The following morning, lisa woke with a sense of purpose.

Sleeping on it, like Javir had suggested, managed to make several ideas churn in her mind.

She'd been up almost all night, piecing together a plan. And, she liked what she ca up with.

[I need to get the girls together to talk about this.]

And so, she made her way back to the academy.

She spotted Isabella, Armia, and Raven all making their way to the second class of the day... None of them talking to one another, of course.

As soon as she saw them, she waved them over.

"Hey, guys!" lisa called out as she approached. "How do you feel about skipping class today?"

Isabella's eyes lit up with mischief, while Armia looked scandalized.

Raven, as usual, remained impassive.

"Skip class?" Armia asked with a raised brow, the golden scales running down her hands glinting in the sunlight. "What's gotten into you?"

"What? Is it that odd that I-"

"You've treated every word the professors say as if not writing them down would result in you being personally struck down by the gods," Isabella said with a smirk. "I have to agree with the dragon here. What's up?"

lisa rolled her eyes, pulling out the royal invitation.

"Sothing big has co up. We need to talk, all of us. I was thinking we could head to Javir's place to discuss this. I-" lisa began, but Isabella cut her off.

"My house is closer," the kitsune said, a sly smile playing on her lips. "And I'm sure Mom won't mind us dropping by. She loves having guests. Let's just head there."

lisa hesitated for a mont, rembering the last ti she'd visited Isabella's ho.

[Yeah, that was... eventful.]

But practicality won out.

"Alright," she agreed. "Isabella's it is."

Following that, they made their way through Syux's streets. Soon, they were standing before Isabella's fabulous ho.

And, Isabella burst through the front door with her usual exuberance.

"Mom! We're ho!" she called out.

Kimiko appeared in the hallway, a warm smile on her face.

"Bella? You're back rather-"

Her words were cut off as Isabella launched herself into her mother's arms, planting a deep, passionate kiss on her lips.

Kimiko responded with equal enthusiasm and in an instant, it was like the girls didn't exist, Kimiko's hands sliding down to cup Isabella's ass as their tongues danced together.

All while lisa, Raven, and Armia watched behind them.

lisa felt her cheeks heat up. She glanced at Armia, who looked equally flustered, her golden scales taking on a distinctly reddish tinge. Raven, true to form, seed entirely unaffected, her expression neutral as she examined a nearby painting.

[Right, I forgot how... affectionate they are,] lisa thought, trying not to stare as the kiss continued.

When they finally broke apart, both kitsune were slightly breathless.

Kimiko turned to the others, her erald eyes twinkling with amusent at their varied reactions.

"Welco, girls," she purred, her voice rich and smooth as honey. "To what do we owe the pleasure of your company?"

lisa cleared her throat, trying to regain her composure.

"We, uh, have so news to discuss. Sothing big has co up, and we needed a place to talk it over."

Kimiko's eyebrow arched with interest.

"Oh? Well, don't keep in suspense. Why don't you all make yourselves comfortable in the living room? I'll put on so coffee for everyone."

"Sounds good, Mrs. Sumr. Thank you."

As Kimiko sashayed towards the kitchen, her hips swaying in a way that drew more than one appreciative glance, lisa herded her friends into the opulent living room.

They settled onto the plush sofas. Isabella sprawled across one end of a couch, her tail curling around lisa's waist as the nim girl sat beside her. Armia perched primly on an armchair, her posture rigid with barely contained nervous energy. Raven chose to lean against the wall, her arms crossed as she surveyed the room steadily.

lisa took a deep breath, her crimson eyes scanning the faces of her friends.

"Alright," she began, her tail swishing nervously behind her. "So, here's the deal...

She then gave them a very brief rundown of the situation.

Isabella's jaw dropped, and even Armia's eyes widened in surprise.

"Holy shit, l!" Isabella exclaid, her fluffy tail practically vibrating with excitent. "A royal gala? That's huge!"

Armia nodded, her earlier protests forgotten.

"Wow... This could really be a ga changer for you."

"Yeah, but..." lisa sighed. "This gala... it's not just so fancy party. It's potentially dangerous territory."

Isabella's ears perked up, her erald eyes glinting with excitent.

"Ooh, dangerous how?"

lisa couldn't help but chuckle at her girlfriend's enthusiasm.

[Girlfriend... Holy shit, that feels weird to say.]

Though it did make her smile.

"Javir thinks it could be a trap, or at the very least, a highly political situation that I'm not prepared for."

Armia nodded solemnly, her scales shimring as she shifted in her seat.

"That makes sense. The nobility can be... treacherous, from what I've heard."

[And yet, you're so eager to join all that stuff.]

"Exactly," lisa continued. "Which is why I need help. The invitation says I can bring one guest, but I honestly don't know who to choose. You're all important to , and, uhm, I think you each have skills that could be valuable in navigating this ss. So..."

lisa looked away.

"Who should I bring?" She finally asked.

The room fell silent for a mont as the implications sank in.

