Who knew Luo Zhiming would pick up the item, glance at it, and then disdainfully throw it on the table with a face full of disgust, "I’m sick of eating this at ho, it’s sickeningly sweet, I don’t like it."
Fang Pingying glanced at him and said indifferently, "Then go hungry, we’ll be having lunch soon anyway."
Luo Zhiming felt that since he was visiting Fang Pingying, her treatnt towards him was too cold, as if she disliked his presence.
Frowning, he said, "Sister-in-law, this is my first visit here, how can you treat like this? If my brother knew how you treat guests, he would probably not be pleased."
Fang Pingying, infuriated yet amused, raised an eyebrow and looked at him, "Should I go to the office and call your elder brother back to make you noodles? He makes delicious noodles, I’ll call him right now."
Saying this, Fang Pingying actually made a move as if she was genuinely going to call Luo Zhiyong back to cook noodles for him.
Seeing this, Luo Zhiming imdiately chuckled slyly and said ingratiatingly, "Never mind, never mind, I’ll just eat so of this."
Fang Pingying glanced at him again and couldn’t bother to speak further.
Seeing him sitting in the living room, she went into the bedroom herself. The door to the study was open, but she slightly nudged the newly built wooden wall door.
Fang Pingying tidied up the room a bit, and before long, Luo Zhiyong also returned from outside.
Upon entering the door, Luo Zhiyong imdiately noticed Luo Zhiming half-reclining on the wooden chair, feeling a surge of anger.
After returning to the office just now, Huang Lin had specifically called his uncle and found out that Luo Zhiming had been quite irresponsible these past few days on the communal land.
He had worked less than ten days, always arriving late and leaving early, and last night he went out on his own to play, resulting in so bricks from the construction site being stolen.
Huang Lin’s uncle, seeing that he was soone introduced by his own family, rely scolded him a little, saying that the loss of the bricks was his responsibility and would be deducted from his wages. However, since it was hard for him to co out to work, they would deduct a little each month and still pay him the remainder according to regulations, which was quite generous.
But Luo Zhiming actually argued with Huang Lin’s uncle and even said such a nial job wasn’t worth his ti, claiming there were plenty of other places waiting for him to work.
In the end, the other party didn’t drive him away; he quit the job himself.
They didn’t make him compensate monetarily, just withheld his wages from those ten or so days as compensation. He then made a scene at the construction site, and it was only controlled when Huang Lin’s uncle called so people over.
Huang Lin’s uncle fiercely scolded Huang Lin over the phone, warning that if Huang Lin ever recomnded such people to his construction site again, he would beat Huang Lin to death.
Having been scolded by his uncle, Huang Lin relayed the whole story to Luo Zhiyong.
Luo Zhiyong was furious at the ti, thinking that if Luo Zhiming had been in front of him then, he would have beaten him to death.
Luo Zhiming, using his na outside to work, not only failed to work responsibly but also caused trouble everywhere, even involving Huang Lin. Fortunately, it was Huang Lin’s uncle; if it had been soone else, it would have made Huang Lin’s life difficult.
Before coming back, Luo Zhiyong had already suppressed his anger, planning to reason with him properly since he was already an adult.
But upon returning and seeing Luo Zhiming not only without a trace of remorse but also sitting arrogantly in the chair, smoking a cigarette, his anger could no longer be contained.
He walked over and kicked Luo Zhiming, shouting loudly, "Luo Zhiming, with the way you’re behaving, stop everything and get back to your hotown right now."
Luo Zhiming felt the pain and jumped up holding his foot, crying out. Seeing Luo Zhiyong glaring at him with a dark face, he dared not continue and sat back down with his head lowered.
Fang Pingying, hearing the noise, ca out of the room and asked, "What’s going on here?"
Seeing her co out, Luo Zhiyong, still angry, called out to her, "Pingying, go make lunch. After we eat, I’ll take this kid to the train station and have him go back imdiately."
Fang Pingying knew Luo Zhiyong ant what he said and didn’t say much; she just nodded and went to the kitchen to cook.
Only Luo Zhiyong and Luo Zhiming were left in the living room.
Luo Zhiyong kept scolding while Luo Zhiming, knowing he was at fault, said nothing.
After a while, seeing that Luo Zhiyong had almost vented his anger, Luo Zhiming spoke up pleadingly, "Big brother, I don’t want to go back. I still want to work in the provincial city."
Luo Zhiyong glanced at him coldly, "You can’t even handle a job guarding a construction site, what else can you do?"
"That job was too tough," Luo Zhiming quietly ntioned people asking him to move bricks.
"Tough?" Fortunately, Huang Lin had just phoned his uncle, and Luo Zhiyong knew what happened, "I just called and asked people about it; those so-called moving bricks were just occasionally helping to pick up a few bricks, not blocking the way. Is that what you call moving bricks?"
"I..."
Luo Zhiming wanted to argue, but Luo Zhiyong frowned and glared at him, "I know everything that’s happening there; everything has been told to . Don’t think you can lie to ."
Since Luo Zhiyong knew the truth, Luo Zhiming dare not lie any further.
But within five minutes, he began to shirk responsibility again, "Big brother, the brick-losing incident yesterday really wasn’t my fault. I only left ten minutes early and had asked soone to keep an eye on it. Little did I know that the person had no sense of responsibility. He agreed, then turned around and left, and that’s how the bricks got lost."
This was indeed true; even Huang Lin’s uncle had ntioned that Luo Zhiming had instructed soone else before he left. However, it was still Luo Zhiming’s responsibility as it was his job, and the others were rely helping him out of goodwill.
Since the scolding was already done, Luo Zhiyong had cald down and began speaking earnestly to Luo Zhiming, "Zhiming, you’re not getting any younger, you’re twenty-three this year. We’ve helped you arrange a marriage at ho. If I were at ho too, our brothers might even be splitting the household and living separately by now. It’ll be up to you to support the family."
"But with your behavior, you can’t manage farm work at ho, nor can you handle work in the city. What exactly are you planning to do? Do you really think money is that easy to co by in the provincial city, just waiting for you to pick it up?"
Luo Zhiming pursed his lips, murmuring softly, "Big brother, when you first told to co work in the city, you said it would be a good job, not a construction site like that."
"I would like to find you a good job, but can you handle it?" Luo Zhiyong was utterly helpless, "Can you handle docuntation or do you have any special skills?"
Luo Zhiming heard this and hung his head, saying nothing.
After a while, he spoke again, pleading with Luo Zhiyong, "Big brother, I know I ssed up this ti. It’s also because I’ve never worked outside before and lack work experience. Next ti I will do my best and not cause you any trouble."
"This ti, when sister-in-law and I ca here, father, mother, and Xiu’er were so happy. They are still waiting for to send money back to make their lives easier. If I go back now without earning any money, and after having spent quite a lot on the travel, I wouldn’t have the face to return." (To be continued.
