Chapter 1180: Chapter 1180 I Want to Be Your Support
A few people chatted for a while, and the Jing family mbers also returned from the wedding banquet one after another.
As soon as Jing Wanpeng entered, he saw Luo Qiao sitting there. After a brief mont of distraction, he nodded to Lu Yichen as a way of greeting.
He approached Yanyan and Yueyue, patted the two children’s heads, and looked at Luo Qiao: “When did you get here?”
“Just arrived a while ago. I thought I would co and see how Grandpa Jing is doing, and it’s also ti for your follow-up check-up. I’ll take a look at their bridal room shortly.”
Jing Wanpeng nodded, agreeing with her.
Luo Qiao turned to Elder Jing: “Grandpa Jing, let take your pulse again.”
Elder Jing smiled: “That would be great.”
Luo Qiao sat down, took his pulse, and then asked: “Haven’t been sleeping well recently?”
Elder Jing nodded: “Maybe it’s because I’m getting old. I wake up at the slightest noise, and once I’m awake, it’s difficult to fall back to sleep. I also don’t want to always rely on those dications.”
Luo Qiao thought for a mont and then said to the butler beside her: “Could you bring so paper and a pen?”
The butler nodded and took out a pen and paper from the drawer of a cabinet nearby.
Luo Qiao took them and thanked him, then wrote down a herbal recipe: “Follow this recipe for a while, and there should be so improvent.”
Luo Qiao knew this was a common problem for elderly people. With age, the body functions inevitably deteriorate. Even if she used her Special Ability to help him, there wouldn’t be much change; using herbal dishes to nourish him gently was better for Elder Jing.
The butler took the recipe: “I will arrange for soone to purchase the ingredients imdiately.”
After speaking, he left the room.
Seeing the butler leave, Jing Wanpeng noticed that more people had entered the living room, and it was indeed inconvenient to talk there. He looked at Luo Qiao: “Shall we talk in my study?”
After saying this, he also looked at Lu Yichen: “Do you want to co along?”
Lu Yichen was chatting with an acquaintance at the ti and looked at Luo Qiao: “You go ahead, and don’t forget the ti you arranged to et with your sister-in-law.”
Luo Qiao nodded and followed Jing Wanpeng out of the living room towards the study.
Once in the study, Jing Wanpeng poured Luo Qiao a glass of water: “I heard you’ve published several papers over there?”
“Yes, my supervisor is really nice.”
“Do you have any plans over there?”
“As you know, agriculture is my strong point. I’m not too good at other things, so it is essential for Yipin to go international. Apart from that, I don’t have any long-term plans, just making so investnts when the opportunities arise.
Also about learning, I’m thinking about spending the next year and a half to obtain a Ph.D. in business economics since I’m in the sa campus area. It’s convenient if anything cos up.”
Jing Wanpeng nodded: “It’s always good to learn more.”
Luo Qiao gestured for him to stretch out his wrist, took his pulse: “Very well, you’ve been taking care of yourself nicely these days; there are absolutely no issues.”
Jing Wanpeng’s face was full of gentle smiles.
Perhaps it was because his illness was cured, and his mood beca significantly brighter, the employees at the company also felt that the BOSS seed like a different person, radiating an air of liveliness and occasionally joking and laughing with his subordinates.
Luo Qiao sat back and took a sip of water: “Have you t anyone appealing in the past year? If you don’t get married, even being in good health is aningless.”
That was a blatant push for marriage.
Jing Wanpeng glanced at Luo Qiao, knowing what she ant: “Getting married requires finding soone eye-pleasing, even if it’s not about love, I have to at least find them visually agreeable, right? After all, it’s a lifeti commitnt once I marry soone.”
Luo Qiao nodded: “You’re right about that. You’re not getting any younger, you should hurry up. Otherwise, Elder Jing may not have that much ti to wait for you. Now, all his bodily functions are degrading, and there’s no other way but to nurture them gently.”
Jing Wanpeng, after hearing this, remained silent for a long ti: “Understood.”
