Capítulo 1683: Chapter 1684: Comparison Breeds Frustration
Luo Qiao casually remarked, “This issue really is tough to handle, if not done right it could lead to complaints later on.”
Ji Lin then sighed and said, “The woman who drank a toasting cup with my brother-in-law is known to Ji Wei as well, she was classmates with my older sister-in-law. They were once an item, but her family didn’t agree back then, so they broke up. Later, she t and married my older sister-in-law through a blind date.
Ji Wei couldn’t hold it in and hit her on the spot that day, and the issue hasn’t been resolved yet. The next day, my niece hurt her legs and was hospitalized.”
Luo Qiao asked puzzled, “Then what about Ji Wei’s brother-in-law, doesn’t he care about his daughter being in the hospital?”
Ji Lin awkwardly mumbled, “He got a good beating from Ji Wei.”
After speaking, she rubbed her forehead, feeling embarrassed.
Luo Qiao burst out laughing, “You guys really go for it, how badly was he beaten?”
Ji Lin lightly coughed, “Two ribs were broken.”
“And him, did he get hospitalized too?”
“The doctor said hospitalization wasn’t necessary, just recovery at ho would do.”
Luo Qiao didn’t know what to say, “Alright, you guys better take it easy on this matter. Seeing is believing, but sotis it’s better to let others handle their own affairs. Just be a supportive backup.”
Ji Lin nodded, “True, if we push them to split up, they might bla us later. Anyway, you go ahead, I’ve got to head back and make so soup.”
Luo Qiao had lunch in the hospital cafeteria, and in the afternoon she needed to return to the lab, as the project they were researching had hit a snag and she had to check in.
Just after eating, she was walking back with a colleague when she saw Taifeng heading her way with a girl.
Luo Qiao smiled and asked, “Who’s this girl?”
Taifeng flashed a big, bright smile, “Auntie, this is Mai Miao, my girlfriend. I brought her to et you all.”
Luo Qiao had her colleague go on ahead, fearing that a crowd might scare the young girl.
After the colleague left, she said, “Co to my office and sit for a bit.”
But Taifeng shook his head, “We won’t go up. I’m on a half-day leave and have to go ho and then visit the machine factory. I’ll co to see Auntie another day, ti is tight today.”
Upon hearing this, Luo Qiao thought it seed the relationship was confird; otherwise, he wouldn’t bring her to et the family.
Luo Qiao then took a closer look at the girl across from her, “Hello, I’m Luo Qiao, Taifeng’s aunt. Welco to our big family.”
The girl smiled brightly, “Hello, Auntie. I’m Mai Miao. Nice to et you. Taifeng often talks about his family.”
Luo Qiao joked, “What does he say about us?”
Mai Miao giggled and glanced at Taifeng, “He says he owes his current success to the family’s efforts. If it weren’t for you taking him out, he might still be a cowherd boy.”
A hint of affection glimred in Luo Qiao’s eyes, “Our Taifeng is a determined one, his success is all due to his hard work. Since you’ve confird your relationship, you should support and get along well with each other.”
Both Mai Miao and Taifeng responded with a soft “Mm.”
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Taifeng then left with Mai Miao.
Watching the two walk off into the distance, Luo Qiao thought to herself, “Ti really flies. Taifeng was just eight when he was brought back, and now he’s about to get married. It truly feels like the woes of a mother-in-law.”
Haha, being lodramatic, actually considering herself an elder. It’s just a sentint, realizing one isn’t young anymore.
Back at her office, she tidied up and drove back to the school. The research group had been doing repeated experints, coming up just short each ti. Upon returning, Luo Qiao wasted no ti, changed her clothes, and got right into work mode.
After countless failures throughout the afternoon, they finally managed to produce a set of qualified data. Everyone was quite excited, perford three additional experints, and when the results ca out, they burst into cheers.
Who would’ve thought it would take them a week of experints to produce the results they wanted.
Though Professor Luo hadn’t succeeded on the first attempt either, failing ti and again before finally succeeding, it’s still infuriating when comparing oneself to others.
Nonetheless, they’ve achieved the desired data, which is a good thing. Everyone clamored to celebrate in the evening, but Luo Qiao said she had to go back and cook for the family, so she didn’t join. She wondered if Lu Yichen would be moved when he found out.
