710: Chapter 709: Testing 710: Chapter 709: Testing Shao Chengzhi was the old supervisor of Hua Yongbing, and all his sons had t him before.

They encountered Shao Chengzhi in the bathhouse, so it was impossible not to speak to him.

All of them greeted him respectfully and in unison.

Shao Chengzhi nodded indifferently; he hadn’t expected to run into Hua Yongbing’s sons here.

Because of what happened to Lin Dong, he held considerable resentnt towards Hua Yongbing and his niece.

However, one must differentiate matters; this had nothing to do with these children.

Seeing the delicate boy lagging a few steps behind, harboring intense animosity towards his grandson Lu Zheng, he couldn’t help but give him a couple of extra glances.

Not wanting to cause even greater embarrassnt and conflict, Hua Yongbing’s sons, as if ng Xiangnan didn’t exist, greeted Shao Chengzhi and then walked inside to find a spot.

Lu Zheng’s face was grim as he stared at the back of ng Xiangnan, his eyes flickering.

He purposely said to Shao Chengzhi, “Grandpa!

We’ll get dressed and head out quickly!

I think my wife is pregnant, and she definitely won’t take too long with my mom!”

The reason he spoke about this in front of ng Xiangnan and Hua Yongbing’s sons, who were not far away, was twofold;

He had two purposes in mind.

First, he wanted to discreetly observe ng Xiangnan’s reaction upon hearing this, to see if he knew anything.

If ng Xiangnan’s reaction raised his suspicions, he wouldn’t mind using the young man as a breakthrough.

Second, even if ng Xiangnan was clueless, he could still use him to probe other mbers of the ng Family.

Despite so puzzling aspects of the whole abortion pill affair, he still leaned towards the involvent of the ng Family!

Should soone learn that Lin Xia was unhard, they might start having ideas or taking action.

This way, he could also find out sooner who was pulling strings behind the scenes.

Shao Chengzhi’s movent of wiping his wet, graying hair paused; his grandson was not an impetuous person.

Suddenly speaking in such a manner in the presence of Hua Yongbing’s sons and that unfamiliar boy, he must have had a motive.

He looked up at Lu Zheng with a aningful gaze and then calmly played along, “Right!

It’s too hot and stuffy here for a pregnant woman to stay long!

Let’s head out quickly!”

ng Xiangnan truly didn’t disappoint Lu Zheng.

He continued to undress as usual, but his ears were closely following the conversation between Lu Zheng and Shao Chengzhi.

Upon hearing the grandfather and grandson’s words, a cold sneer unconsciously spilled from the corner of his mouth.

Lin Dong’s sister was indeed highly valued!

Was it just because she was pregnant that even her uncle’s old supervisor had to comply with their wishes!

Yet his own sister had been hard so grievously by them, and it seed to have no effect on them at all.

Why?

Simply because their family had power and influence?

Even his uncle dared not intervene to help?

Lu Zheng’s gaze was sharp as he looked towards ng Xiangnan, missing none of his reactions or subtle expressions.

ng Xiangnan, who was bending down to undress, felt a cold stare directed at him.

Indignant, he looked up to et Lu Zheng’s eyes, his own filled with anger, scorn, and thick hatred.

However, Lu Zheng didn’t see in ng Xiangnan’s reaction what he had hoped to see.

Lu Zheng looked away, helped Shao Chengzhi with his shoes, and shortly after the two left the n’s bath one after the other.

After they left, Hua Yongbing’s sons all breathed a great sigh of relief; with Shao Chengzhi present, their fingers felt sowhat clumsy while undressing.

ng Xiangnan glared hatefully towards the door through which Lu Zheng and his grandfather had left, his red-rimd eyes brimming with frustration and rage…

After Lu Zheng and his grandfather ca out, they did not see Lin Xia and Shao irou.

Shao Chengzhi sat on the wooden bench alongside Lu Zheng as they waited; he asked, “Xiaozheng, who is that boy?”

He had watched the boy’s interactions and exchanges of glares with Lu Zheng, from which he had discerned so clues.

Combined with the hesitations and embarrassnts of Hua Yongbing’s sons, his suspicions grew even stronger.

Lu Zheng clenched his fist and coughed lightly, whispering, “The brother of ng Xiangzi!”

“No wonder!” Shao Chengzhi imdiately guessed sothing more, “Could it be that…”

Lu Zheng interrupted what Shao Chengzhi was about to say next, “Grandpa!

It’s not convenient to talk here!

When we get back, I’ll tell you everything!”

Shao Chengzhi nodded, “Okay!” His mind was already brimming with vague suspicions.

Lin Xia and Shao irou didn’t keep Lu Zheng and the others waiting for too long before they ca out one after the other.

The four of them returned ho together.

After taking a bath, Lin Xia felt exceptionally drained and wanted nothing more than to lie down and sleep.

She told the three of them and went straight to her room to rest.

After Lin Xia had gone to her room, Shao irou intended to find Lu Zheng alone to offer a few words of advice.

She knew her daughter-in-law was shy, so she didn’t feel comfortable reminding her about the marks on her neck in front of everyone.

But with her own son, she had no such reservations.

She was genuinely concerned that her vigorous young son might not have controlled himself and accidentally hard the unborn child.

By then, there would be no redy for regret!

“Xiaozheng, Mom wants to talk to you!”

Lu Zheng proposed right away, “Sure, Mom!

I also have sothing to discuss with you and Grandpa.

Let’s go to the study to talk!”

He didn’t want to keep this matter from his family.

When he returned that afternoon, he didn’t bring it up imdiately partly because he was considerate of Grandpa’s mood, and also because he wanted to see Lin Xia and sort out his turbulent thoughts.

Shao irou, not knowing as much as Shao Chengzhi, followed them to the study in a bit of confusion.

When Lu Zheng revealed what he had accidentally discovered at Fang Youlan’s house, along with the fact that the Fetal Exchange dicine was actually an abortion pill,

Shao Chengzhi was furious, “…We must find out who’s behind this mischief!

Such vile actions deserve nothing less than a thousand cuts!”

He was so agitated that he had to gently pat his chest to quell the towering rage within!

Even with his suspicions, Shao Chengzhi had never imagined that the reality would be hundreds, thousands of tis more horrifying than his worst fears!

While seething with anger, he also felt waves of relief; his long-awaited great-grandson had narrowly escaped being killed!

Moreover, the perpetrator had spitefully used Fang Youlan as a pawn to harm others.

If their plot had succeeded, they might all have blad Fang Youlan, completely overlooking the sche behind the events.

Besides, even if they had noticed sothing amiss and managed to find the person behind it all, what good would it do?

Who could give him back a living great-grandson?

Shao irou was rarely so incensed, “Who could be so malicious to do such things behind our backs?

The chicken soup that your grandmother brought over that day…

If Lin Xia had really drunk it, wouldn’t my grandson have…”

When Shao irou thought about the child inside Lin Xia, whether a boy or a girl, nearly having their life snuffed out right before her eyes,

she felt an intense hatred for the foolish and ignorant Fang Youlan and for the person who had exploited her!