Luo Qiao, feeling that she had said all that needed to be said, got up and spoke: “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving to check on the new house. I also need to visit the Posts and Telecommunications University later.”
Jing Wanpeng snapped out of his thoughts: “What are you going to the Posts and Telecommunications University for?”
Luo Qiao casually recounted the incident involving Qie Fangqing at the school and then took her leave from the study.
Returning to the living room to find Lu Yichen, she saw him watching Yanyan, Yueyue, and a group of children playing. She approached and said, “Brother Chen, I’m going to check on Sister Jianing’s matrimonial ho. Would you like to co?”
Lu Yichen reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear: “Sure, let’s go together to send them our blessings. It’s about ti to leave; I’m almost due to et your cousin.”
Luo Qiao took his arm: “Okay.”
Lu Yichen introduced Luo Qiao to so acquaintances nearby, exchanged a few brief words, and then said their goodbyes to everyone.
Luo Qiao called out to her two daughters: “Yanyan, Yueyue, let’s go. We’re going to see Auntie Jianing.”
Yanyan and Yueyue said goodbye to their little friends with a wave and then ran over to their parents: “Where are we going to see Auntie Jianing?”
Luo Qiao smiled: “Just in the backyard here.”
Yanyan looked up: “Auntie Jianing is here?”
Luo Qiao nodded with a smile: “Yes, this will be Auntie Jianing’s ho from now on. She married Uncle Jing Rui today and will live here in the future.”
Yanyan’s smile suddenly faded: “Then when my sister and I get married, will we also leave Mom and Dad and live sowhere else?”
Luo Qiao squatted down to look at her daughter eye to eye: “Yes, when you grow up and get married, you will live with the person you love and start a new family, just like when Mom married Dad. I had to leave Great Granny’s house to live with Dad.”
Yanyan looked anxious: “But I don’t want to leave Mom and Dad.”
Luo Qiao hugged her, speaking softly: “Then don’t leave. Live here with your spouse, Mom, and Dad.”
That’s when Yanyan broke into a smile: “Can we?”
Luo Qiao nodded: “Of course, although you might change your mind when you grow up.”
Yanyan shook her head: “I don’t want to be apart from Mom and Dad at all.”
Luo Qiao stood up: “When you grow up, it will be your choice.”
Finishing up, she looked at Lu Yichen, and the two of them exchanged smiles.
Upon arriving at the matrimonial ho, they found the place bustling with wedding fun. A group surrounded the couple, engaged in gas, and Luo Qiao stood outside, laughing at the newlyweds’ funny predicant, both she and Lu Yichen laughing uncontrollably.
Yanyan and Yueyue, lifted up by their dad, shouted inside: “Auntie Jianing, you can do it!”
This set off a burst of laughter inside, and one playful guest shouted: “Hurry up, even the kids are cheering you on and rooting for you!”
Yuan Jianing, her face reddening even more, received Luo Qiao’s hint toward the door, understanding from their conversation earlier in the morning that Luo Qiao had things to attend to, and simply nodded.
After the couple erged, Lu Yichen first dropped Luo Qiao at the university to et with her cousin.
Lu Yichen couldn’t help but worry: “Qiaoqiao, I’ll wait outside the school for you. Call if you need anything.”
While getting out of the car, Luo Qiao said: “No need, you take the girls back. Aren’t you also supposed to work this afternoon? Besides, my brother is there. Your presence wouldn’t be suitable at the school, and I don’t want others to use you as a talking point, affecting you and your reputation.”
However, Lu Yichen insisted: “If they are unreasonable, call . I don’t want you to suffer because you’re worried about impacting . I know you an well, but I want to be your support.”
Hearing this, Luo Qiao’s face lit up with a smile: “Alright, if they really are unreasonable, then I’ll get the principal on the phone, and you can intervene for , ensuring fair treatnt.”
Lu Yichen playfully flicked her nose: “That’s more like it. I work so hard not just because I enjoy my job, but also to be a solid support for you all, to protect you. You don’t need to think too much. I hope that no matter what happens, or when it happens, you think of first, okay?”
