Chapter 1113: Chapter 1113: Sending Love ssages Through My Daughter
Luo Qiao really had a talent for learning. She had been good at English to begin with and could communicate without barriers, so she had no trouble understanding the professors’ lectures. Moreover, she had already dabbled in many of the subjects, so it wasn’t very difficult for her to learn.
Ph.D. programs typically had few courses, and next, they were to be divided into groups and taken into the laboratories. After a period, they might have to choose their ntors, and of course, choosing a ntor wasn’t just a matter of who you wanted—whether a ntor would choose you was another question.
What Luo Qiao didn’t know was that Ian, whom she had previously saved, and several professors from the dical college were old friends. During his hospital stay, the professors had all visited him and Ian had ntioned Luo Qiao.
He also said her dical skills were good, her dical ethics noble, and her character excellent!
During the start of the school term, those professors had paid special attention to her, and she was indeed as outstanding as Ian had described in all aspects.
Luo Qiao and her peers were divided into four groups to follow second-year doctoral students into the labs. The upperclassn had all told them to start with miscellaneous tasks, as not everyone could participate in the research topics.
Having already completed her Ph.D. in China, Luo Qiao was familiar with most of the laboratory processes. If her daily tasks were limited to making gels, preparing buffer solutions, and washing test tubes for her seniors, she definitely would not be pleased.
Such pieceal chores were a waste of her ti and were not conducive to developing a scientific research mindset.
The four girls were split into four different groups, and Du Lisa ca back to the apartnt that night. “Luo Qiao, I’m really envious of you.”
Luo Qiao looked up at Du Lisa, puzzled. “What’s there to be envious about?”
It was then that Du Lisa spoke in a low voice, “I heard from the grapevine that Professor Wilson is leading your group. He’s an authority in cell biology, molecular biology, and neurobiology.”
Luo Qiao suddenly laughed, “Even if Professor Wilson is leading our group, it doesn’t an he will be my ntor. I still have to go through an interview. Don’t think too much about it. It’s better to focus on preparing well.”
Du Lisa nodded, “You’re right. I hope I can perform normally during my interview presentation.”
Seeing that it was ti to leave, Luo Qiao headed out, not wanting to show off too much in front of her roommate. So she went straight to the apartnt’s rooftop.
Luo Qiao dialed the Gu family’s number, and Yanyan answered the phone: “Hello, Mom?”
“Is that you, Baby Yanyan? Did you have fun today?”
“Fun! I took lots of photos in the park with Great Grandpa. He said he’ll look at them when he misses us.”
“Mom, Uncle said he’s already booked the tickets. Next Wednesday, he’ll send us to the plane. Mom, you have to rember to pick us up; otherwise, we might get lost.”
“I rember. I’ll et you at New York Airport. I won’t let you get lost.”
“Mom, Dad’s gone on a mission and said his return date is uncertain. He asked and my sister to tell you that he will take good care of himself, and you should too. He’ll miss us.”
Listening to Yanyan’s words, Gu Qianru couldn’t help laughing and crying at the sa ti. Yichen was indeed always mindful to send ssages of love through his little girl, no mater the situation.
Hearing this, Luo Qiao knew this mission must be no simple task, and she beca even more concerned about her husband.
After speaking her piece, Yanyan handed the phone to her sister, thinking to herself about how expensive Grandma Rong had said these overseas calls were.
Yueyue took over the phone: “Mommy, starting from tomorrow, at eight o’clock at night—oh, that’s eight in the morning your ti—call us again, okay? Anyway, we’ll see each other next week. Grandma Rong says these international calls are really expensive.”
Luo Qiao chuckled upon hearing this, “Alright, Mommy will listen to Yueyue. From now on, I’ll call you every evening. Tell Grandma Rong she doesn’t need to bring too much over, whatever you’re missing I can buy here.”
“Okay, Mommy. Great Grandma’s here, talk to her.”
Gu Qianru took the phone: “Qiaoqiao, are you doing well over there?”
“Auntie, don’t worry, I’m doing quite well. I’ve found a place as well, it’s very spacious with a front and back yard. When you co over, you should consider visiting. I’ll personally pick you up from New York Airport.”
“Alright, I’ll ntion it to your grandfather, and it just might be possible. Take good care of yourself over there. Don’t worry about ho; they will be flying over next Wednesday anyway.”
The two chatted a bit more about various things before finally hanging up.
