The following day, with most of the residents in the city already evacuated, Dorian and his n managed to make contact with the Yins, said to be a special unit funded by the kingdom—or at least, that was what Dorian thought.
So there was a very high chance the nobles were using the Yins as a ans to further take money from Revina, or it was sothing else entirely. Either way, Dorian made up his mind to et with the Yins after he was done clearing the entire city of all the Yaimas that had infested the place. Five spots where the oil mines were located had been taken as well, so there was no way the Yins wouldn’t have noticed.
Unexpectedly, rather than Dorian having to look for them, the Yins ca to him directly in numbers, seeking to speak with the young Lord Dorian Aurelain. This was precisely what led to the eting on the ground.
While Dorian was seated inside one of the villagers’ hos, perched on a simple wooden chair, the leader of the Yins, dressed entirely in black with a face-concealing mask, sat on the chair opposite him. They were only allowed a single person into the eting, so the Yins’ leader brought in a female bodyguard, while Maria ca in as Dorian’s guard.
There was silence for a while, neither of them uttering a single word since they entered the room. The only thing they could visibly hear was the sound the soldiers were making from outside, whispering to themselves.
’I see, he isn’t the type to make the first move to start a conversation. And here I was hoping to use whatever he says first to turn this entire thing around.’ He sighed internally, still making sure to put a smile on his face. ’If that’s the case, then I should make sure I don’t end up ssing a single thing up here.’

Dorian found it hard to maintain the smile on his face. ’A girl...?’
"Hey there, so you’re the leader of the Yins, correct?" He finally spoke.
Emily nodded.
"Mind telling who you are funded by? Surely you can’t be the only ones funding yourselves for that long, right?" Dorian asked yet another question, but it was t with silence.
This, of course, made him a bit anxious, the sa look that seed to be played on the woman standing behind Emily.
"S-sorry, please excuse us," the woman uttered, then leaned forward to whisper in Emily’s ear. "What are you doing? Lord Dorian is asking you sothing! You’ve been looking forward to this eting for days now, don’t ss this up for us!"
Emily imdiately turned to her assistant. "What the hell, Nancy? I didn’t expect him to look this cute. He literally looks like a prince~"
"What?"
"You know how I am in front of pretty n. I can’t speak to him. You said he was a powerful man that built a nation in our dukedom, you never said anything about him being a pretty boy! The woman behind him is cute as hell too~"
Nancy sighed, smiled awkwardly at Dorian, and turned back to face Emily. "I know what you like, but if you ss this up, you may never get the chance to speak to him again, so do this right."
Emily pouted, though it was hard to see since she still had the mask on her face. Finally getting the word from her partner, she decided to have the one-on-one conversation with Dorian, calming herself down to not get embarrassed by his adorable face, hard as it was.
"Sorry about that. That was rude of . Please allow to introduce myself." She removed the mask from her face. "My na is Emily, and I am the leader of the Yins group. It’s an honor to et with you."
Dorian was a bit surprised after seeing her face. It wasn’t what he expected, not at all. She was dark-skinned, with short, sleek black hair that frad her face beautifully. A visible, silver scar crossed the soft curve of her cheek—a testant to her life as a warrior. The contrast between her delicate features and the aggressive scar was arresting. Since the mask she wore was connected to the black cloth that also covered her chest, Dorian could see yet another hidden side of her: her massive breasts, packed tightly in a white strap that covered only just that, aning her stomach was entirely exposed.
Dorian wasn’t the only one srized by her beauty; even Maria had the sa look on her face, although it was mainly just her making sure Dorian wasn’t staring too hard at them.
"Lord Dorian? Is sothing the matter?" Emily asked, tilting her head to the side a bit. Then a shocked look played on her face, replacing the confusion she once had. "D-do I look weird? Am I sweating a lot?"
She began panicking, rubbing her face with her delicate hands, despite there also being visible scars there.
Maria quickly interjected, her voice firm. "No, it’s nothing of the sort. My lord was rely waiting for you to answer the question he asked you."
"Oh, right." Emily straightened up, her eyes on Dorian. "You asked if the kingdom was the one funding our organization? The answer to that is no. We have been the one carrying it out by using weapons and resources from the enemies we slayed."
She continued, "Initially, it was true that the kingdom did issue us funds to power our battles. The governor told us it was from Her Majesty, and we were even blessed with reinforcents from the royal army. That said, it only happened once. After that, the reinforcents stopped, and so did the resources as well. We were all on our own, with all the borders occupied by the terrorists."
Dorian listened with an open mind. In truth, he didn’t need to hear much again to understand what was going on. So, he sighed.
’The Governor, eh? So he is an accomplice in this. I figured it would be the case—he most likely took all the money for himself while giving false reports to Revina. Should I also assu Duke Valerie knows about this? Surely the Governor reports to him as well.’
Dorian sighed out loud once again, his legs crossed and back rested on the chair with his arm on the top. The deep look on his face was sothing no one missed. And while he was unaware of it, it made the girls stare for a long, extended amount of ti. Maria. Emily, and even Nancy couldn’t help but be srized at the sight.
Finally, Dorian looked towards them. "It’s fine then. To be honest, I am quite impressed you managed to stand your ground against the enemy for so long. Not many people can do what you do; you should be proud."
Emily blushed at his comnt and quickly turned her gaze to the side. "It’s nothing, really. As a forr adventurer, I was doing what I could for my city."
Dorian smiled at her comnt, but it also got him thinking. Red District, according to his academic texts, was once supposed to be a fad city of adventurers. A haven populated with flourishing guilds and hidden dungeons, existing solely to benefit the nation. How could they have ignored it to the point it fell into such utter destruction?
Dorian shook his head, stretching his hand for a firm shake. "How about we make a deal?"
"A deal?" Emily leaned forward a bit, her hand stretched out a bit but still waiting to hear what the deal could be.
"I have intentions of removing the current Governor; I can’t have an accomplice of the Yaima still ruling now, can I? In return, I want you to beco the official ruler of this city. You fought for it; it’s only right that you rule. Besides, the people already see you as their leader."
Emily was a bit surprised Dorian actually asked her to rule. She had assud he would take on the role himself, like any other noble would have if they were in his shoes. It was a pretty fast and easy way for him to gain recognition and power.
"Are you sure you want it to be ? My job is simply to fight for my people. I never wished to rule as their leader or anything of the sort."
"I know. But this is a better way of serving your people as well." Dorian leaned his back on the chair. "I plan to make this city the first to carry out my project. Sothing like this would change the entire world if done right. Will you really miss a chance to be part of a revolution?"
Emily thought about it for a while. "If your lordship considers worthy of this, then I accept and promise to rule with all my power and loyalty to the throne."
Dorian smiled, now relaxed. ’I thought they would have deep hatred for Revina, but it seems they as well understand the issues co from the Governor and not the King. Good, now to make him pay for what he had done. Should be easy enough.’
