"Thank you," Arabella smiled as Eunice and Aletha wrapped her up nicely in the warm coat.
She had dinner alone again. It made her miss Ferdinand even more. Eating with him helps her appetite since he eats a lot.
After dinner, Arabella returned to her study and continued working, waiting for Alwin to alert her when the ti had co to implent their plan.
Two hours later...
"Your Majesty, it’s ti," Alwin ca to remind her.
Arabella glanced outside the window. The moon had beautifully risen and made the surroundings bright.
"Perfect."
She rang her bell for her maids to co.
Alwin made himself invisible.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Eunice who had been on standby outside imdiately responded.
"Eunice, I would like to have so tea at the flower garden. Have it prepared and you may retire for the night. Have Renee take your place," Arabella instructed.
"Yes, Your Majesty. Would you like so refreshnts with your tea?"
"Yes, so light snacks would be great."
With that, Eunice inford the kitchen and coordinated with her guards about which part of the garden would be the venue.
Rendell knew Arabella’s plan with Alwin and showed the spot they had agreed upon earlier.
Arabella’s maids then prepared everything and only had Renee remain to serve her.
"Did Marcus contact you again?" Arabella inquired once it was just them.
Rendell and Rowan stood a good distance away while Alwin remained invisible though he was close by.
"No, Your Majesty," Renee responded.
"I see."
’That’s a relief. But we still need to remain on alert. Who knows, they might be planning to get Renee by force.’
"The moon is quite beautiful tonight, isn’t it?" Arabella looked up at the night sky as she spoke with Renee.
"Yes, Your Majesty. It’s so beautiful tonight. And it feels sowhat nostalgic."
[Nostalgic?! Does she unconsciously miss Umbra?]
Darcus and Orpheus could listen to their conversation from where they were.
[Her Majesty is so beautiful even in the moonlight. She looks like a fairy amidst these flower fields.] Renee began staring at her instead of the scenery, so Arabella had to divert her attention.
"Are you fond of the moon?" she asked, and Renee shook her head.
"No. I do not like it that much. But I like full moons like tonight since it’s almost as bright as daylight, but it doesn’t hurt to gaze at. It’s almost as if I can directly look at the sun."
Arabella stared at Renee at those words. It was almost as if it was a statent about Evania herself.
Evania desired to see the sun and she had sothing to run away from so she headed to the human realm, not knowing that in exchange for seeing the sun, she would go through so many hardships.
Alwin said that in Umbra, it was always nightti.
The view was always the moon and the stars or a completely dark sky.
The brightness of the sun and blue sky of the day were rely a legend to those born after Umbra’s separation. And only those who were sent on missions outside Umbra were able to see the sun.
Darcus had been to the human realm so he must have been one of Evania’s sources of information about what the sun was like, not knowing that soday, she would escape Umbra for it.
{Don’t get distracted.} Alwin reminded Arabella.
{Right. Make a cold breeze blow so I can instruct her to get a coat.} Arabella instructed and Alwin did.
Swoosh...
"Oh, it’s already getting cold. Can you fetch a coat?" she braced herself and rubbed her arms. She had intentionally left the coat she was wearing earlier.
"Yes, of course. Please wait here for a bit, Your Majesty," Renee quickly left since looking at the moon made her feel sowhat depressed.
Renee returned after a few minutes and helped Arabella put on the coat.
"Thank you. You may retire for the night. I will watch the moon a bit longer," Arabella dismissed her as planned.
Darcus and Orpheus prepared themselves.
Alwin made a mirage to make it look like Arabella was still having her tea and her guards were still in their position. Then, he made Arabella, Rendell, and Rowan invisible and cast a spell so they could follow Renee soundlessly.
Once Renee was on the spot they had agreed upon, Alwin made a barrier so the sound from there would not be heard by the knights.
Then he made a plant root sprout from the ground to trip Renee. Her shoe was stuck there so she lost her balance.
"Kyah!!" Renee scread she stretched her hands out to brace herself as she almost fell to the ground face first.
Darcus and Orpheus quickly caught her.
[Huh? Why didn’t I fall?]
"Are you alright, my lady?" Orpheus asked. Renee’s weight was supported by him.
Alwin made a gentle breeze blow as Arabella cued.
Orpheus’ long hair swayed with the wind and made him look even more attractive. He looked like a divinity who had descended on the full moon.
"So... so beautiful!" Renee said in awe as she gazed at him.
And he was indeed. His long black hair perfectly frad his face, and his pale skin was further emphasized by the moonlight. His red eyes were still unnerving for Arabella, but it seed, it didn’t bother Renee since those red orbs looked at her with care and gentleness.
[She liked ?!!] Orpheus was delighted since Evania seed to have never praised his appearance before. His ears had turned red.
"My lady, is your foot hurt? Please allow to check," Darcus cut in before all the attention went to Orpheus.
He had kneeled and picked up Renee’s shoe.
Arabella cued Alwin to make petals and leaves fall close to Darcus but not directly on him. It made the mont seem magical.
"So handso!" Renee gasped and quickly covered her mouth at the sight of such a good-looking man kneeling to her like the perfect knight.
Renee’s obsession with beauty made it easier to shake her heart. She just stared at him for seconds.
But Darcus wasn’t wearing a knight outfit. Orpheus as well.
Renee noticed it.
[They do not seem to be from here. I haven’t seen them before.]
