Dorian sat with both his arms resting on the table before him, listening intensely to what the God of Eternity had to say.

"For a long ti, we gods have ruled over the world, making sure order and control were being maintained. And for a long ti, we, the gods, have done this duty with utmost efficiency. As they say, the tables must turn at so point.

Despite our help to humanity and their weakness, they refused to adhere to us. Either our powers were being used for selfish reasons, or we were hated for ruling them as a whole."

Tezen leaned carefully against the chair as he continued.

"As retaliation, they tried to wage a war against us, learning the arts of summoning beings they called ’heroes’ from another world. We gods feared nothing. Hero or not, he was still a human. Killing him would simply send him back to his world. And that was what we did. Humans were forced to follow our rules, and everything was as it should be. Just and beautiful."

Dorian narrowed his gaze at that statent.

Even in the novels he had read in his forr world, not once had anyone used these exact words and actually had good intentions.

Nevertheless, Dorian only gave a reaction and didn’t bother to interrupt the God of Eternity. He, too, wanted to learn how Yahoshi sneaked into the story.

"Hundreds of years passed, and humans were still under the rule of the gods. Up until a being showed up. I believe he was called the Demon King, or was it the Dragon Monarch? " Tezen folded his arms.

"Whatever the case may be, this being was able to spark hope into humans once again, claiming he had the power to kill the gods."

"Did he?" Dorian asked instantly.

Tezen went silent for a while before giving a response.

"Yes, he did. In fact, he was so powerful that the gods began to fear him, giving him the title of ’god-killer.’ A being capable of killing a god had never been heard of until that exact mont of his coming." Tezen sighed as he readied himself to say the next part.

"In order to kill this being, we had to play dirty. Not many gods were on board with it, but those who were quickly mobilized their armies and sent them to Earth to battle this god-killer of a being."

"The legendary war between the gods and humans," Dorian chid in, rembering that a certain dragon once told him about it.

"Yes, this was how the war began. We were confident in our victory, but that was only before we saw the forces of the god-killer. Dragons. Beasts. Monsters. Demons. Creatures that had never been recorded in the realm of the gods appeared before us, killing many of us in huge numbers."

Though it was only slight, Dorian could sense the sudden sadness that gripped the god as he continued,

"We died. Many of us. Over a thousand gods reduced to hundreds in less than a day. The god-killer had ford an army we were unable to counter. At the end, the god-killer won, but at the expense of his own death. No one truly knows how he died, but his essence had been completely erased from the world after his death."

"..."

"But in place of the death of the god-killer, another being spawned, wielding his powers and doing so with even more brutality. The God Witch." Tezen leaned forward, checking to see if what he had just said would give Dorian any kind of reaction.

"The God Witch, of course, made herself a god in a short period of ti, but years later, she too disappeared. After being targeted by the councils, she had sohow managed to hide herself sowhere, only to co out now, undetected, which is still another strange thing."

The next second, Dorian had stood to his feet. "What’s your point? This is the first ti I am hearing of this witch fellow, so I am afraid I am no use to you." Dorian tried to sideline the focus away from him.

"Oh no, you’ll be plenty useful. See, the two tis that the witch has been sighted have always been around you. And each ti, it has been to either take you or protect you from sothing."

Dorian tried to maintain his cool as much as he could.

"Now, what is that? No one has ever gotten that close to the witch and actually won. Yet, here you are, alive, and even blessed by her." Tezen now stood in front of Dorian."

Tell , if I were to kill you here, would that make her appear? "

Not even a second after he uttered those words, a huge thunderstrike echoed outside the domain, shaking the entire space. This made Dorian grin confidently at the god.

"Would you look at that? It seems the other gods are opposed to that."

Tezen sighed. "I figured as much. I wasn’t kidding when I said the gods loved you for so reason. Not only does that conclude that you cannot be the god-killer of legends, but it also further emphasizes the main question at hand." He stared intensely.

"Why is the witch interested in you? The two cannot make sense at once."

Dorian replied as best he could. "Your guess is as good as mine. Don’t you think the witch liking is a bit of a stretch? We’ve only t twice so far."

Tezen laughed a bit.

"You really haven’t noticed. Okay then, I’ll give you a single hint." He stretched his hand forward.

"Of all the gods, I was the only one who was able to see the face of the witch under the veil. Unless I am wrong, I do believe the witch is the one who stands closest to you."

Dorian’s eyes widened a bit.

He was certain Yahoshi was the witch; that much was certain, she had confird it herself.

So what could Tezen be talking about? ’Is he trying to trail off or sothing?’

Dorian thought to himself as Tezen continued.

"All the won around you carry the witch’s scent. So far, I do not understand why, but I will surely get to the bottom of it. As for the one who is disguised as your ally while being the witch herself, she is far closer than you think, and even more powerful. If she were weak, I would have killed her myself."

Dorian had a not-so-surprised look on his face.

"The fact you haven’t told who she is ans you intend to exchange sothing for this information. Am I correct?"

Tezen’s grin widened even more.

"You are smart. I like that." He played with his fingers on the table. "What I need from you is quite simple. Of course, I would never force you to do it."

"..."

The wide grin on Tezen’s face soon turned into a chilling one. "Allow to take over your body whenever I ask for it. In exchange, I promise not to hurt anyone that is not an enemy of the realm of gods."

Dorian sighed right after. It was an exasperated sigh, one that hinted he figured Tezen was going to ask for sothing he couldn’t ever say yes to.

"Let guess. You plan to use as a trap to get to the witch; is that correct?"

"Bingo. I like that I don’t have to dive too deep. You already understand. Good, we have that settled. The witch ans nothing to you, so this should not be a problem, correct? "

"No. I actually refuse." Dorian began picking his nose. "Sothing about having a god inside doesn’t sit right with , so I’ll humbly refuse. Besides..."

Dorian stood up from his seat, a serious look now playing on his face as he uttered his next words. "I plan to take care of the witch myself. You do yours, and I do mine. We are not partners in any way."

Just as Dorian had a serious look, so did the God of Eternity, his eyes glowing slightly.

"I see. Now I understand why the witch is close to you. By any chance, are you... the god-killer?" Tezen asked.

Dorian laughed, taking slow steps back until his back was pressing on the glass walls. "Bold of you to assu that. I am rely the Dragon Monarch."

Tezen’s eyes widened slowly.

"You are the Dragon Monarch?" He stood up, god-aura already dancing around him as he took slow steps forward.

"The Dragon Monarch, the god-killer, the King of Humans, the Demon Lord of Vanity, the Lord Harbinger. Only one person bore all these nas and carried out nurous wars against the gods."

Dorian now had his hand on the glass wall. "You think I am that person..."

"It doesn’t matter. You may be strong, but strength alone is not enough to defeat . If I keep you here long enough, I am sure that witch will show up."

Hearing this, Dorian grinned, a sly smile playing on his lips. "I knew it." Dorian slowly raised his head.

"You really can’t kill , can you? For so reason, every god here doesn’t want dead. At first, I thought it had to be from the love you claid they had for . But the story doesn’t add up, if you think I am the god-killer. Which ans the gods don’t particularly love , not all at least."

He then pointed at the God of Eternity mockingly. "You all are afraid of the Witch God. If I were to die, she would go on a killing spree, isn’t that right?"
