When Lu Zheng learned that Cheng Wenfeng had an accident, he hurriedly rushed from work to visit Cheng Wenfeng in the hospital.

"Uncle Lu!" Cheng Wenfeng greeted Lu Zheng warmly.

He knew that over the years, thanks to Uncle Lu’s help, he and his mother were able to live better lives.

It was Uncle Lu who brought him and his mother to the provincial capital, otherwise, he would have had no chance to attend school here or et his granduncle.

Lu Zheng lovingly brushed Cheng Wenfeng’s thin cheek, "Wenfeng! Are you feeling better?" He looked down, gazing at the boy who now resembled his best friend in many ways, and sighed inwardly.

If Cheng Wenfeng lost his life in this accident, Lu Zheng wouldn’t just feel extre guilt; he wouldn’t even know how to explain it to others.

This child was his best friend’s son, and he wouldn’t tolerate anyone harming him.

If he hadn’t learned from Lin Xia that his granduncle had already found the two boys who hurt Cheng Wenfeng and also caught Ji Man, he wouldn’t have given up on revenge.

Cheng Wenfeng’s eyes sparkled, "Much better! Thank you for coming to see , Uncle Lu!"

In reality, the person Cheng Wenfeng most wanted to see was his granduncle, but he dared not reveal this in front of Lu Zheng.

Lu Zheng didn’t stay long in the hospital; he exchanged a few words with Liang Wei in the corridor before leaving.

Lin Xia was busy in the workshop; with Liang Wei absent, she had to work harder, not only handling external business but also overseeing the production in the workshop.

When Lin Xia saw the tall figure of her man appear, she happily greeted him with a smile, "You’re back? Did you go to the hospital?"

"Yes, I ca straight from the hospital!" Lu Zheng swept his gaze across the workshop and noticed everyone staring at him with great interest.

He wasn’t used to being observed, "Wife! Let’s talk upstairs!"

"Okay!" Lin Xia followed Lu Zheng back to the office on the second floor.

After closing the door, the two sat together cuddling before Lu Zheng spoke, "Wife! If it weren’t for granduncle and Liang Wei finding Wenfeng in ti, the consequences would be unimaginable... I should have been more vigilant!" They had discussed hiring a few more people for the factory before attending Lin Qiu’s wedding.

Lu Zheng had actively started working on this upon returning, but with over a month until New Year’s, they wanted to get everything settled at ho before coming over.

Unexpectedly, Wenfeng had an accident before they could even get there.

Lin Xia understood his feelings and gently comforted him, "Xiaozheng, don’t bla yourself too much. No one expected this incident to happen."

"Those people have already sorted everything out at ho and are on their way here."

"Good! It will be better when they arrive!" Lin Xia, still shaken by Wenfeng’s accident, felt it was a good thing to have more strong security at the factory.

"What did granduncle say before he left?" So things were hard to convey over the phone, and Lu Zheng only got the gist of it.

Lin Xia looked up from his embrace and said, "Granduncle said before he left that Ji Man would never have another opportunity to harm anyone."

Lu Zheng was curious, "Where did he take Ji Man?"

Lin Xia shook her head, "He didn’t tell , he just left it at that. I asked several tis but he wouldn’t reveal it. Why don’t you ask him when he cos back? Maybe he’ll tell you!"

Lin Xia understood her granduncle’s intentions; even if Ji Man went to prison, the sentence might not be long, and she might co out even more vengeful.

However, where exactly Ji Man was taken, Lin Xia didn’t know.

Her granduncle didn’t want to burden her with unnecessary psychological stress.

"Alright! I’ll ask granduncle when he returns."

Lu Zheng held Lin Xia’s face, full of concern, "Wife! You seem to have lost so weight, your face is thinner. Are you tired?"

Lin Xia comfortably leaned back into his arms, "No! With Sister Liang away and several orders to get out quickly, I kept an eye on everything. Plus, Wenfeng’s incident made anxious.

Well, isn’t losing so weight a good thing? After having our child, my waistline has grown; it used to be a trim 18 inches."

Lin Xia still thought losing weight would help her look better in clothes; won are particular about their figure.

But Lu Zheng disagreed, "I think having so at is better, it’s more comfortable to hold! I took a few days off this ti to make sure you eat and gain so weight back."

"Alright, alright, let you supervise then." Lin Xia liked his sweet domineering manner, happy to let him care for her.

Later, when they returned ho together, only Shao irou and Lu Pengcheng knew what was going on.

Shao Chengzhi, who was kept in the dark, even specifically asked Lu Zheng about work.

After hearing Lu Zheng’s impeccable answers, he dismissed his suspicions.

In private, Shao irou inquired Lin Xia, "Lin Xia! What did you find out? Is it really related to Ji Man?"

Shao irou wasn’t soone who could keep things to herself; she had already told Lu Pengcheng everything.

If she wasn’t afraid of causing uncontrollable situations by talking to her sister, she might have already shared everything.

Lin Xia gave her a half-truth, "It’s related to her! Those two boys were found! Granduncle sent them to the police station!"

"Great! They should be severely punished!" Shao irou anxiously asked, "But how old are those boys? Can they be sentenced?"

Lin Xia lied convincingly, "They can! They are old enough!" Actually, they weren’t.

"Ah! That’s good! They need to be incarcerated and re-educated, perhaps they’ll change and beco better people upon release!"

Thinking of Ji Man, Shao irou felt emotional, "Lin Xia, I think it’s unbelievable sotis. When you and Xiaozheng got married, Ji Man even attended your wedding.

Back then, she didn’t seem like such a vicious person. Who could have imagined all the things that happened later? Actually, there’s sothing Mom didn’t tell you!"

"What is it, Mom?" Lin Xia’s curiosity was piqued by Shao irou.

"During the New Year, granduncle dragged her upstairs from your room, they argued and she refused to co down for dinner. I specially brought her food, and she tried to stir trouble again with the things she said to Lu Qing, trying to rile up our family."

Even now, when Shao irou rembered it, she felt a cold sweat; if that girl had hurt herself in their ho, it would have ruined their New Year.

Lin Xia really didn’t know what to say about Ji Man; she had long suspected Ji Man wouldn’t miss a chance to sow discord.
