Chapter 578: 332, send five more jin! _2

Seeing the servants rushing in and out with panicked expressions, he finally realized what was happening, put away his phone, and called the butler: “Prepare the car, I’m also going to the hospital.”

**

Shen Zhiqiao was turned away at the hospital today. She brought experintal exchange data, but Professor Luo was not there.

The head of neurology said he had gone abroad for a conference and would be back in a few days.

Since he was not around, Shen Zhiqiao planned to leave, but just as she reached the main entrance, she heard the siren of an ambulance getting closer.

The ambulance had barely co to a stop when doctors erged from the front and rear doors. A woman on the stretcher, pale-faced and with a prominently swollen abdon, ca into view.

The doctors were reporting the patient’s condition over the phone to the operating room while following the stretcher.

Shen Zhiqiao heard alarming phrases like premature birth, difficult labor, and urgent need for a blood transfusion.

On impulse, she glanced at the woman on the stretcher and Shen Zhiqiao’s steps faltered.

Wasn’t this… the lady of the Jiang Family?

The Jiang Family was well-known in Capital City, but she knew Liu Manyi because of Professor Luo.

Liu Manyi’s pregnancy was under Professor Luo’s care, sothing she had heard about.

Moreover, she had once seen Liu Manyi’s very detailed prenatal reports on Professor Luo’s desk.

These were data screenings that regular pregnant won usually wouldn’t do, which mainly assessed the nutritional status of the mother and the fetus’s developnt rate.

From the first check-up to the most recent one, not a single data point was missed.

At that mont, Shen Zhiqiao knew that Professor Luo was a doctor who took great responsibility for his patients.

Unfortunately, the pregnant woman seed not to be aware of the need for caution. Now that Professor Luo had gone abroad, she had managed to put herself in such a state.

Thinking it might be good to learn a bit more about Professor Luo’s patients, Shen Zhiqiao turned back towards the hospital.

Jiang Xuan and Jiang Jiujue arrived at the hospital almost at the sa ti. The usually gentlemanly Jiang He nearly stumbled out of the car.

His feet on the ground felt like stepping on cotton, offering no support.

Fortunately, Jiang Shan was there to support him.

By the ti the n arrived, Liu Manyi had already been taken into the operating room, leaving everyone else waiting outside.

Madam Li helped Jiang Jiujue sit down, while the others stood outside the operating room.

Jiang Shan reassured, “Big brother, don’t worry, you’ve done so many good deeds, sister-in-law and the child won’t co to any harm.”

Jiang He nodded, his expression seemingly calm, though inside he was desperate to rush into the operating room.

Jiang Jiujue glanced at the ti, “Xuanxuan, I called Yeye long ago. Why hasn’t she arrived yet? Do you want to check again?”

Jiang Xuan pondered for a mont, then said in a deep voice, “Let’s wait a little longer.”

Thinking of sothing, he turned to Jiang He, “Who is sister-in-law’s attending physician?”

Jiang He took a long ti to co back to his senses, “Ah, I heard it’s Professor Luo from the renowned Shen Family. Why do you ask, could it be you think…”

In fact, he also found it suspicious. The doctor arranged for his wife should be highly professional.

But could it be that Professor Luo had not noticed the fetus’s excessive nutrition causing an unbearable burden on the mother’s body, leading to premature birth and difficult labor?

“Are you already thinking of shifting the responsibility onto the attending physician before the patient even cos out?”

But before Jiang He could finish his sentence, he heard a young girl’s arrogant voice speak up from one side.

The Jiang Family mbers turned their heads at the sound and recognized the speaker as Shen Zhiqiao, the young lady of the Shen Family.

Jiang Shan was about to explain when Jiang Xuan’s gaze followed a beat slower, but he spoke first.

“Miss Shen,” he said coldly, “you know Professor Luo well?”

Carefully considered, this was the first ti Shen Zhiqiao had spoken with Jiang Xuan.

Jiang Xuan only taught freshman economics in a public course, so Shen Zhiqiao had no interaction with him.

She had heard that Mr. Jiang was Xia Ye’s boyfriend and that he had given up his professorship for Xia Ye; she had expected Mr. Jiang to be a lovesick puppy, or one of those amorous and promiscuous types from a consortium, but her impression was completely overturned upon eting him today.

He radiated a strong aura of authority, his face like frost, his eyes deep like the ocean. If not for mbers of the student union confidently telling her that Xia Ye was truly with Professor Jiang, she might have thought this man was utterly devoid of emotions.

Shen Zhiqiao shivered, a doubt forming in her mind about what his words had ant.

‘Miss Shen, you know Professor Luo well?’

His words were slow, carrying a tone of subtle mockery. He wasn’t asking her; his aning was clear: Miss Shen, do you think you know Professor Luo so well?

Shen Zhiqiao bit her lip, suddenly unable to reply.

After a few seconds of silence, she turned to leave and said with less conviction than before, “Professor Luo has gone abroad for a conference. Discussing this now is pointless. The patient’s matters can only be entrusted to other doctors for now.”
