After a few operations, a pair of massive bat wings unfurled. A giant, jet-black bat appeared out of thin air beside the silver-haired girl, its vampiric fangs baring from its mouth and its blood-red eyes filled with savagery.
The sudden appearance of such a creature really startled Gu Yanxi.
It took a few seconds before she regained her composure. She looked at Chen Zixuan pitifully, asking with a trembling voice, "W-what is... that?"
"My pet. Haven't you petted it before?"
The corners of the silver-haired girl's lips curved ever so slightly. She scratched the giant black bat's forehead, feeling a subtle goodwill emanating from it as she softly explained.
"H-have I...? Oh, I rember now!"
After mulling it over for a mont, Gu Yanxi finally recalled that at the ti of the monster siege, Cecilia had indeed summoned a small, palm-sized bat, likely for scouting.
But when she compared the cute little bat from back then with the current monster almost as big as a person, Gu Yanxi's mind threatened to collapse on the spot.
It had only been a few days—how could the difference be this huge!
The thought that she had even touched this thing before sent a fresh wave of chills through Gu Yanxi.
Would this creature really not eat people?
While she was still letting her imagination run wild, on the other side, the silver-haired girl's originally sapphire blue left eye transford into a strange, deep crimson—sharing her vision with the Darkwing Demon Bat and establishing an invisible connection.
Chen Zixuan's plan was to have the Darkwing Demon Bat circle above the Mutant Jungle once, to see if it could spot traces of the Sawtooth Demon King Crocodile. If that didn't work, he'd activate the bat radar to finally pinpoint the boss's exact location.
"Go."
The silver-haired girl extended a finger towards the Mutant Jungle. Instantly, the Darkwing Demon Bat flapped its powerful wings and soared straight ahead through the sky like a goose flying south.
Because bats had poor eyesight and the Mutant Jungle's vegetation was especially thick, searching for a solitary crocodile so well-camouflaged in these conditions required a huge amount of concentration and total commitnt.
Thus, Chen Zixuan turned to Gu Yanxi and said earnestly, "I might have to focus all my attention over there soon. If anything happens nearby, please wake up."
Sensing the seriousness in Chen Zixuan's tone, Gu Yanxi paused for a mont before nodding vigorously.
From ti immorial, red and blue make a CP; with one eye red and the other blue, Cecilia might not be all that symtrical, but she had an unspoken kind of coolness.
After explaining everything clearly, the silver-haired girl bent her knees and sat cross-legged on the ground, gently closing her eyes. Within seconds, she was as still as a statue, showing no more movent.
Though she looked asleep, in reality, Chen Zixuan was truly asleep.
Previously, when controlling the Darkwing Demon Bat, Chen Zixuan had always allocated only half his perception to it, leaving the other half in his own body.

He shook his head firmly, tossing all those jumbled thoughts aside. Now was not the ti to let his mind wander.
Forcing himself to focus, Chen Zixuan dipped slightly in altitude, casting his gaze towards the jungle below, searching for a sign—any sign—of the Sawtooth Demon King Crocodile's figure or trail.
Since its na contained "Demon King",
Chen Zixuan deduced that this boss must be exceptionally massive.
A normal Sawtooth Crocodile was already six to seven ters long. Even the largest crocodile in the real world—the saltwater crocodile—was only about that size.
So just how enormous was this monster supposed to be? Ten ters? Twenty?
Chen Zixuan had never seen a D-rank world boss before, so he didn't know.
Two minutes later, Chen Zixuan had flown all the way to the far edge of the Mutant Jungle, but still ca up empty-handed.

Unwilling to give up, Chen Zixuan changed direction and began circling lower over the jungle, this ti flying almost flush with the treetops, scanning his surroundings as he went.
It was dangerous—he might crash if he lost focus—but without using the bat radar for now, he had no better option.
