Caught on the Spot

As the sudden disconnect notification popped up, the world before Chen Zixuan's eyes instantly plunged into darkness.

The surroundings vanished, replaced instead by a space of complete nothingness.

What's going on?

Before he could panic, system Miss's tily voice rang by his ear:

"System notification: new content detected. This system will complete the update within 12 hours. Players, please do not panic. You may re-login to the ga after 12 hours. We apologize for any inconvenience."

System update?

Hearing this explanation, Chen Zixuan finally relaxed. It seed Gu Yanxi and the others were probably fine too.

However, he also keenly sensed that this sudden update was likely related to him reaching the crucial point of level 15.

He wondered what new content would be added after this ga update.

Just like that, the darkness before his eyes lasted a few seconds before Chen Zixuan was automatically logged out of the ga.

His senses returned to reality. Chen Zixuan opened his eyes and saw darkness, felt the heaviness of his body, and a slight chill.

Strange... Isn't it sumr now?

Did I turn on the air conditioner before logging into the ga? Where is this chill coming from?

Taking off the helt, Chen Zixuan sat up slowly and instinctively reached for his chest.

But he quickly recalled that this was pointless, so he raised his hand to the back of his head instead.

Luckily, his hair was still short as before, and no lengthy twin-tails had grown out.

This discovery allowed him to relax a little, though the situation was still not optimistic. His limbs felt weaker, and even raising his hand needed so effort.

He picked up his phone to check the ti—it was seven in the evening. Because the curtains were drawn, the room wasn't bright as day, but outside it should still be daylight.

Sumr days in Xijiang City were indeed long.

Not being able to log in for twelve hours—he wasn't sure if it was just him. Chen Zixuan opened up the Legend of Kaloran forum to take a look.

"What a stupid ga! If you're gonna update, at least notify us in advance."

"I thought I got disconnected myself—what's this, the Disconnection City and Account-Thief Warrior?"

"Anyone got any info? If you log out without saving, your items and equipnt won't be lost, right?"

"Sa question."

" 1"

"No idea. Maybe the official team will compensate us."

Seeing other players also complaining and grumbling, Chen Zixuan was finally completely at ease. He closed the forum and sat quietly on the bed. He didn't slack off but silently started planning his next steps.

Now that he was level 15, the "imdiate worries" were no longer a concern. But there was still the "long-term threat" one year later, so he could only continue leveling up.

Judging from this update, there would certainly be new content after level 15, though it was unclear if it would help further progression. He could only focus on the current content for now.

First, what Chen Zixuan valued most was the level 15 purple epic set: [Rose Maid].

With this set, plus the Lv. max [Maid Outfit Mastery] bonus, his stats would skyrocket to a monstrous degree. Even soloing the Sawtooth Demon King Crocodile would probably be no pressure at all.

However, although he now had the level to equip these items, his [Forging] skill was still only apprentice-level, and unless he reached master, even with all the materials, making epic equipnt was impossible.

So, after the update, his priority was no longer to grind levels, but to find a way to quickly raise his [Forging] skill to master level.

Gu Yanxi was already level 13, still using level 1 equipnt. Chen Zixuan felt rather apologetic about this.

He'd had the girl making bait potions for the last few days—she sure was diligent, never complaining once.

He decided to help Gu Yanxi craft the level 5 [Hymn Class: Novice Nun] set first.

With his current [Forging] at apprentice, as long as he had the materials, he could craft blue rare-grade equipnt.

In addition, after level 15, as a Vampire Prince, he could learn two very powerful skills from his ntor.

One was [Fear Blood Shadow], requiring level 15, with [Night Raid] at level 2 as a prerequisite. Chen Zixuan had already t this condition and could learn it from the puppet Aesther as soon as he logged in.

The other was [Sky Rupture], requiring level 14, but needing [Enhance: Claw (Right)] as a prerequisite.

Since he needed to wield his weapon in his right hand, Chen Zixuan found this skill a bit redundant, so he hadn't learned it at level 13. He'd have to log in and check its effect before making a decision.

There were too many skills to learn but too few attribute points to distribute—this was a constant complaint among Legend of Kaloran's players.

Not only were there few attribute points, but after misallocating skills, you couldn't reset points. This ant many players, despite eting all conditions, didn't dare learn skills for fear of regret. Who knew if the update would address this issue?

But what did that matter to him?

Chen Zixuan didn't have such concerns. Every skill for his class was overpowered—in MMO terms, super OP. No matter what he picked, he would never regret it. Even the most chaotic point allocation would still make him stronger than other classes.

When the update was done, as long as he could craft the [Rose Maid] set, and make blue gear for Gu Yanxi, Yuewu, and Dawn's Light, the four of them could team up to challenge the Sawtooth Demon King Crocodile.

He had promised to help Dawn's Light capture a world-class boss as a pet. Chen Zixuan always kept his word, although this boss was extrely tough, so Dawn's Light would owe him a "bit" more compensation.

The Sawtooth Demon King Crocodile's high defense really fit Dawn's Light's swordsman class; its fierce look was also a perfect match. For Chen Zixuan, getting the boss to near death wouldn't be hard—it all depended on whether Dawn's Light was capable enough to ta it.

Just as Chen Zixuan finished mapping out everything, his phone suddenly buzzed—it was a delivery he'd ordered a few days ago.

He hadn't had dinner yet, and hurriedly dressed and put on his shoes. The mont he stepped out of his room, he bumped into a very familiar figure.

A white short skirt, incredibly cool for sumr, set off a pair of long, fair legs that were simply srizing. Gu Yanxi stood at the door, arms folded. The two locked eyes, and for a mont, the atmosphere grew awkward.

Chen Zixuan and Gu Yanxi stared at each other for two seconds. He gave her an awkward smile, treating it as a greeting, then tried to step past her to go downstairs, but was stopped by the girl who grabbed his shoulder.

In the dim hallway, Chen Zixuan remained silent, but Gu Yanxi suddenly laughed.

"I just want to ask—how long are you going to keep dodging ?"
