As Zhou Guifang ca out of the kitchen, she saw her granddaughter and daughter-in-law talking on the stairs, “If you have sothing to say, co down here, what’s with the few steps?”
They both walked down smiling, and Luo Qiao cheerfully asked, “Grandma, what delicious food are we having this morning?”
“Today I made mixed at wontons and boiled a bone soup.”
Elder Rong brought back a basket of strawberries from the greenhouse in the backyard, “It’s really colder here; these strawberries ripen later than they do in Capital City.”
Seeing the strawberries, Luo Qiao smiled, thinking of bringing so to her professor at the lab where she planned to visit today.
She asked, “Elder Rong, are there any ripe strawberries left in the greenhouse?”
Elder Rong nodded, pointing at the basket, “There’s half a basket more to pick.”
Luo Qiao took the basket, “I’ll take the ones in the basket out, and you can help pick the rest. I’m heading to the lab after lunch to bring so for my professor to try.”
Elder Rong chuckled, “No need to take them out; there are baskets in the greenhouse, so transferring them back and forth might damage them.”
Just then, Rong Daniang ca out from the kitchen, “Let’s eat first, Qiaoqiao. After eating, you get ready, and you go pick, while they’re still fresh.”
At this mont, Yanyan and Yueyue ca downstairs with their little cousin, “We’re here, can we eat now?”
Zhou Guifang smiled at the children running over, “Yes, go wash your hands first.”
Once everyone was seated, Luo Qiao said to her older brother, “Today, let Wei Jun take you guys out to see if there’s anything you need.”
