It’s really over now, truly over. There won’t be any more connections in the future.

My nose felt a little sour, and I couldn’t help but let the tears spill over.

But no matter how hard it is, it was I who asked for the divorce; I must continue on no matter how sad I feel.

At the door, she quickly wiped away her tears and adjusted her emotions. By the ti she returned to the living room, it looked as though nothing had happened.

After the divorce, Fang Pingying devoted all her attention to her business.

Since Fang Xiu didn’t get married, she too focused solely on her own shop. The shop was now supervised by Fang Pingying and Yu’er.

Fang Pingying figured that her shop had been operating for quite so ti, had many regular custors, and the business was good. Now that Fang Xiu had opened a branch elsewhere, if it went well, they could consider opening a few more branches in the future.

Fang Pingying thought it might be ti to renovate her original shop, to give the main store so distinguishing features from the branches.

That day, Fang Pingying was in the shop, sizing up the place, thinking, if it cos down to it, she might as well talk to Uncle Zeng about buying the shop next door. She might as well create sothing bigger and more upscale, to build her own brand.

While she and Yu’er were busy in the shop, suddenly juzi’s voice ca from the doorway, "Sister-in-law, what are you doing?"

Fang Pingying smiled and glanced at juzi, motioning for her to co in and sit down. She also gestured to Yu’er to take a break. She sat beside juzi, smiled, and pointed at the shop, "Thinking of expanding the shop; we’re not busy these days anyway."

juzi looked at her and said half-jokingly, "Is this because you no longer have a man by your side and have thrown all your energy into work?"

Fang Pingying glared at her, "With or without a man, I’ve always worked hard."

"Let tell you sothing." juzi said with a smile, then looked around. Seeing that only Yu’er was nearby, she asked Fang Pingying in a low voice, "Did you hear that Bai Jing is pregnant, and the child is Zhou Guangsheng’s?"

"Not according to Zhou Guangsheng." Speaking of this, Fang Pingying felt worried for Fang Xiu.

Zhou Guangsheng had always insisted the child wasn’t his, but Granny Zhou wished it were, as she grew close to Bai Jing and had never accepted Fang Xiu.

Originally, Fang Xiu had agreed to get married a month later, but now, due to Granny Zhou’s reaction, Fang Xiu simply refused to proceed with the marriage. At least not until Bai Jing gave birth and it was certain that the child wasn’t Zhou Guangsheng’s.

Perhaps influenced by Fang Pingying’s divorce, Fang Xiu felt Granny Zhou was no better than Yun i. She didn’t want to end up divorced as well.

Another divorce would an her third marriage, and she couldn’t accept that.

But how much Fang Xiu liked Zhou Guangsheng had been obvious to everyone. Thus, Zhou Guangsheng and Fang Xiu were now dragging their feet—neither marrying nor breaking up, but certainly lacking the ease of their previous dating days.

Upon hearing Fang Pingying’s words, juzi said hastily, "Actually, I believe Zhou Guangsheng. I also doubt it’s his child. Yesterday I saw Bai Jing at the hospital."

Fang Pingying, sensing she had more to say, asked quickly, "What happened?"

juzi said, "I just ca from the hospital where I saw Bai Jing, heavily pregnant, quarreling with that sa older man we saw when we were shopping; they even ntioned the child. I suspect the child is from that older man we saw before."

Fang Pingying recalled a ti when she and juzi, while shopping, indeed saw Bai Jing arm in arm with an older man; juzi had also taken a photo of Bai Jing with that man.

This suggested the child was indeed that older man’s.

Perhaps he already had a family and only wanted a fling with Bai Jing. Now that Bai Jing was pregnant, the older man refused to acknowledge the child, hence their dispute.

Thinking this, Fang Pingying nodded in agreent with juzi, "That’s possible. Zhou Guangsheng isn’t one to lie. He has always explained to Fang Xiu that the child isn’t his, saying they hadn’t been together even once in the period before their planned marriage. But Fang Xiu is afraid of that tiny possibility."

Upon hearing this, juzi sighed and exclaid, "How foolish Fang Xiu is! If I were her, I’d insist on getting married. Actually, Bai Jing probably just wants to ruin their relationship. She’s not happy herself and doesn’t want Zhou Guangsheng and Fang Xiu to be happy, so why comply with her wishes?"

Fang Pingying knew, from what juzi said, that with Bai Jing’s temperant, there was so truth to it. But rationally, she felt Fang Xiu was also right to clarity things before proceeding. After all, marriage isn’t sothing to gamble on out of spite.

She said, "It’s just too complicated. Zhou Guangsheng’s mother has always refused to accept Fang Xiu. If they get married and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law don’t get along, it’s indeed troubleso. Look at ; I’m an example."

juzi knew that Fang Pingying was just using herself as an example but must be hurting inside. She didn’t continue the subject but bitterly blad, "It’s all Bai Jing’s fault. She’s ruining one person after another."

Fang Pingying nodded; indeed, Bai Jing wasn’t a good person.

Without continuing about Bai Jing, Fang Pingying rembered that juzi ntioned going to the hospital. She looked at juzi with concern, noticing she didn’t seem ill but quite happy, and joked, "Right, what were you doing at the hospital? Got any news about your stomach?"

Unexpectedly, she guessed right. juzi glanced around and whispered to her, "Yeah, the doctor said I’m pregnant."

Fang Pingying was thrilled to hear it. juzi’s last child was lost because of her, and she had been unable to conceive since, which worried her more than anyone.

juzi getting pregnant was fantastic news for her.

Her eyes squinted in a smile as she playfully slapped juzi, "When did this happen? Why didn’t you tell , acting all sneaky like a thief, what’s up with that?"

juzi stuck her tongue out and said with a laugh, "My mother-in-law says that during the first three months of pregnancy, you shouldn’t spread the news, or the baby will be stingy."

Fang Pingying glanced at her with a smile, "You believe that stuff?"

juzi shrugged her shoulders, sowhat helplessly, "Well, my mother-in-law is quite strict. She doesn’t let us talk about it much at ho and doesn’t let go out much. I ca out today because I had to visit the hospital with my mom, so I took the chance to co see you."

Fang Pingying understood that for soone like juzi, who had been married for nearly three years and had finally conceived, the family would surely be anxious.

She was also concerned and advised juzi, "You have to be more careful when you’re pregnant, it wasn’t easy for you to conceive this ti."

juzi nodded, as she hadn’t prepared for her last pregnancy and hadn’t taken it seriously, but this ti she had been longing for a child and therefore was much more careful. She replied, "I know, now I don’t go out much, just between the shop and ho."
