The kid looked beyond scared and agitated when he told Layla and the company what he wanted to say. His eyes shined with the knowledge that what he was about to say could shake the whole country…no, even the entire world.

Layla took these words seriously, and she looked at the kid with a certain look of disappointnt and curiosity.

"When you say 'he,' I assu that you do not even know the identity of this man, right? In that case, how do you know that he is a threat to humanity in the first place?"

Layla's words made the kid falter. He bit his lip as he considered what Layla had asked him, and he realized that she was right. He did not know anything about the person he was claiming to be humanity's enemy. And yet, he had a feeling that he was right when he pinned that man as the enemy.

"I cannot tell you the reason why, but that man is definitely an enemy of the human race. Whether you believe it or not is up to you. But if you are going to do sothing, then do it soon. Otherwise, more and more accidents will happen."

The kid sounded serious, but Layla needed to take a hundred things into account before she could make a decision. She knew rash decisions based on incomplete information could have catastrophic consequences. For now, this incident needed to be investigated, but Layla was not even a part of the team that was put together for this task.

"Well kid, as much as you need help from us, I don't think your endeavor is very successful. It's not because the task you are asking us to accomplish is impossible, but because the royal family has taken over this task already. And since the royal family is in charge of this investigation, there is not much we can do."

Mary's words disappointed the kid and made him look down. He felt agitated, but he also realized that his request ca off as too selfish in front of these people.

"I understand. I will not ask too much of you then."

The kid was surprisingly sound-headed, and he did not force Layla to help him out. Perhaps, he understood that he was in a bind here and he also understood his position in life.

"Mary, have this kid escorted into one of our guest rooms for now. I have a feeling that we will need his help soon, and I would rather have the kid ready than for him to be taken out by soone before we can ask for his help again."

Layla's words were casual and spoken without much hint of emotion. Hearing her speak made the kid's heart freeze, and he gave Layla a startled expression.

He suddenly looked scared that he would be taken out by soone if he was not careful. But luckily for him, Layla's expression did not look scary.

"Got it, miss! I will take the kid to his room and make sure he gets settled in. Would you like to bring you back so tea and cookies as well? We have a freshly baked batch that has a lovely flavor."

Layla was about to deny that request before she paused and decided that it would be better to let things happen as they were.

"Sure! I won't mind if you bring so cookies and tea. I feel like I'm in the mood to have that stuff anyway."

Layla agreed, and that was the end of the conversation.

But before the kid left, Layla decided to ask him one last question.

"Now that we have accepted you into our midst, I feel like I should ask you this question—what is your na? We cannot keep addressing you without knowing your na forever."

The kid blushed red as he looked at Layla. He also looked startled that he had not told anyone his na yet.

"I…my na is Yalmier. I know it's a unique and difficult na, but my mother really liked this na. She said that having this na would bring good luck."

Yalmier spoke in a hesitant voice. His voice was barely over a whisper when he spoke, and it almost seed as if he was ashad of his na.

"A familiar of Horace? It's a good na, but not one people often use. It is given to those who are the most loyal and outgoing. Looks like your mother had great expectations of you, kid."

Mary spoke in a happy voice, almost as if she was teasing the kid.

But instead of showing a happy expression or even blushing, the kid made a bitter face as he looked down at his hands.

"Yeah, a loyal one, huh? I don't think I am particularly loyal. Also, can we head out now? I want to get back ho and relax. Staying out too late is making feel dizzy."

Yalmier seed to be agitated after what happened and what he just heard. Mary's words had seed to touch a nerve in his mind that was not supposed to be touched. But despite knowing this, Mary did not seem to change her words or apologize.

She continued to smile at Yalmier, and the kid seed to have no choice but to forgive her for this. Otherwise, he was afraid that he would harbor vengeance against Mary in his heart forever.

"Mary, stop playing around and just get going. I will see you and Yalmier later once I get done with all the stuff in here. Raziel, you should protect to make sure nothing happens."

Yalmier stepped forward and quickly took his place behind Layla. His eyes looked fierce and protective as he stood guard behind her, prepared for whatever challenge might co next.

anwhile, the kid who left with Mary looked scared of her and yet, he was determined to follow her to the end. He felt scared of Mary, but he also knew that she had power beyond what he could imagine.
