Alwin was horrified at the thought that his respectable and prideful elders, who didn’t like depending on other people, had to depend on the Pope because of him.

[What should I do?

I should apologize, but there are others here.

Perhaps, once they are gone.

I should thank the Pope first in the anti.]

"Thank you for taking the ti to heal ," Alwin said politely.

"It was my pleasure. It’s not done yet, though, so please allow to continue," the Pope smiled.

[It’s good that he woke up and saw it was healing him.

He would be curious about the divine power and the temple after this, right?

I know just from looking at this place that he’s just like .

Curious, eager to learn, and actively experints.]

Arabella learned from the Pope’s thoughts that he once was a magician who loved to learn about the unknown and experint with various things, just as Alwin was now.

However, right now, Alwin was concerned about sothing else.

[I shouldn’t bother everyone anymore.

How can I allow myself to blunder like this?!

This ans I need to get stronger.

I’m not capable enough yet.

This is exactly why so many people died because of !]

’He is blaming himself again!’

Arabella gulped as she eyed Alwin with concern. She recalled how, from Elder Satara’s story, Alwin was alive because of the protection and sacrifice of many elves.

’Is he always this strict with himself because of that?’

Arabella knew one reason was that Alwin wanted to prove he deserved to have been saved by Ferdinand and raised by him and the others.

It seems this was also one of the reasons why Alwin was obsessed with getting stronger, because he believed it was his fault a lot of the elves died protecting him.

"I already feel good enough. I think I have recovered already, thanks to your help," Alwin said.

"No, please let complete my task. It’s my deal with your elders, after all," the Pope maintained his smile.

Alwin glanced at his elders, and they nodded, "I see. Then, please continue."

[What deal did they make?

Did they have to give away sothing important because of this?

What should I do?

How will I make up for it?

If I knew I would pass out, I wouldn’t have drunk so many recovery potions!]

Alwin was more worried about how he was going to make up for this than about his health.

’Geez. This is exactly why they needed to punish him.’

Arabella sighed and continued watching as the Pope resud his healing.

[I feel sothing warm flow inside my body.

It’s like receiving treatnt with mana, but also different.

He is able to restore a lot of my mana in a few seconds...

He must be really powerful...

This is the Pope’s Divine Power?

How does this work?

Will I learn more about this if I agree to his offer last ti?

This is limited to humans only, though.

But if I learn about it, I’ll know how to deal with it in case they beco our enemy.]

Just as the Pope predicted, Alwin beca curious about Divine Power. However, not exactly as he wanted.

After a few minutes, the Pope said, "Alright! All done. Do you feel better?"

"Yes, I have recovered fully. My deepest gratitude for your help," Alwin said humbly with a tinge of embarrassnt and awe.

[He was able to restore all of my mana!

He’s truly capable!

Is this why he beca the Overseer of humans?

It is embarrassing to receive help from him like this.

But I do feel so much better after all the splitting headache and body pain I have been feeling.]

Alwin was impressed with the Pope’s healing.

"Thank you for healing, Alwin.

Please return to the receiving room in the anti.

We will convene there again, with Alwin once he’s ready.

Riley will escort you," Raymond said with a smile.

Arabella and the others thanked the Pope as well.

[He’s more capable than he seems to be able to fully restore Alwin’s mana without showing signs of exhaustion.]

All of Alwin’s elders noted that the Pope was not as simple as he looked.

Alvis then freed the Pope’s companions, and Riley teleported them to the room they were in previously.

[I knew it. He’s more dangerous than he looks but pretends to be harmless.] Alvis noted as well.

Once the guests were gone, Alwin imdiately got out of bed and bowed his head. He said, "My deepest apologies for causing trouble!"

[Why is this the first thing he says?]

His elders had their mouths agape in shock before they took a deep breath to calm themselves.

’You should look up and see your elder’s expressions!’ Arabella wanted to scream, but she remained silent since this was their mont.

[Did they punish him often for him to be acting like this?] Alvis thought but realized it wasn’t when he saw Raymond and Ferdinand’s expression.

"Alwin, you should be seated first. You just woke up," Alvis said in a gentle voice.

He was ready to help Alwin return to the bed in case he was not yet feeling well, but Alwin did not budge.

{What have you done to my precious nephew?!} Alvis glared at Ferdinand and Raymond.

{We were not cruel with him if that’s why you’re thinking.} Raymond said in an exasperated tone.

[It’s understandable for people to misunderstand if Alwin is like this.

But no matter what we did, it seems he always has another way to interpret it.

Is it because he’s so smart that he always complicates things?]

Raymond was getting frustrated with constantly getting misunderstood, no matter what they do.

[Fine. He misunderstands even if we are calm. But this ti had done things that we should discipline him for. We can’t just let him do as he pleases this ti.]

"Sit down, Alwin," Raymond said in a disciplinary voice that Arabella only heard from him today.

[He’s really angry!] Alwin obeyed without a word and sat as he was told.

From this scenario alone, it was clear Raymond was indeed the one who set the rules in Ferdinand’s island.
