However, she still asked Lu Yichen to find another person to stay at ho, so when they were both busy, they could pick up and drop off the children, or run errands when things ca up at ho, after all, the old couple were getting on in years, and she was a bit worried.
To her surprise, Lu Yichen told her that he had already found soone, who would co over after the New Year. It seed she had been worrying over nothing.
After grabbing her bag and saying goodbye to the old couple, she left ho.
The snow had fallen heavily yesterday, but the neighbors had already cleared the snow in front of their houses. She hailed a taxi and headed for the Jing Family’s place.
A lot had changed in Capital City over the year, and Luo Qiao chatted with the taxi driver, learning quite a few new things from him.
The two of them seed to enjoy their conversation.
When she arrived at the Jing Family’s place, she saw Jing Wanpeng standing at the entrance.
Luo Qiao got out of the taxi and stood there without moving forward: "Are you waiting for here?"
Jing Wanpeng had a light smile on his face: "Yes, I heard you were back in the country. This morning, when I heard from Mingrui that you were coming today, I thought I’d try my luck before heading out."
"How has your year been?" she asked.
"Not bad, thanks to you," he replied.
"Have you found soone you like? I’m waiting to celebrate your wedding."
"I’ve been trying, but I haven’t t the right one yet."
"You’re not young anymore, don’t drag your feet. If you find soone suitable, go for it."
Jing Wanpeng laughed: "Okay, why didn’t you bring the kids with you?"
Luo Qiao smiled: "They went to the bureau to play with Lu Yichen early in the morning."
As they were talking, they saw Jing Mingrui coming out from the main gate.
He called out, "Uncle."
Then he turned to Luo Qiao, who was not far away: "Qiaoqiao, you’ve arrived. Jia Ning asked to co out and see if you had arrived yet?"
Luo Qiao nodded with a smile: "Just got here, I’m going in now."
She then turned to Jing Wanpeng: "Brother Peng, if you have ti one day, co over to our house for a al."
Luo Qiao knew she was asking too much of him, but she had to do it. She always saw him as a brother, both in the past and now. She was married with five lovely children now.
But he was still alone at his age, and she didn’t want to hold him back any longer. She wanted him to give up hope and find his other half as soon as possible, to have a good life.
Jing Wanpeng thought to himself that it was ti to let go. She didn’t need his protection anymore: "Sure."
After giving his nephew a glance, he continued to Luo Qiao: "I have sothing to do, I’ll take my leave first. Call if you need anything. It’s cold outside, you should go in."
Jing Mingrui always felt that his uncle’s attitude towards Luo Qiao was different from others. He once thought it was because Luo Qiao had cured his grandfather’s illness, but now, with this tone of conversation, if he didn’t know what kind of person his uncle was, he would definitely overthink it.
Jia Ning was shocked the mont she saw Yuan Jianing: "Why does it look so serious?"
Yuan Jianing was brimming with grievance: "Qiaoqiao, it’s good you’re back."
Luo Qiao asked: "Where’s the dicine the hospital gave you? Let see."
Jing Mingrui quickly brought over the hospital’s diagnostic records and prescribed dication: "It’s all here."
After examining them, Luo Qiao said to Yuan Jianing: "Stretch out your hand, let feel your pulse."
After a while, she said: "There’s a bit of an issue with your autoimmune system, but it’s nothing serious."
She reviewed the dicines prescribed by the doctor: "Take these dicines at half the dosage recomnded by the doctor. I will make so pill dicine for you when I get back to adjust your body, and then I will make so dicinal paste for external application. Apply it on the affected area."
Yuan Jianing finally breathed a sigh of relief: "I was really scared to death, the rash is so itchy, I was afraid I’d scratch it open."
Seeing that she was okay, Luo Qiao then asked: "Where’s your son?"
Yuan Jianing said: "My mother-in-law took her to the room. She was worried that my full-body rash might be contagious to the child."
Luo Qiao nodded: "What you have is due to non-infectious factors, so it won’t spread. It’s caused by a drop in your own immune system and endocrinological factors, not a disease caused by pathogenic microbial infection, hence it won’t be contagious."
Yuan Jianing finally felt relieved after hearing Luo Qiao’s words and started to talk about the things that had happened during the year they hadn’t seen each other.
Afterwards, Luo Qiao went to Yuan Jianing’s mother-in-law’s courtyard, saw Jing Junxuan who had just passed the hundred-day mark, and presented the Gold Longevity Lock she had prepared in advance, chatted with Yuan Jianing’s mother-in-law for a good while before taking her leave.
Luo Qiao didn’t stay long after returning to Yuan Jianing’s place: "Sister Jianing, I have to go to the city bureau to pick up the children. I’ll make the dicinal pills and the paste for external application in the afternoon and co back tomorrow."
Yuan Jianing felt reluctant but asked about Jing Junxuan’s situation again, then said: "Okay, then I won’t keep you. After I recover, you can bring the kids over to play."
Yuan Jianing watched her leave, still calling out from behind: "Qiaoqiao, make sure to co over tomorrow."
Luo Qiao turned her head with a light smile: "I know, I’ll definitely co tomorrow to bring you the dicine. You just endure one more day of hardship."
