Breaking Through Level 10

"That sound must be the Wolf Kings..."

Chen Zixuan still rembered that in every forest wolf pack, there was one male and one female Wolf King, who controlled the pack through their howls, or activated skills to strengthen all the forest wolves.

Looking down at the chaotic lee below, at that mont, he suddenly beca sowhat hesitant.

Should he take action or not?

If he intervened, it would inevitably give others the impression that he was trying to steal the kill.

Though, truthfully, Chen Zixuan indeed wanted to snatch the kill. He was just a few experience points away from reaching level 10; anyone in his place would be itching for it.

However, if he didn't step in, these six players would probably die on the spot, and then Chen Zixuan would have no way of finding out what quest they had just been talking about.

A quest that involved Angel was definitely not going to be easy, and Chen Zixuan had already gotten a sense of this at the Sawtooth Crocodile in the Mutant Jungle.

But the higher the difficulty, the better the reward. The forest wolves here had mutated: their stats and skills were massively enhanced, but their level was only 3, far lower than the Sawtooth Crocodile at level 15. They weren't unbeatable, and at this mont, they were just right for grinding levels.

After hesitating for a while, Chen Zixuan finally couldn't hold back and decided to get involved.

On the battlefield below, under the absolute numbers advantage, the six-person party's defensive formation was instantly torn wide open.

A mutated forest wolf leaped high into the air. Its grayish-white eyes were lifeless, staring straight at the priest player in the party. The girl with short black hair stood frozen for two whole seconds before a terrified scream finally escaped her throat.

Normally, she only fought monsters from behind a computer screen, and after joining Legend of Kaloran, her identity as a girl ant the guys in the team always protected her. She had never seen such a terrifying scene.

She turned to run but her legs gave out first, tripping on a sunken patch of ground and falling with a "thud" to the earth. She dropped her wand, and faced with the sudden danger, could only scream helplessly, having lost all ability for rational thought.

The others were also trapped, unable to save themselves. They were all ordinary people, never trained for such things. All they could do was frantically wave their weapons or cast whatever skills they had ever learned at the forest wolves swarming around them, desperately hacking away with no semblance of strategy.

The forest wolf was already looming over the priest, saliva about to drip onto her face.

In this mont of crisis, suddenly, urgent footsteps sounded from the woods to the side.

From the low shrubs dozens of ters away, a petite girl in a skirt patterned with silver and red ca charging at high speed toward the battlefield!

Thanks to her incredible movent speed, she was little more than a blurred line; her long, brilliant silver hair trailing behind her, and her dark red scarf fluttered like a crimson banner!

If one used a high-speed cara to record this scene and slowed it by twenty tis, one would clearly see that her right hand was holding an inverted dagger about a dozen centiters long. The blade was lethally sharp but pitch black, absorbing all light and reflecting none.

Her slender and delicate form was full of the explosive, predatory power of a cheetah. With a series of great leaps, whistling wind sounded as she stomped the earth in her dark, knee-high leather boots and vaulted up high!

Like a bolt of silver lightning, the girl landed lightly between the players and a forest wolf with a soft "thump" from above.

The dark dagger slid silently into the forest wolf's long head. The razor-sharp blade cut through as if slicing tofu, piercing its soft brain with ease. A bright red number floated up – an instant kill!

-357!

Her slim, half-crouched silhouette slowly stood up. The sudden appearance of the silver-haired girl froze all expressions at the scene.

But the silence lasted less than half a second before the encircled players once again fell into the wolves' onslaught. These forest wolves hit hard; even though the players were around level four or five, they could do nothing against predators so skilled in pack tactics.

Amidst the cries and shouts all around, the girl who had suddenly charged in frowned slightly, slowly drew her dagger from the wolf's skull, her shimring silver hair flowing as if in a breeze, her slender fra standing straight as a beautiful slender sword.

In the next second, her figure blurred and beca a streak again, darting among the pack of lunging forest wolves with lightning speed.

-261!

-312!

-198!

There was the muted sound of steel slicing flesh, yet no blood sprayed out. The girl's form ca to a gradual halt, but the five or six monstrous wolves she had just passed shuddered violently and collapsed on the ground.

The vine at their tails withered rapidly, twitched, and soon lost all signs of life.

"Just a little more."

Ignoring everyone else, Chen Zixuan opened his personal panel and glanced at the bottom of the screen—his experience bar.

Just by killing five or six mutated forest wolves, he earned dozens of experience points; just two or three more and he'd reach level 10.

These mutated monsters were harder to kill than regular ones, but the ga's compensation chanism ant they gave more experience points.

Chen Zixuan rembered well that last ti, just killing a lone Sawtooth Crocodile had filled half his experience bar; if they hadn't been so difficult, he wouldn't have co to train in this place.

Now, seeing he was just one step away from level 10, Chen Zixuan didn't want to wait any longer. He scanned for the nearest targets, twirled his dagger with a flourish, and darted out again.

Unlike the panicked sloppiness of the other players, the girl's movents were a pleasure to watch: darting and weaving like lightning, she instantly appeared before several forest wolves.

Her cool blue eyes flickered to the side, and her dagger swept in a black arc in front of her!

Perhaps because of plant parasites, these monsters were slow to react. Chen Zixuan barely needed to dodge. With several muffled thuds, several wolves' throats were instantly slit, bright red numbers appearing one after another.

When his experience bar finally broke through the level 10 threshold, the system voice sounded right on cue.

"System prompt: You have reached level 10. Max HP 100, Max MP 100, stamina 50, attribute Point 1 available!"