Then, predictably, chaos erupted.

"Obviously, it should be ," Isabella declared, puffing out her chest. "I'm your girlfriend, after all. Plus, I'm charming as fuck. I'll have those stuffy nobles eating out of the palm of my hand in no ti!"

Armia scoffed, her draconic tail lashing indignantly.

"Please. This is clearly a situation that calls for soone with knowledge of noble etiquette and politics. It should obviously be ."

Aaaand they started bickering.

As the two continued, their voices rising in pitch and volu, lisa caught Raven's eye.

The forr assassin rely raised an eyebrow, as if to say, "Are you seeing this?"

lisa sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Guys, please-"

"I'll have you know," Armia was saying, her scales flushed with indignation, "that I've trained in seven different forms of formal dance!"

Isabella snorted.

"Big deal. I once danced on a table for three hours straight at a kitsune festival... Well, not all of that was dancing, but still. Beat that!"

"That's not even remotely the sa thing!"

"Ladies," Raven's cool voice cut through the argunt like a knife. "Perhaps we should calm down and..."

But before she could finish, the door swung open, and Kimiko glided in, balancing a tray of steaming coffee cups.

Her entrance imdiately silenced the room, all eyes turning to the elegant kitsune matriarch.

"My, my," Kimiko purred, her eyes twinkling with amusent. "Such lively discussion. I do hope I'm not interrupting anything important."

lisa felt a blush creeping up her cheeks.

"Not at all, Mrs. Sumr. We were just, uh, debating who should accompany to the gala. Unfortunately, I can only bring one person as a guest."

Kimiko's smile widened as she set down the tray and began distributing the coffee.

Then, she stood up straight.

"One person?"

"Yeah."

Then, she did a quick count of all the girls.

"One... Three, four..." And, she nodded to herself. "Oh, darling. There's no need to pick and choose. You can all go."

A stunned silence fell over the room. lisa blinked, certain she must have misheard.

"I'm sorry, what?" she asked, her tail twitching in confusion.

Kimiko gracefully moved around the room, distributing the steaming cups of coffee to each of the girls. As she handed lisa her cup, their fingers brushed, sending a small shiver down the nim's spine.

[Focus, lisa,] she scolded herself. [Now's not the ti to get distracted by your girlfriend's stupidly attractive mother.]

"I happen to know soone rather important at the palace. Lady Alia Voss, to be precise," Kimiko said, sitting down opposite the girls. "She's in charge of all the entertainnt for these grand events, including the dancers and sundancers."

Isabella's ears perked up at this, a mischievous glint in her eye.

"Dancers, huh? I like where this is going."

Armia shot her a disapproving look, but Kimiko rely chuckled.

"Indeed, my dear. Now, here's what I propose: lisa will, of course, attend as an honored guest, with Armia as her plus one."

Armia preened slightly at this, her scales shimring with pride.

Isabella looked like she was about to ask, "why her?" but Kimiko cut her off.

"anwhile," Kimiko continued, "I can convince Alia to hire Isabella and Raven as a dancer-manager duo for the evening's entertainnt."

Raven's eyebrows shot up, a rare display of surprise on her usually stoic face.

"? A... manager?"

Suddenly, it seed like all thoughts of being lisa's guest disappeared in an instant.

"Oooh," Isabella giggled, nudging the forr assassin with her tail. "I kinda wanna see that. You'd look hot in a suit~"

lisa couldn't help but agree, her mind briefly wandering to the image of Raven in formal attire.

Raven had no reaction.

"If all goes according to plan," Kimiko said, drawing their attention back, "you'll all be able to attend the gala in various capacities. And, well, I might as well co along too. It's been far too long since I've graced one of these events with my presence."

The girls exchanged excited glances, the possibilities of the evening stretching out before them. But Isabella, ever observant when she wanted to be, tilted her head curiously at her mother.

"Wait a second," she said, her tail swishing thoughtfully. "If you know one of the people involved in organizing the gala, why didn't you ntion anything about it before?"

Kimiko's smile turned positively wicked.

"Well, to be frank, I didn't really want to unleash you upon the... unsuspecting noble populace."

Isabella's eyes widened in mock indignation.

"Mother! Are you implying that I would-"

"Fuck half the city's nobility if given the chance?" Kimiko finished for her, arching an elegant eyebrow. "My dear, I'm not implying it. I'm stating it as fact."

Isabella opened her mouth to protest, then closed it, a smirk spreading across her face instead.

"Fair enough," she conceded with a shrug.

lisa felt a blush creeping up her cheeks, knowing full well that Isabella would, indeed, probably try to seduce every attractive person at the gala if left to her own devices.

Raven nodded, to herself.

"This arrangent would give us more eyes on the situation, more angles to cover if anything goes wrong."

"Exactly," Kimiko agreed. "Plus..."

Kimiko grinned in a way that made lisa feel like her clothes were being tugged at.

"it'll be far more fun this way, don't you think?"

Well, she couldn't really argue with that.
