517: Chapter 516: So It Was Her!

517: Chapter 516: So It Was Her!

Lin Xia and Lu Zheng stood together, he a tall and imposingly handso man, she a delicate beauty leaning on him.

The many guests all praised their union, declaring them a match made in heaven.

Shao Chengzhi’s group of close friends and buddies also attended the wedding, among them was Ye Yongfeng!

Ye Yongfeng didn’t co alone; with him ca his son and daughter-in-law, and his granddaughter Ye Lin also followed.

Ye Lin had made an extra effort today, having styled her hair and done her makeup ahead of ti, and choosing the most fashionable outfit, all aid to outshine the bride.

But when she actually sat down and saw the bride Lin Xia, radiant in her wedding attire, she suddenly lost the urge to compete with her.

Actually, what was the use in comparing herself with soone else?

No matter how beautiful she was, she wouldn’t catch Lu Zheng’s eye!

Seeing Lu Zheng, who was always cold and reserved in her presence, looking at Lin Xia with such warmth and deep affection, her heart ached dull pain.

She had liked Lu Zheng for so long, yet he ended up with another woman.

She had been unconvinced before because that woman, in both family background and otherwise, was in no way better than her.

She just couldn’t understand what Lu Zheng saw in such a country girl!

But now, that woman had a family background that could rival hers, no longer the unknown girl from so backwater village.

Ye Lin’s mother gently patted the back of her hand and whispered softly, “Lilin!

Mom agreed to let you co not to see you upset!”

She had noticed her daughter’s expression early on; how could she be unaware of her own child’s thoughts?

But so things are just not ant to be, and she and Lu Zheng simply weren’t destined.

Actually, she hadn’t wanted her daughter to co today, but couldn’t stand Ye Lin’s persistent begging and finally gave in reluctantly.

“I know!

Mom!” Ye Lin spoke softly, gazing at her grandfather Ye Yongfeng at the next table chatting and laughing with Lu Zheng’s grandfather and Lin Xia’s maternal grandfather, she could only keep her feelings of discontent to herself for the mont.

The wedding ceremony was simple, and after it ended, Lu Zheng and Lin Xia together visited guests to toast.

As they toasted several key elders, Lin Xia felt a strange sensation, as if soone were staring intently at her.

There were many guests in the hotel, and the place was buzzing with sounds; Lin Xia initially didn’t notice.

But as the odd feeling persisted, she followed her instincts to seek out the source of the gaze.

When she discovered a young girl at the next table staring intently at her, she gave her a second glance and realized she had t this girl twice before!

The first ti was when she and Jiang Mingyuan were returning on the train after buying goods in the provincial capital.

The second ti was when she and Lu Zheng went to the provincial capital to et his parents, and she coincidentally bumped into this girl at the hotel entrance, which left her chest in pain for quite a while.

She never expected to encounter this girl at her and Lu Zheng’s wedding venue.

Lu Zheng noticed Lin Xia’s gaze fixed in one direction, and he followed her look.

Upon seeing it was Ye Lin, his brows involuntarily furrowed, clearly surprised and displeased that Ye Lin was attending his wedding.

He knew exactly what Ye Lin felt for him, but he truly had no feelings for her.

Later, because of Ye Lin, he even almost had a misunderstanding with Lin Xia, which only deepened his dislike for her.

Lu Zheng’s change in expression did not escape Lin Xia’s notice, and she whispered, holding his hand, “Who is she?” wondering if she might be soone with so connection to Lu Zheng.

“Ye Lin!” Lu Zheng whispered back into Lin Xia’s ear.

Lin Xia’s eyes widened in surprise, “So it’s her!”

Lin Xia distinctly rembered Ye Lin, the granddaughter of Ye Lao, whom Shao ifang had spoken of.

She had first heard of Ye Lin when she followed Lu Zheng to et his parents, during which the Shao irou sisters went to the hotel to find her and ntioned Ye Lin spending New Year’s at the company with Lu Zheng.

She had not expected to have such a fate with this Ye Lin, having t more than once.

Lu Zheng’s expression darkened, “You’ve t her?”

Lin Xia whispered, “Yeah!

Twice!”

“Xiaozheng!

Lin Xia!

Fill the cups up!” At this mont, Lu Pengcheng asked Lu Zheng and Lin Xia to pour drinks for Shao Chengzhi and the others.

“Okay!” Lin Xia picked up the wine bottle and began pouring wine into the small cups.

Lu Zheng understood that now was not the ti to ask those questions, so he maintained a faint smile, but a thoughtful look flashed through his eyes.

Ye Lin observed Lu Zheng and Lin Xia’s interactions, naturally noticing their subtle interactions.

The expression Lu Zheng had when he saw her just now was quite hurtful as if he was unhappy and annoyed to see her!

She was just here to see how his wedding was, wasn’t she?

She hadn’t done anything excessive!

It truly was a case of finding a pretext to accuse her.

When it was ti to toast at their table, implying it was sufficient, she really wanted to say sothing but was suddenly pulled by her mother’s arm.

“Linlin!” Ye’s mother warned with a look at Ye Lin, having kept a close watch on her daughter for fear she might behave inappropriately and embarrass their family.

Today was different from other days; it was Lu Zheng of the Lu Family who was getting married, and all the guests coming and going were people of status and position.

Sitting quietly at the table, seemingly low-key and approachable while toasting, so guests were quite significant figures outside.

After Lu Zheng and Lin Xia had made their rounds with the toasts, the couple sat down at the main table to eat.

Lin Xia felt that, from making the rounds, not only was her brain foggy, but her face had almost stiffened from smiling.

Whether Lu Zheng or his parents introduced soone to her, she would politely smile and greet them.

Now, she only rembered one of Lu Zheng’s good friends nad Gu Siqing, a handso man!

Lu Zheng even whispered to her that this person was the friend with whom he started a company.

As for the rest of the people, if asked to address them again, she definitely would not be able to recall.

Lu Zheng, considerately offering Lin Xia so dishes, took the opportunity to quietly inquire about her eting Ye Lin twice.

“Wife!

How did you et her?

Tell about it!”

Lin Xia swallowed the food in her mouth and briefly explained her two encounters with Ye Lin.

Lu Zheng’s gaze flickered at the ntion of their first encounter on the train, which had occurred when Ye Lin was visiting her cousin.

At that ti, he and Lin Xia had not started dating, so it should be considered a coincidence.

But the second ti…

According to what Lin Xia had said, running into each other at the entrance of the hotel where she was staying was indeed worth pondering!

It probably wasn’t just a simple coincidence!

He quietly shared his thoughts.

Lin Xia touched his leg under the table; she had co to the sa conclusion!

She didn’t think much of it when she didn’t know that the girl was Ye Lin.

She only thought it was a chance encounter, but now, having seen Ye Lin in person, she was no longer going to think so naively of the situation.

Nevertheless, Lin Xia didn’t want to think about another woman on such a beautiful day, so she offered Lu Zheng a piece of chicken, “Let’s not think about that anymore!

After all, we are already married…”

Even if Ye Lin had intended to cause trouble or do sothing before, delving into it now was no longer necessary since they had already consummated their marriage.
