Zhou Yun i couldn’t help feeling better at the thought of Luo Zhiming and Fang Xiu giving her a grandson.

She put so effort into the lunch, stir-fried dried tofu with at, pan-fried stuffed green peppers, and even took out a strip of cured at that was given to her during the Mid-Autumn Festival, cutting a small piece to fry with so dried radish from her own jar.

Such a al was indeed very sumptuous.

After Zhou Yun i finished cooking, Luo Hong Lan bounced off toward the courtyard, saying, "Mom, I’m going to call sister-in-law and the others for dinner."

"Wait a minute." Zhou Yun i frowned and imdiately stopped her, "Don’t call your sister-in-law. If she doesn’t want to cook, she shouldn’t eat what I make either."

Luo Hong Lan was displeased, looking at Zhou Yun i and said, "Mom, what are you talking about? How can you refuse to feed sister-in-law?"

"I haven’t refused to feed her. The food is in the pot, and all the dishes are on the table. I didn’t say she couldn’t eat when it’s ti for als. But if she stays in her room and doesn’t co out by alti, acting like so kind of Mada, expecting others to call her, then fine, eat or don’t eat." Zhou Yun i went on a long tirade, gnashing her teeth in her heart about Fang Ping Ying not cooking today.

However, Fang Ping Ying had actually gotten up by the ti Zhou Yun i said this and was standing at the doorway to the kitchen.

She smiled faintly and walked right into the room, continuing Zhou Yun i’s point, "Hong Lan, according to Mom’s words, you just need to call Dad to co back for dinner, no need to call anyone else. They haven’t done a single thing for the family, and they don’t co out when it’s ti to eat."

Hong Lan looked at Fang Ping Ying, then back at Zhou Yun i, not sure whether she should call everyone or not.

Zhou Yun i knew that Fang Ping Ying used these words to block her own, and couldn’t rebuttal. She glanced at Fang Ping Ying unpleasantly, then still told Luo Hong Lan, "What are you standing there for? Go out to the yard and call people to co eat."

"Mom, you are the elder, and I advise you not to be too biased. Otherwise, just be biased all the way and tell people directly that from now on, you’ll rely on Zhiming and his wife for retirent, and it doesn’t matter whether Zhiyong and I care about you." Fang Ping Ying wasn’t stopping people from eating, but she just couldn’t swallow the unfairness. Why should Zhou Yun i think she’s easy to bully and have her today’s al without an explanation?

"You..." If it were in the past, Zhou Yun i would have already started cursing, but she rembered what Luo Dashan told her and the fact that Fang Ping Ying had clearly touched on this topic. She had to think more about it.

She hemd and hawed, and finally managed to scold.

But all she did was smash the chopsticks she was holding onto the table in anger, saying, "Then don’t bother calling, just us few will eat and see if it looks good for a family to be like this."

Fang Ping Ying smiled lightly, looking at her, "If you had deliberately left out of the al earlier, Mom, do you think that would have been appropriate?"

Zhou Yun i pursed her lips and stopped talking.

Fang Ping Ying looked at her and smiled faintly, feeling quite pleased to have made the strong-willed and never-surrendering Zhou Yun i hold her tongue.

After all, Fang Ping Ying was just letting off steam. Seeing that Zhou Yun i had stopped talking, she said to Luo Hong Lan, "Hong Lan, first go to the field to call Dad, then call your second brother and the others to eat."

Luo Hong Lan actually felt that it wasn’t right not to call any family mber, but hearing Fang Ping Ying saying so, she laughed, called out for dinner in the yard, and then ran off to call Luo Dashan.

If Fang Ping Ying hadn’t co out earlier, Luo Hong Lan would still risk being scolded by Zhou Yun i to call her out for dinner.

After Luo Dashan ca back, Luo Hong Lan went to call Luo Zhiming and his wife and Luo Cuilan.

Luo Zhiming and his companion ca out quickly, but Luo Cuilan was not in the room.

Luo Honglan then went into the house to ask Zhou Yuni, "Mom, my sister isn’t ho. When did she leave?"

Zhou Yuni didn’t think much of it and said, "She must have gone to Jianguo’s house again. It’s already this late and she hasn’t returned; she must have eaten there. Let’s eat first."

Luo Honglan thought for a mont, took a bowl from the cabinet, and said, "How about we save so food for my sister? She rarely eats at Jianguo’s house."

Zhou Yuni also knew that her daughter usually didn’t eat at Jianguo’s place without a reason and nodded, saying, "Then save so, just in case she cos back and is too lazy to cook."

Zhou Yuni took the small bowl from Honglan’s hand and scooped so food into it for Luo Cuilan.

Fang Xiu saw that today’s food was good and that the family didn’t eat very much. Seeing Zhou Yuni save a small bowl with a generous portion for Luo Cuilan alone, she felt discontent and said sourly, "Mom, big sister really shouldn’t keep running over to other people’s houses with her wedding coming up so soon. Isn’t she afraid of being laughed at?"

Although Zhou Yuni also felt that it was inappropriate for Luo Cuilan to keep visiting her in-laws’ house, hearing it from Fang Xiu made her unhappy.

So she looked at Fang Xiu and sneered, "When you weren’t married to Zhiming yet, you often ran to our house. I didn’t see you getting laughed at."

"I never got pregnant before marriage," retorted Fang Xiu, taking a bite of food and laughing sarcastically.

Zhou Yuni, displeased, responded sarcastically, "What’s wrong with getting pregnant before marriage? You’re no better."

"You..." Fang Xiu glared angrily at Zhou Yuni, "I’ve never seen a mother-in-law who talks like this."

In the past, Fang Xiu had actually been quite tolerant of Zhou Yuni. Even when she felt uncomfortable about many things, she tried to accommodate her.

She thought that since Zhou Yuni controlled the household finances, if she could get on her good side, maybe she could squeeze so money out of her.

But she found that whether Zhou Yuni had much or little money, when her children pestered her for it, she would always give them so.

But as her daughter-in-law, she was always an outsider in her eyes, and no matter what, she would never give in.

Moreover, after their last argunt, Fang Xiu saw through it; Zhou Yuni was definitely not going to give her money. But each ti Luo Zhiming asked for it, he could get it, so why should she bother being t with cold treatnt?

She could just take money directly from Luo Zhiming instead. Zhou Yuni lost the value that Fang Xiu originally thought she had, so she naturally stopped being so polite.

Now, if Zhou Yuni spoke unpleasantly, she would speak even more rudely, and they could just argue. It wouldn’t be the first ti anyway.

And in this village, daughters-in-law quarreling with mothers-in-law was common, and nobody seed to make much of it.

Luo Zhiming saw that they had been getting along fine just a mont ago, and now the two of them were about to start quarreling again. He felt a headache coming on and quickly held onto Fang Xiu, coaxing her in a low voice, "Let’s eat first. After the al, we planned to go to the town. It will be too late if we don’t leave soon."

Fang Xiu had just found the two yuan Zhou Yuni gave to Luo Zhiming a couple of days ago. She had seen a pair of embroidered elastic shoes in the town’s supply and marketing cooperative that she planned to buy in the afternoon.

Hearing Luo Zhiming say this, she huffed and stopped her quarrel with Zhou Yuni, picking up her chopsticks and began eating as if no one else was there. (To be continued.
