Chapter 661: He descends from heaven —

Shen Zhixi’s lips curved into a aningful arc, “Xia Ye, you’ve known who I am for a while, haven’t you?”

Both were seated, almost at eye level.

Xia Ye leaned back, her legs crossed at the ankles, her posture casual and rebellious.

She looked quite wild.

If one didn’t look carefully at the ropes on her hands, they might think she was the kidnapper, and the sickly Shen Zhixi the prisoner instead.

The sound of a door opening echoed from behind, and footsteps approached—Xia Ye found them especially familiar at that mont. Sealed mories started to crack open, recalling those 14 years of captivity when she had heard these familiar footsteps countless tis.

“I know,” Xia Ye sprawled her hands on the back of the chair, “Only you would co up with sothing this nasty.”

Shen Zhixi seed patient, glancing calmly over her shoulder, where the footsteps obediently stopped.

Shen Zhixi smiled at Xia Ye, “As long as you behave, I’ll personally release you. Leave this place with and we can return to the way things were, roaming the world, wandering the ends of the earth.”

Xia Ye stared at him, her voice light, “You’re dreaming, friend.”

Shen Zhixi’s expression grew colder, the venomous fangs behind his mask revealing themselves, “Are you mistaken? You only avoid getting hurt by obeying. I’ll ask you one more ti, are you willing to co with ?”

As his words fell, footsteps resud behind him.

Rough hemp ropes were wound in front of Xia Ye, tightening loop by loop, binding a cold and hard object behind her back.

Xia Ye tilted her head up from behind, eting Luo Yisan’s cold and indifferent eyes.

Unlike the unpredictable Shen Zhixi, the emotions in those eyes were easy to discern.

Hatred, etched into his bones.

Shen Zhixi frowned, “Be gentle.”

“Yes,” Luo Yisan replied.

But the force of his hands did not lessen.

The man skillfully wrapped a few loops of tape around the wires, and soon, the beeping of a tir countdown began.

Xia Ye, “Professor Luo is wasting his talent as a doctor; he should be a bomb expert.”

Luo Yisan didn’t say a word, completed his task, and retreated to one side.

The countdown displayed 20 minutes.

19:59, 19:58…

With each decreasing number, the pressure intensified, overlapping with her heartbeat, a hint of madness flashed in Shen Zhixi’s eyes, “Last ti the police intervened, but you won’t be so lucky this ti. With only 19 minutes left, do you think Director Jiang will find you?”

“Co with , I’ll help you regain your Spiritual Power. The rules of Ear Mountain can’t restrain us. From now on, we can be as free as we desire…”

Shen Zhixi closed his eyes, his mind filled with those beautiful scenes from long ago.

The little fox hated being constrained the most, loathed the sanctimonious deity above Ear Mountain’s great hall, enjoyed wandering the human world with him, loved drinking and carousing with him.

She would definitely agree, for her, nothing was more tempting than freedom—

“It’s actually nice to have soone care about .”

A phrase entirely different from his expectations floated into his ears, and Shen Zhixi suddenly opened his eyes, “What did you say?”

He almost asked with a laugh, because such a statent coming from Xia Ye was too unbelievable; he must have misheard.

Xia Ye repeated, “I think, having soone to care for isn’t so bad occasionally.”

She used to dislike it, but ever since she got a ‘fatherly’ boyfriend, she slowly got used to it.

It wasn’t completely domineering; that kind of control was also a form of freedom.

By nature, she was wild, utterly self-assertive.

Shen Zhixi thought they were the sa, but they were completely different.

Humans are born free, provided they abide by the law. To be free in Ear Mountain, one must not cross moral boundaries.

Xia Ye looked at him, her eyes devoid of even a trace of affection, filled instead with pity.

Shen Zhixi clenched the jade artifact in his hand, jealousy churning within him.

The countdown continued.

9:59, 9:58…

As ti slipped away bit by bit, Shen Zhixi seed unconcerned, his eyes fixated on Xia Ye, as if struggling for the last ti: “I have been harsh to others because they don’t deserve better, but I’ve never hurt you. Everything I’ve done, I did for you…”

His heartfelt ‘confession’ was interrupted by Xia Ye’s cold laugh; she glanced at herself, “Are you serious?”

Shen Zhixi looked at the bomb on her body, his expression filled with disappointnt, “You never trust . The way I treated you back then was because that person was not you. Now that you’re back, do you really think I’d be willing to hurt you?”

Xia Ye glanced at the tir connected behind her as if discerning sothing.

Shen Zhixi’s voice grew more agitated, he smashed the purple jade stone in his hand against the armrest of the wheelchair, “The bomb is fake; I just wanted to force you to co with !”
