After hearing such proclamations from Michael, the Upper Echelon leaders couldn't help but start voicing out their opinions.
"I can't believe that Reborn is already getting territory overseas. And according to Charys, it's going to be even bigger than what the 1st place finisher is going to get."
"I wonder what it'll be. Are they going to be given territory on the Eastern front? Maybe the Western?"
"But I don't know what he's thinking. Territory isn't going to matter if he's not going to get a Wyvern pack."
Even Gourdon and Wadeby ca by towards Michael and began to try and convince him to change his mind.
"Michael. This is not a good choice for the growth of your company. Yes, larger territory overseas will be a lot of help for your future if you want to expand your business. But if you don't have a pack of Wyvern to help you, then that territory will be useless."
"He's right, young man. If you just rely on using boats and ships to transport your goods overseas, not only will it be a lot slower, but there is a very good chance that it'll be destroyed by typhoons or sea monsters. Even your alliance with the rn won't help you with that."
In their mind, Michael was choosing the most inefficient way to progress his company.
It'll be much easier and a lot faster to develop territory overseas with a Wyvern.
"You can always just buy more land in the future there," said Gourdon. "Having no Wyverns will surely make your progress halt to a crawl."
Everyone was looking at Michael, including Charys herself. She may be a gluttonous Draconian, but she was by no ans stupid in terms of business. In fact, she had the sa acun as these Upper Echelon leaders and patriarchs in the room.
So, she was curious to see what Michael was going to choose.
He said that he didn't need Wyverns. It was preposterous in her mind. Who didn't need Wyverns?
"I'm adamant in my choices," Michael eventually said. "I'll take the bigger territory."
Charys shrugged her shoulders. "Alright. Since that is your decision, I will not try to persuade you. I will bequeath the Southern Island of Proximity."
As soon as she said that, the Upper Echelons couldn't help but express their shock out loud.
"Island of Proximity!"
"No way! She's giving them that island?!"
"Damn… I don't know if Reborn is lucky or unlucky."
The Island of Proximity was nad aptly because it was a piece of land in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by the different major continents of the world.
It didn't technically belong to any country or species. After all, it was a piece of territory that was equidistant from the different landmasses containing the different factions and species.
Now, one could think of Reborn as lucky since this piece of land had very good potential. Since it was near all the major continents of the world, it will be much easier to spread business all over the globe.
So, one might say that Reborn was given a gift straight from the heavens, allowing them a chance to spread their business globally.
However, this could also be a source of misfortune for them.
Many Conglorates and organizations desired this piece of territory exactly because of its strategic location. They'd fought over it, until it eventually landed in the hands of Charys.
Now, there was only a very small chance that the Conglorates would try and pry this land off from Reborn's hands. They'd incur the wrath of the Montgorys if they tried that. But there was always a chance.
Actually, the most pressing problem Reborn would face was that of pirates and thieves who would co to the Island to try and take the territory for themselves.
Perhaps, there had already been a group of pirates who were currently residing in the island and proclaid it as theirs, despite not having the papers to prove it so.
And once Reborn actually settled into the island and got rid of the troubling pirates and illegal settlers there, their troubles wouldn't end there yet.
After all, in a ti of war, this island would be a hotly contested piece of territory. The reason why it was a good strategic reason for comrce, was the sa reason as to why it would be attacked first in the case of war.
They were near every single continent in the world. aning, it was easy access to those continents.
Michael watched Charys expression and realized that the Draconian was testing him. Watching his expressions. Watching how he'd react to being given the equivalent of pandora's box.
And in response, he smiled. "Thank you," he said. "I will make great use of this island."
A slight smile curved on the vivacious woman's mouth, before clapping her hands. "Then it is settled! Now, begone from my castle. All of you. I wish to devour my fried chickens in peace. I can't wait to have it be delivered, hahahahaha!"
After such words, the Upper Echelon leaders quickly dispersed, not trying to test the patience of a Draconian. They also wanted to go back to their organizations to recuperate after everything they've discovered from this eting.
First of all, they realized that they shouldn't try and fight the Reborn company. The Order of the Heavenly Knights now protected them, courtesy of the Swordmistress. The presence of the Ancient Roar was way too critical to be left unprotected.
Speaking of which, it seed that Infernus had now just inford his Master about what happened earlier this day.
"...what…"
Charys' eyes imdiately darted towards the three Dragonborns, her gaze intense. She seed to be trying to look into their bodies, trying to determine the truth. She couldn't.
But she did notice that the Dragonborns had a unique body composition that was like a Draconian, but different in a lot of aspects.
Sohow, these Draconians seed… better evolved than them.
She also noticed the GodForge pieces in their hearts.
