Hearing Fang Pingying’s softened tone, yet unwilling to admit it verbally, Luo Zhiyong couldn’t help but smile helplessly. He reached out to lift her into his arms, gently kissed her face, and raised an eyebrow as he smiled, "Hey, are you still going to be unreasonable? Haven’t I already admitted my fault?"

Fang Pingying huffed at him, "Was that what you call an apology just now? You were completely perfunctory."

"Alright, alright, not perfunctory." Luo Zhiyong, still holding her, began to chuckle into her neck, truly feeling that he had been a bit too harsh with his words last night. However, given his nature, he had always been extrely firm with his word outside of ho and couldn’t bring himself to genuinely apologize to his wife.

Fang Pingying, of course, was aware of his nature and didn’t push him to apologize further. Yet she felt that the matter concerning Luo Zhiming was not trivial and needed to be made clear.

Thus, she pushed away his head from her neck and said sternly, "What I told you last night was the truth. You know what kind of person Juzi is; she’s not the type to gossip. And you haven’t been ho these past years; you don’t really understand Zhiming’s personality. He could very well make such a mistake."

She paused briefly, then continued, "Moreover, he’s already married now. If such an incident really occurred, it would be a big problem, potentially causing the entire family to fall apart. We cannot take this lightly."

Upon hearing this, Luo Zhiyong’s smile also faded a little as he nodded, "Right, I was too careless yesterday. After I get off work this afternoon, I’ll bike over there to ask the people in charge. If there really is such a problem, I will properly educate him."

Fang Pingying nodded; it seed that for now, this was the only solution.

As she began to dress, she said, "Get up, let’s have breakfast, you still have to go to work."

Seeing that she was no longer angry, Luo Zhiyong chuckled under his breath and pulled her into his embrace, his hands circling her waist, his expression a bit displeased as he stared at Fang Pingying, "Rember, if you ever get angry with again, you can’t skip making breakfast."

Fang Pingying cast a sidelong glance at him, puffing up her cheeks, "Didn’t I tell you to eat at the canteen? Has your taste beco so picky that you can’t even eat in the canteen for a day?"

Luo Zhiyong sighed helplessly and looked down at her with the air of soone giving a lesson, "And what about you? Skipping breakfast?"

Hearing him still consider her at this mont, a warm current surged in Fang Pingying’s heart – who says this man is cold-hearted? She finds him very attentive.

She gave a sweet smile but feigned annoyance, "What’s the use of eating breakfast when I am already full from anger?"

Luo Zhiyong sighed with a smile, looking at her helplessly, "What’s there to be angry about? If you had just been patient and explained the whole matter clearly yesterday, wouldn’t it be cleared up like today?"

Fang Pingying rolled her eyes at him, "With the way you were acting yesterday, did you really look like you wanted to talk things through? You would’ve gulped down if you could."

"I did want to swallow you whole." Luo Zhiyong’s voice was low and husky. After speaking, his heated gaze fixed onto Fang Pingying, small flas flickering in his eyes.

"Stop ssing around; ti for work." Fang Pingying was all too familiar with what that look ant. Her face reddened as she pushed him away, "I’ll make you a bowl of noodles; go take a shower. Eat quickly and go to work, or you’ll be late."

Luo Zhiyong pulled her back into his arms and whispered in her ear, "You should be thankful I have to go to work today, otherwise, you’d be facing on-the-spot punishnt."

Fang Pingying gave him a playful glare and urged him to take his shower while she grabbed so fresh clothes for him.

This is how couples are – spatting at the head of the bed but reconciling at the foot. Last night she was so angry that she didn’t even want to deal with him, but with just a little coaxing from him, she suddenly felt there wasn’t much to be upset about.

Luo Zhiyong left for work after breakfast, and Fang Pingying tidied up the house before noticing the wages Luo Zhiyong had left on the desk from yesterday.

In the last six months, Luo Zhiyong’s salary had increased; he was now making over sixty yuan a month.

He had given ten yuan to Zhiming yesterday, leaving more than fifty yuan remaining.

Fang Pingying was considering sending tens of dollars back ho if she went to the city in the next few days, and the rest could be used for this month’s living expenses and to buy a few things.

However, Fang Pingying had no plans to buy anything else except for the wooden sofa that she had on her mind. She planned to go to the city with Luo Zhiyong on his day off over the weekend to take a look; even if it was expensive, she wanted to buy that sofa.

This way, they could save the money for chairs and have a comfortable place to sit on regular days, and if guests ca over, they could lay it out as a bed instead of constantly having to sleep on the floor.

In the evening, after preparing dinner and seeing that Luo Zhiyong hadn’t returned on ti, Fang Pingying guessed he had gone to Luo Zhiming’s place. She kept the food warm on the stove while she sewed clothes for Luo Chun and Xiao Juzi at ho and waited for him to co back.

It wasn’t until around eight o’clock that Fang Pingying saw Luo Zhiyong return with a dark expression on his face. Guessing that things were not good on Luo Zhiming’s side, she didn’t ask too much but softly said, "Let’s eat first, and we can talk after the al."

Luo Zhiyong nodded and sat down at the table.

The two of them ate the al in silence.

Fang Pingying cleaned up everything before she softly asked Luo Zhiyong, "What’s going on with Zhiming? Is it true about him and that woman?"

Upon hearing Luo Zhiming’s na, Luo Zhiyong beca angry, "Yes, it’s true. A divorced woman, even a few years older than him. People say you can tell she’s not decent just by looking, and yet those two really got involved with each other."

"Did you ask him and he admitted directly?" Fang Pingying thought Luo Zhiming would not easily admit such a thing in front of Luo Zhiyong.

"Would he dare to admit it?" Luo Zhiyong roared, "I had to go ask the foreman, and after pushing him, he finally admitted it."

"So how is this being resolved now?"

Luo Zhiyong was silent for a mont before saying, "He promised he would break it off with that woman. The foreman said she’s just a temp worker, and the temporary work at the wood factory is finished. She hasn’t been coming for the last two days."

"Where is that woman from? Is she from the city or did she co here for work?" Fang Pingying was most worried about potential problems; after all, what’s done is done, but unresolved issues could be problematic.

Luo Zhiyong was also concerned but still held so hope, "Not sure. The factory said they hired a temp worker and didn’t ask in detail, but from her accent, she’s from out of town. She probably went back ho after leaving here and shouldn’t be around anymore."

"If that’s really the case, it’s for the best." If the woman wasn’t local, there wouldn’t be too much concern—perhaps just a passing fancy. If she was from nearby, it would be harder to say; who knows, they might continue to ss around.

Since things seed to have settled, Fang Pingying tried to console Luo Zhiyong, "Since it’s already resolved, there’s no need to be angry anymore. He’s not even here; your anger is pointless."

"How co after just a few years away from ho, everyone becos so troubleso? Zhiming is like this, Cui Lan is like this as well. I don’t know how they managed their lives at ho these years." After saying this, Luo Zhiyong sighed. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welco to vote for it at Qidian (qidian) by recomnding and giving monthly tickets.
