Luo Chen nodded, "Alright, for Auntie’s sake, let’s give it a try."
Luo Qiao laughed, "You’re such a little adult, Auntie thanks you in advance."
She handed him a plate of food, "Take this into the dining room, let’s start eating."
Luo Chen took the plate and had just left the kitchen when he saw a few adults coming out as well. He let out a little haughty ’hmph’ and entered the living room.
Luo Qiao shook her head with a smile and said to Lu Yichen, who had co out to help, "Take the small coal stove into the room and keep the soup warm on it, so it won’t get cold when we want to drink it later."
Lu Yichen smiled and said, "Sure, leave it to ."
During the al, both children were very well-behaved, which made Luo Feng curious about why his son was so calm.
Shen Juan used serving chopsticks to help the two children with so food. Luo Chen, although he didn’t say thanks, didn’t say anything he shouldn’t either.
Luo Xin, on the other hand, looked up and smiled at Shen Juan, "Thank you, Auntie."
This lted Shen Juan’s heart, and she responded with a sincere smile, "You’re welco."
Perhaps sensing Shen Juan’s sincerity, Luo Chen didn’t target Shen Juan during the al.
This child is sensitive; he knows his dad will eventually remarry and understands since they moved back to the family quarters, many aunts in the courtyard have been introducing won to his dad.
Even though he’s young, he knows so people have ill intentions, and he’s heard plenty about his family while playing outside.
But he inexplicably trusts Luo Qiao, knowing she won’t hurt them, and feels kindness from Auntie Shen. Thus, he didn’t cause any trouble during this al.
Since there was work in the afternoon, Shen Juan helped Luo Qiao tidy up before preparing to leave.
Lu Yichen looked at Luo Feng, the aning clear, "Luo Feng, drive Comrade Shen Juan back to the office."
Luo Feng laughed and nodded, knowing the bureau chief was creating an opportunity for him, "Okay, Chief."
Luo Qiao pulled Shen Juan aside to check the situation. Once she confird things were promising between them, she let her go.
After sending off Shen Juan, Luo Qiao divided up so of the marinated beef, crispy at, and atballs she made in the morning, and said to Luo Chen, "Take these ho later as extra dishes for New Year’s."
Luo Chen scratched his head, "I’d better not take them. We haven’t finished the last batch, and my dad scolded us."
Luo Qiao teased him, "Really not taking them?"
Luo Chen slled the aroma, unable to utter the words "not taking." His conflicted expression made Luo Qiao burst into laughter, "Alright, seeing you so torn. If you’re really embarrassed, rember to buy so goodies in return when you’re grown up and capable."
Hearing her, Luo Chen’s eyes lit up, "Sure, when I’m grown up and have money, I’ll definitely buy Auntie lots of goodies."
Luo Qiao reached out to rub his little head and laughed.

The next day, Lu Yichen kept his word and accompanied Luo Qiao for a big shopping trip. Vegetables, fruits, at, and eggs weren’t needed since Yipin would deliver them on ti.
The couple first went to order roast duck, setting a ti for pickup, and then bought so pastries, candies, and other household seasonings and groceries.
While buying, they imdiately divided them up, saving trouble later.
They first delivered a portion to Grandpa and Grandma’s, only to run into Big Brother and Sister-in-law bringing supplies as well. Fortunately, only a small part of what they bought overlapped, and it was stuff that could last longer.
Zhou Guifang looked at the things delivered back, "Hurry and call them, and let them know what we already have at ho so they don’t end up buying duplicates."
Luo Xuyan, fearing grandma might get upset, promptly agreed and went to make the call.
Woo Yuni laughed, "Grandma, even if we buy duplicates, it’s fine. We have so many people, and if everyone gives it their best, we can finish it all."
This made the old lady laugh and scold, "If we really do that, we’d be wasting food and burdening our stomachs."
Woo Yuni hugged the old lady’s shoulders, "Just trying to spare you the heartache or worry."
Zhou Guifang’s face turned serious, "I know you an well and that your lives are easier now, but wasting is truly unacceptable."
Woo Yuni listened and also beca serious, "Grandma, I’ll keep this in mind. Next ti, we can make a list and take turns, so there’s no waste or mistakes."
This brought a smile to Zhou Guifang’s face, "Hmm, that’s a good idea."
Luo Qiao, seeing her grandma happy, chid in, "Grandma, I have marinated beef, crispy at, and atballs in the car. They’ll make a perfect addition to tomorrow’s New Year’s Eve dinner."
Woo Yuni, upon hearing about marinated beef, said, "Qiaoqiao, no matter how we marinate, we can’t replicate your flavor; really, with your marinated beef, I could eat an extra bowl of rice."
Luo Qiao laughed, "Sister-in-law, I brought plenty. You can take so ho when you visit your family on the second day, a dish for Auntie and them."
Woo Yuni hugged Luo Qiao, "Qiaoqiao, you’re really the best."
Luo Qiao was amused by her sister-in-law’s gesture, but she still pushed her away, "Sister-in-law, you’re so sappy; better go sweet-talk my brother."
With that, she ran into the living room, where she could be playful with her nephews and nieces.
Zhou Guifang, seeing her nieces and sisters getting along, wore a broad smile.
The children inside, hearing the commotion outside, were putting on thick clothes, ready to head out into the courtyard. Hearing their aunt brought marinated beef, they couldn’t hold back as their mouths watered.
Luo Pengyun and Luo Zitong, the siblings who loved beef the most, ran to Luo Qiao, "Auntie, can we slice so marinated beef at lunch to satisfy our cravings?"
