Seconds later, Sylus had gotten Sophia to wear one of the outfits he had lying around.

And it was only a white shirt, but it should do for now.

As Sophia sat on the bed, the shirt only covered as far as her upper thighs, leaving other parts of her legs exposed.

Her chest was also halfway buttoned, making it easy for Sylus to see her cleavage, however ample it was.

Staring at her wasn’t the issue here; it was how obvious she was making it—that she was doing it intentionally.

Pinching the bridge of his nose while seated on the side of the bed, Sylus could only give out a loud sigh.

"Is sothing wrong, Master?" Sophia leaned forward.

Sylus darted at her.

She sure did look a lot like Layla; the only difference was her white hair instead of purple.

And from the conversations they had, she rembered nothing from before she beca a ghost.

Which also ant she was probably just starting a new life.

"Sophia, can you recall what I told you to introduce yourself as when you et my family?"

Sophia tilted her head to the side. "You are my master?"

Nervous chuckles left Sylus’s lips.

"No—a summons. But I guess that will do too."

With grace, Sylus stood up from the bed, slowly pulling off his shirt.

"You should remain here for a while, though. When it’s ti to co out, I will let you know."

"Are you heading sowhere?"

Sylus replied, "Yeah, I need to make sure the castle isn’t in chaos, considering I’ve been asleep for so long."

"Hm..."

Sophia lay flat on the bed, her chest rising and falling with each breath.

"If Master wants to wait, then I will."

Sylus quickly hid his flustered face, threw on another shirt, and headed out of the room.

...

Sauntering down the hallway, multiple maids and workers greeted him, and their gazes seed to linger on him more intensely than normal.

At first, he thought it was because they were surprised to see him awake, but that wasn’t the case for very long.

Both male and female—all had the sa blushing and shy look.

Occasionally, he would even hear them talk about how good-looking he was.

Sylus was certain he saw himself in the mirror, and in no way did he look any more handso than he already did.

So, he paid it no mind.

Making his way to the garden, as expected, he could see his mother speaking to so of the workers.

A rare sight, if he was being honest.

Very rarely did Elizabeth ever interact with workers in the castle, and it would seem they were enjoying her company as well.

Smile.

Looks like things went well during his long sleep.

"Good morning, Mother."

He greeted, moving closer to her.

As soon as she turned her gaze, her face lit up with joy, and she sprinted forward to grab her son by the hand.

"Sylus, you’re awake! How are you feeling? Does your back hurt? Do you need to rest so more?"

’She’s still a worrywart.’

Sylus replied, "I’m fine. I woke up not too long ago and explored the castle a bit in hopes of finding Zani. She’s nowhere to be found."

"Y-yeah, I gave her a break and told her she could head to Liyue to see her parents for the ti being. I figured it would be what you wanted."

Hearing his mother speak like this was truly refreshing. She was never this confident.

He wondered what type of orders Martin must have given her to begin with.

Taking his attention away from her for a brief mont, he peeked at the servants standing behind, noticing how they were all murmuring to themselves while blushing.

"Did I miss a patch update or sothing?" he raised a brow, nervously.

"Patch?" Elizabeth had never heard that word before, so she was imdiately confused by what he ant.

She then followed his gaze and noticed how the female servants were all gawking at her son.

Her gaze narrowed.

"You all can return to your duties. That will be all. Oh—and can one of you get my son sothing to eat? I’m sure he’s very hungry."

"R-right away, Mistress!!!"

One by one, they scattered, the girls giggling while occasionally glancing at Sylus’s location.

It got even louder when he waved at them—their reaction was as though they were going to die, especially since a few of them fainted.

’Wha...’

"Co, my son. Sit, sit."

Elizabeth pulled Sylus to the bench, not too far from them, and made him sit on it.

She soon began gisting him about everything that happened while he was asleep, including how Lucas had gone missing and Erica had gone in search of him.

That was the only thing that truly surprised Sylus. The rest was pretty much sothing he whispered to Zani and told her to carry out if he were to ever fall into rest like he did.

He knew the strain using [The King’s Authority] would put on his body, so he was pretty much prepared for it.

After a while, of mother and son talking on the bench outside, and workers hiding to admire the sight—

Sylus received his food and gobbled it down quickly. One cannot underestimate the stomach of a hungry man.

Soon after—

"Son, I have been aning to ask this for a while. But do you have any intention of getting married?"

Elizabeth asked.

Causing Sylus to splurt out his drink from the shock of the question.

He quickly glanced at her.

"Do I look that old?!"

Elizabeth giggled. "It’s not that, silly. It’s just... the situation of the family right now is too thin to ignore. Whether I consented to it or not, I am still a mber of the Astrodial house, and the stars are looking to my support.

Your brother is missing, and you are undoubtedly next to the throne. An heir is needed."

"An heir uhn. True. But I’d like to turn this kingdom to an empire. If I am truly honest, I intend to start from Linyue, and then build it up from there. And then...I will make Zani the Queen of that place"

Sylus responded.
