle in their business? Usually, it’s the man who can’t hold back. Besides, it’s only natural, isn’t it?"

"I gave birth to this son. Why shouldn’t I ddle?" Ye Binyi said coldly. "Back then, you were ensnared, and now my son is too. I won’t let him repeat your mistake."

Jiang’s father stiffened, as though he had aged ten years in an instant. With exhaustion in his voice, he said, "Binyi, let’s stop bringing up the past, alright? I swear, I don’t even rember what she looked like."
