The green train was nearly full in one of its carriages, with people occasionally moving in the aisle.

Lin Xia and Xiaowa were sitting in a two-seat arrangent, with Lin Xia by the window.

Across from them sat two tall n, dressed plainly, who looked to be in their thirties or forties.

One wore a peaked cap and had a full beard, while the other sported a handlebar mustache.

They occasionally exchanged a few words in low voices. Lin Xia kept her gaze out the window, not daring to make eye contact with the bearded man across from her.

She was truly afraid that she might laugh and alert the bad guys who were secretly watching her to the situation.

This bearded man was none other than Lu Zheng in disguise.

His looks were too handso and would easily draw attention if not concealed.

They were also worried about whether ng Xiangzi had secretly described Lu Zheng’s appearance to soone, so to be absolutely safe, even Shao Xingbang wore a disguise.

Yes, that’s right, the person with the handlebar mustache sitting next to Lu Zheng was Shao Xingbang.

This was the first ti Lin Xia saw Lu Zheng with a full beard. Good-looking people are hard to hide—they look good even with a beard, which gave him an entirely different flavor.

Lu Zheng rushed back as soon as he received Lin Xia’s call.

Soone was plotting against his wife, and he would co to protect her no matter the cost.

Lu Zheng was worried about the crowd on the train and that he wouldn’t be able to protect Lin Xia if it ca to a fight. So, apart from bringing so people, he also specifically asked his brother-in-law, who was on leave to care for Liang Wei, to co along.

When Shao Xingbang heard about it, he agreed without hesitation.

However, he needed to arrange things for Liang Wei and their child before leaving.

For the sake of the old man’s health, no one had dared to ntion Liang Wei’s threatened miscarriage in front of him, so it was naturally inappropriate to let Liang Wei stay at Shao irou’s house.

Therefore, Shao Xingbang temporarily entrusted the care of Liang Wei to his sister-in-law, Xi Qiaozhen.

Lu Zheng and Shao Xingbang went separately to fetch water, use the restroom, and scout out who in the carriage might be the bad guys and who their accomplices were.

After several rounds, the two of them had a sense of the situation.

Lin Xia received a signal from Shao Xingbang, who had just returned from the bathroom. She pulled her clothes and stood up calmly, "Xiaowa, I’m going to the bathroom."

Using herself as bait to draw the snake out of its hole, she wasn’t scared at all.

Because Lu Zheng, under the pretense of heading to the dining car, was already lying in ambush sowhere.

With them and other people arranged secretly, she believed she would be completely protected.

"Alright." Xiaowa reacted normally by shifting to let Lin Xia pass, showing no intention of following.

Lin Xia walked slowly toward the bathroom at the intersection of the carriages, glancing around as if completely unaware of the approaching danger.

The person who had been watching closely quickly gave a look and stood up to follow closely behind.

In their eyes, a woman with a man of little use was an easy target, and this task lacked any technical challenge.

People in the carriage couldn’t quite understand what was happening but noticed that a lot of people appeared near the washroom and bathroom, then suddenly a fight broke out.

So of them left their seats in twos and threes and tried to rush over to watch the commotion, but the conductor and the train police ca in to maintain order and prevent them from getting closer.

At the next small station stop, four people were overpowered and taken off the train.

The combination of underestimating the enemy and their opponent’s strength led to their disastrous defeat.

Several cars following them picked up the four prisoners, seating them in pairs in two cars, while Xiaowa and Shao Xingbang sat in another vehicle.

Lu Zheng and Lin Xia were in the last car.

Lu Zheng held Lin Xia’s hand tightly, speaking in a low tone, "Wife, were you scared earlier?"

"No, because I knew you were all there." Lin Xia had been a bit nervous at the ti since her ntal toughness couldn’t compare to Lu Zheng’s and his team’s. But fear wasn’t the main issue; justice always prevails over evil. She didn’t believe that they couldn’t handle a few street thugs.

"Silly wife, I was scared—I was afraid you might get hurt." Lu Zheng had never felt this worried before.

"Look, I’m fine now, aren’t I?" Lin Xia reassured him, squeezing his large hand back.

She knew Lu Zheng cared about her and loved her. If it weren’t for her insistence on setting this trap, Lu Zheng would never have agreed to such a risky plan.

Regardless of what the driver in front thought, Lu Zheng pulled Lin Xia into his arms, "Wife, let hold you for a while."

He desperately needed the reassurance of her small body, and silently swore that if such a situation arose again, he wouldn’t compromise and let her take risks anymore, not ever again!

"Mm." Lin Xia quietly nestled in his warm embrace, listening to his strong heartbeat. Sweetness filled her heart, even as her thoughts drifted to planning how they would take down the mastermind, ng Xiangzi, and her accomplice, Yang Liu.

After a mont of silence, Lin Xia asked, "Xiaozheng, do you think they’ll easily give up ng Xiangzi?"

Lu Zheng laughed coldly, "A ragtag bunch like them won’t have much backbone."

Lin Xia was curious, "What kind of sentence will ng Xiangzi get after being turned in?"

"Hiring a killer and having a prior record, she’ll definitely get a severe penalty..." Lu Zheng was determined that even if it didn’t reach a severe penalty, he would use all his connections to make it happen.

Sure enough, the captured individuals didn’t show much backbone and quickly turned on ng Xiangzi.

When ng Xiangzi was arrested, she could never have imagined in her wildest dreams that she would fall into Lin Xia’s trap at the last mont.

Lin Xia was safe and sound while she ended up behind bars.

She stubbornly denied everything at first, but she underestimated the capabilities and persistence of the involved officers.

Unable to withstand the interrogation, ng Xiangzi soon confessed everything, even revealing missed opportunities from previous attempts.

Yang Liu was apprehended at the factory; the workers were curious about what had happened, and Xiaowa explained the parts he could.

With the arrests of ng Xiangzi and Yang Liu, Lin Xia’s life seed to return to its peaceful and calm state.

Liang Wei, after careful nurturing, was finally out of miscarriage danger, but neither she nor Shao Xingbang dared to let their guard down.

This child was too important to allow even the slightest mistake.

Ti flew, and by June, Lu Qing’s wedding took place as scheduled.

After her wedding, about a month later, it was ti for Lin Chun and Gu Chengya’s wedding.

Lin Chun and Gu Chengya planned to have a ceremony on the bride’s side first, followed by another one back ho.

Lin Xia respected her brother’s decisions. She and Lin Dong returned to the city’s apartnt early to tidy up and prepare it as Lin Chun and Gu Chengya’s temporary new ho.

As for the wedding banquet, they decided not to hold it at Lin Aiguo’s place but at Jiang Mingyuan’s large restaurant.
