Old Lady Ning didn’t see herself as an outsider at all, turning to Ning Ziping and saying, "Go, pour a cup of water."

Mother Wang heard this and suddenly realized her own oversight—she hadn’t even poured water yet. She quickly said, "That’s my fault, I’ll do it, I’ll do it."

She turned, picked up the teapot from the tray, added tea leaves to it, and then used the thermos sitting on the floor to brew tea.

Old Lady Ning sat there calmly watching Mother Wang brew the tea, thinking to herself, "Now I’ve got leverage over her daughter. She’s got no choice but to serve carefully."

After the tea was poured, Mother Wang said, "Drink tea, drink tea. I was careless earlier, I hope you can be forgiving, in-law."

Old Lady Ning took a sip of tea before slowly saying, "You should know who Wei Liling is, right?"

Mother Wang’s hand trembled while pouring tea for the others, nearly scalding herself.

Old Lady Ning had been watching Mother Wang’s expression closely, and ntally let out a contemptuous "hmph," thinking, "Keep pretending."

Mother Wang froze for a mont but quickly recovered, responding, "The na does sound familiar, but I can’t recall who that is."

Old Lady Ning reached into her pocket and pulled out a few photos, slapping them onto the table: "Then take a look at this—do you recognize it?"

The mont she saw the photos, Mother Wang felt like she had been turned to stone. The photos showed Wei Liling and her own daughter, Wang Hailan. Seeing them nearly made her faint from rage, thinking, "Has Hailan gone mad? At this point in ti, why on earth is she still eting Wei Liling?"

But in the next mont, sothing felt off. "When did Wei Liling return to Capital City? I wasn’t even aware. How did the Ning Family find out, and how did they manage to get these photos?"

She suddenly raised her head and glared at her son-in-law sitting nearby: "Ziping, don’t be fooled by these photos! Hailan wouldn’t do anything to betray you."

Ning Ziping raised his head and coldly looked at his mother-in-law: "Wouldn’t do anything to betray ? Then how do you explain the fake pregnancy?"

Mother Wang hadn’t expected that even this matter was known to her son-in-law. Her face instantly turned awkward.

She thought to herself, "That damn girl is so careless. Originally, Ning Ziping was willing to arrange a fake divorce to claim his son. Now, how are we supposed to clean up this ss?"

It was enough to drive a person crazy.

Mother Wang realized at this point that the Ning Family had co fully prepared. She also knew that the Ning Family wouldn’t let her daughter off easily. What happened back then really was her family’s fault. Her daughter had hoped to live well with Ning Ziping after the wedding, but after losing that illegitimate child, she could never conceive again.

Life was truly unjust. If only she could’ve given birth to a child for the Ning Family, none of this would have happened.

Mother Wang decided not to waste any more ti fussing over pleasantries. She found a place to sit down and spoke coolly: "So, what is it you want by coming here today?"

Old Lady Ning finished her cup of tea leisurely and poured herself another cup without a hint of haste: "What do we want? My son has shouldered the bla for so many years—it can’t be for nothing. The Wang Family must give us an explanation."

Mother Wang’s face darkened: "The rest of the family isn’t ho right now, and I can’t make decisions on my own. If you feel wronged, then wait until my husband cos ho from work—you can co back then."

Old Lady Ning had co prepared and wasn’t planning to leave anyti soon: "Coming and going multiple tis seems like too much trouble. We might as well wait right here until your husband gets ho. After all, the in-laws are here; surely, you wouldn’t leave us without a al?"

She added sarcastically, "Besides, the fault doesn’t lie with our Ning Family. If worse cos to worst, we’ll wait outside your front door instead. We can tell your neighbors about the despicable things your Wang Family has done and let them help judge if we’ve been wronged."

Mother Wang was so enraged she felt like she might faint.

Her head spun wildly, and she feared her blood pressure was skyrocketing.

Old Lady Ning, true to her word, noticed it was nearly noon and gave Ning Ziping a subtle glance to signal him to make lunch.

Ning Ziping cleared his throat and stood up: "It’s almost lunchti. You all sit tight—I’ll go make sothing to eat."

This wasn’t the first ti he had cooked during visits to his in-laws, but today, saying these words carried a different mood—a tone tinged with bitterness.

While Ning Ziping headed to the kitchen, Mother Wang took the opportunity to slip out the front door. With such a big ss unfolding at ho, she needed to warn her husband in advance. Otherwise, knowing his temperant, he might agree to any demand the Ning Family made.
