Granny Zhou’s actions truly terrified everyone. If soone really died, what would they do? It seed likely that Zhou Guangsheng and Fang Xiu would carry this burden for the rest of their lives, never able to be together.

But while she could scare everyone else, she couldn’t scare her own son, Zhou Guangsheng, whom she’d been frightening all along.

Zhou Guangsheng’s face turned ashen with anger when he saw his mother chasing after him and causing a scene. He felt incredibly guilty towards Fang Pingying and her husband; it was their first day of moving house, and they had to endure his mother making a scene.

He didn’t want the situation to escalate, so he stayed inside and had Luo Zhiyong send people to chase her away, or call the security guards to remove the person directly if necessary. They decided to discuss everything after today, as he and Fang Xiu had already received their marriage certificate; regardless of how much his mother made a fuss, she wouldn’t be able to change anything.

Later, when Granny Zhou actually took out a bottle of pesticide and brought it close to her mouth, nobody knew if she had actually drunk any. However, Zhou Guangsheng was so furious he could faint and completely lost his reason. Ignoring Luo Zhiyong and the others’ attempts to stop him, he rushed out and, faster than anyone else could react, snatched the bottle of pesticide from Granny Zhou’s hand and poured it into his mouth without hesitation.

By the ti everyone realized what happened and tried to intervene, Zhou Guangsheng had already swallowed a large mouthful of pesticide.

After swallowing, he threw the pesticide bottle aside and shouted at Granny Zhou, "There! If I die, it’s all over. You won’t be able to scare anyone with this anymore. I want to see who you can frighten then."

After Zhou Guangsheng said this, Granny Zhou was startled into silence; she looked at Zhou Guangsheng with uncertainty and lowered her head without speaking further.

But at the sa ti, Zhou Guangsheng had managed to shock everyone else too, because that was pesticide, sothing that could kill a person.

Everyone hurriedly approached to support Zhou Guangsheng.

Mr. Zhou, looking at Zhou Guangsheng, was wiping away tears and desperately shouted, "Guangsheng, why are you so foolish? That’s pesticide!"

Zhou Xiaoyan imdiately followed, supporting Zhou Guangsheng on the other side, "Big brother, how are you, how are you?"

Several mbers of the Zhou Family, along with Li Yuchun, Fang Ping’an, and others, huddled around Zhou Guangsheng, unsure what to do.

When Fang Pingying saw this scene, her legs went weak with terror. Forcing herself to calm down, she shouted at the completely stunned Luo Zhiyong, "Luo Zhiyong, quick, start the car, the car... take him to the hospital."

Upon hearing Fang Pingying ntion the hospital, everyone ca to their senses. Now, they needed to take him to the hospital for ergency treatnt as fast as possible.

However, nobody held much hope. Li Yuchun was so distraught that she couldn’t stand steadily and slumped to the ground, crying out, "How can this be okay? He swallowed such a large bottle of pesticide, how could there be any chance of saving him?"

If he really had drunk pesticide, these words were painfully true, and everyone fell silent, their faces a mix of concern and despair.

But at this mont, everyone had overlooked one detail: everyone had reacted except Fang Xiu, who stood still, staring in shock, but at the sa ti, everyone neglected her.

Fang Xiu, standing at a distance, seized the opportunity while everyone was extrely worried, ran quickly, picked up the pesticide bottle from the ground, and shouted to Fang Pingying and her parents, "Big sister, mom and dad, please, promise to take good care of Haohao."

As soon as Fang Xiu finished speaking, before anyone could stop her, she resolutely took the pesticide bottle that Zhou Guangsheng had drunk from and poured it into her own mouth.

Fang Xiu’s action terrified everyone all over again, especially Zhou Guangsheng. Seeing Fang Xiu go to such lengths for him, tears filled his eyes and he was rendered speechless.

In that mont, he was filled with regret. If only he knew it would co to this, he would rather they not be together than lose Fang Xiu.

He stood silently for a long ti, then suddenly looked up to the sky and let out a cry, his voice laden with despair and suppression, indeed enough to make any listener cry.

Thus, the entire courtyard was in chaos with people crying, shouting, and everything collapsed into turmoil.

Among the crowd, only Granny Zhou, who had earlier threatened to drink pesticide and it was unclear whether she did or not, sat on the ground appearing quite calm, her eyes staring blankly at Zhou Guangsheng and Fang Xiu.

Seeing Granny Zhou in this state, Li Yuchun completely lost her reason. She let go of Fang Xiu and charged at Granny Zhou, slapping her hard several tis and cursed, "You still watch? Watch what? Now your son and daughter-in-law are dead because of you. Let’s see what good cos to you. I’m telling you, if my Xiu’er dies like this, you’re going to be buried with her."

"You..."

Granny Zhou was dazed for a mont after being slapped, but when she ca to her senses, she was about to retaliate when Mr. Zhou grabbed her and slapped her several tis, furiously shouting,

"You old hag, I’ve said it before. Our son is all grown up; he has been married before and isn’t so naive boy. Fang Xiu might have done wrong in the past, but she has changed now, and they both have their hearts set. Let’s not pressure them anymore. You had to chase them all the way, and now you’ve killed our son and daughter-in-law. I’m telling you, if sothing happens to Guangsheng, you might as well not live."

After being scolded by Mr. Zhou, Granny Zhou stopped speaking.

Seeing this, Zhou Guangsheng called out to his father, "Dad, stop scolding. The deed is done; if I don’t survive, you all live well. If by chance I make it, don’t interfere in my affairs anymore."

He then turned to Granny Zhou and said with heartbreaking regret, "Mom, you always say you gave birth to and raised , that I should listen to you and be filial. This ti, I’ve repaid you with my life."

Zhou Guangsheng’s words made Mr. Zhou and Granny Zhou uncontrollably weep with a flood of regretful tears. Granny Zhou just cried without speaking, while Mr. Zhou, supporting Zhou Guangsheng, said with imnce regret, "Guangsheng, don’t talk, dad is sorry for you. I never should have believed your mother and stopped you two from being together."

After speaking, Luo Zhiyong arrived with the car, rushing out and calling, "Here, the car’s here, let’s go to the hospital!"

After helping Fang Xiu and Zhou Guangsheng into the car, they realized there was Granny Zhou too, who had also appeared to drink the pesticide. Mr. Zhou and Zhou Xiaoyan hurriedly went to pull her, "Hurry, get in the car, let’s go to the hospital together."

"I don’t need to go to the hospital, I’m fine." Granny Zhou’s face changed color, but she refused to get into the car.

Seeing her insistence, Fang Pingying really wanted to leave her be, to let her die if she wished to. Who could stop her? But fearing to delay help for Fang Xiu and the others, she shouted to the people in the yard, "Forget it, stop arguing, just carry them to the car."
