Chapter 583: Chapter 583 Get Out of the Lu Family Chapter 583: Chapter 583 Get Out of the Lu Family Lu Xinyi said, “Since you all have no objections, let’s do it the way you suggest.”
Lu Yixuan said, “Then I’ll call them in. Dad, you can hand over the items to Yiting in front of us brothers.”
Without waiting for Lu Xinyi to object, he pulled open the door to the study and called Lu Yichen, Lu Yiting, and his wife into the study.
After a mont’s thought, Lu Xinyi understood that his two sons must have already discussed it. He was also aware of what they were doing and didn’t find anything wrong with it.
So he opened the safe, took out his deceased wife’s jewelry box, and found a list at the bottom. He handed them the list first and said, “Your mother’s things are all here; check them against the list.”
After about fifteen minutes, they finished checking the list and found that a pair of jade bracelets and a ‘xiangyun’ (auspicious cloud) hairpin were missing.
Lu Xinyi’s face looked extrely grim. At that mont, Lu Yichen said, “I’ve seen Cui Yueyue wearing those jade bracelets before, but I don’t know if she has the ‘xiangyun’ hairpin.”
Holding back his rage and sha, Lu Xinyi walked out of the study and called Geng Mingli into the bedroom: “Have you touched anything in the safe?”
Geng Mingli felt incredibly wronged: “Old Lu, what do you an? I’ve been part of this family for eight years; don’t you know who I am? How can you treat like this?”
Lu Xinyi said, “Then tell , where did Yueyue get the jade bracelets she wears on her wrist?”
No longer feeling wronged, Geng Mingli widened her eyes and said, “Are you saying the things Yueyue wears co from your safe?”
Lu Xinyi said, “Does she also have a ‘xiangyun’ jade hairpin?”
Geng Mingli turned pale, hurriedly left the room, and as Lu Yiting had just put the items away in her room and ca out to the living room, she saw her stepmother slap Cui Yueyue across the face.
Cui Yueyue, who had just changed clothes and was about to go out for a date, was shocked when her mother slapped her without warning; she scread, “Mom, have you gone mad?”
Geng Mingli said, “Where did the bracelets you wore before co from?”
Lu Yixuan had Wang Xiaoxin take the two kids upstairs to Lu Yiting’s room, while he and Lu Yichen stood there waiting to retrieve their mother’s possessions.
Cui Jianhua, looking bewildered, asked, “Mom, what are you talking about?”
Geng Mingli ignored her own son, focusing instead on Cui Yueyue, and asked again, “Where are those things, and that ‘xiangyun’ jade hairpin? Hurry up and bring them out; how could I have raised soone as disgraceful as you?”
Cui Yueyue had not expected to be exposed, especially since there were so many items in there—how did they find out?
This was an instance of cleverness leading to trouble; she had no idea those items were Lu Yichen’s birth mother’s dowry, nor did she know there was a list inside. She just thought there were so many items, taking one or two wouldn’t be noticed as the box would still appear full.
She had intended to bluff her way through, but her mother didn’t give her the chance, as she went directly to her room and after searching, found the pair of jade bracelets and the jade hairpin.
Cui Yueyue intended to rush over and snatch them back, but Lu Yichen tripped her with his foot. Geng Mingli handed the items to Lu Xinyi, who carefully inspected them before passing them on to Lu Yixuan.
He said coldly, “Cui Yueyue, since you and your mother entered the Lu Family ho, I have always treated you leniently, yet I never expected you to collude with outsiders. How disappointed they must be for you not accomplishing their goals.”
“Now, pack your things imdiately and get out of the Lu Family ho. If you dare to co back, I will put out a statent in the newspaper. You’re over eighteen now, and I’ve raised you to adulthood. Since I can’t dosticate you, better return to where you ca from.”
Crying, Cui Yueyue said, “You can’t treat like this; I won’t leave.”
Lu Xinyi said sternly, “It’s not up to you.”
Then he turned to Geng Mingli and Cui Jianhua, “If you want to leave with her, I won’t stop you.”
Cui Jianhua was overwheld, with his wedding just three days away; now that his sister had caused such a big issue, what was he going to do?
