Javir leaned against the balcony railing, her sharp, green eyes surveying the event below. Her head rested on her right palm, her left hand holding a glass of wine as a subtle pout tugged at her lips.
The dance floor was a whirl of color and motion, the couples spinning and swaying to the swell of the music. The only indication that Javir gave to suggest she even heard the music was the tapping of her foot against the ground because Javir's attention was focused elsewhere.
Your journey continues on My Virtual Library Empire
Scanning one face after another, Javir cataloged every person she saw.
[Agendas, plots, sches, all in hushed whispers and careful conversations...] Javir sighed.
It was exhausting just to look at.
[So things never change,] she thought wryly, taking a sip of her wine. [The players may be different, but the ga remains the sa. I'm getting tired just watching it all.]
"Well, well, look what the cat dragged in," a silky voice purred from behind her.
[Ah... shit,] Javir smiled a little.
"Javir Folden, in the flesh. I never thought I'd see the day, again."
Javir smirked, turning to face the newcor with a raised eyebrow.
"Lady Morgana," she drawled, taking in the other woman's appearance. A thin, sleek figure wrapped in a form-fitting gown with artfully tousled, sapphire hair and bright, purple eyes. "What a surprise."
Morgana laughed, a rich, throaty sound.
"I believe that's my line. What are you doing here?" She asked, quite directly.
"Here I thought you'd be happy to see again."
"I am," Morgana quickly corrected her. "It's just been quite a while since you ca to one of these little events. I was beginning to think you'd fallen inside one of your books."
Javir shrugged.
"What can I say? I was invited at the perfect ti. Bored out of my mind. Thought I'd co see what all the fuss was about, for old tis' sake."
Morgana's eyes glittered as she moved closer, her perfu sweet.
"Bored, hmm? With the life of a - what was it? - respectable academy professor? I never thought I'd see the day. Don't tell you're feeling nostalgic for your old job... The court has been dreadfully dull without you."
Javir felt a familiar heat rising in her cheeks, mories of past encounters with Morgana flashing through her mind.
She pushed them aside, focusing on the present...
Mostly.
"Wow... Is that a blush?" Morgana grinned like a tiger that just spotted a wounded gazelle. "You've lost your-"
Harshly, Javir pulled Morgana by her wrist, bringing her closer.
The woman's eyes widened and her breath caught in her throat.
"... Fun as it may have been while it lasted, I have no intention of returning to that life, Morgana," Javir murmured, her lips barely an inch from the other woman's. "I'm quite content with my current... arrangent. Besides, I'm in my 30s now. I don't have the energy for that stuff anymore."
Morgana's eyes flickered with a few different feelings. Disappointnt? Desire?
Then, she closed the distance between them, pressing a soft kiss to Javir's lips.
"Pity," she breathed as she pulled away, grinning. "I've missed you, you know."
And, just like that, Morgana walked away.
[That was all she wanted to know?]
Javir watched as Morgana sashayed back into the crowd, her perfu lingering in the air.
Javir let out a long sigh, turning back to the balcony.
"I don't miss this at all," she muttered to herself. "I'd rather be grading a thousand papers than playing these gas again."
But even as she said it, Javir couldn't quite shake the thrill that ran through her veins.
The intrigue, the danger, the subtle power plays – it was all so familiar, so intoxicating.
[Focus,] she chided herself. [You're here for lisa, not to relive your glory days.]
Speaking of lisa, Javir noticed the young nim had disappeared from view. A flicker of concern passed through her, quickly tamped down by rational thought.
[She's fine. She can handle herself.]
Still, Javir couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility.
lisa was more than just a student now.
[Alright, if lisa's off having fun sowhere, then... I may as well do a bit of mingling myself.]
As she descended the stairs back to the main floor, Javir steeled herself for the night ahead.
The gala was in full swing now, the air thick with perfu, magic, and secrets being traded back and forth.
[Let the gas begin.]

{lisa}
As the final notes of the First Swing faded away, and the band settled into a calr, looping song, lisa felt a warm breath on her ear.
Lady Shiora's voice was barely a whisper, but it sent shivers down lisa's spine.
"I believe you owe a private demonstration, Lady lisa," Shiora purred, her tail brushing teasingly against lisa's leg.
Before lisa could respond, she found herself being all but dragged away from the crowd of nobles. Her heart raced as Shiora led her through winding corridors, finally ducking into a secluded alcove hidden behind a shimring magical curtain.
As soon as they were alone, Shiora pressed lisa against the wall, their bodies flush against each other. lisa's breath caught in her throat as she gazed into Shiora's pink eyes, dark with desire.
"Now then," Shiora murmured, her lips re inches from lisa's. "Show what a nim can really do."
Their lips t in a passionate kiss, tongues dancing and exploring.
lisa moaned softly as Shiora's hands road her body, tracing the curves hidden beneath her gown. She could feel the Essence moving between them, a heady rush of power and pleasure that made her head spin.
Shiora broke the kiss, her breath coming in short pants.
"By the gods," she gasped. "I've never felt anything like this before."
lisa grinned.
That heady, mind-numbing feeling from before began to resurface.
"Oh, we're just getting started, my lady."
With a fluid motion, lisa spun them around, pinning Shiora against the wall. She trailed kisses down the kitsune's neck, reveling in the soft whimpers and gasps she elicited. Her hands found the fastenings of Shiora's gown, deftly undoing them.
"Please," Shiora whimpered, her tail thrashing with need. "I need..."
"I know exactly what you need."
With that being said, lisa sank to her knees.
It was going to be a long night, to be sure, but that didn't an it couldn't be a fun one.
