Alvis already knew the Fairy Queen would have never blad him. But he was burdened because he couldn’t help thinking that he was only making up an excuse not to feel responsible for her death.

However, after hearing soone else co to the sa conclusion just from listening to what happened in the past, he could finally think that he was not running away from guilt and responsibility.

"I hope you can mourn and move on from her death without blaming yourself about the past anymore," Arabella said since Alvis looked like he hadn’t mourned enough because of all the regret and self-bla he had imposed on himself.

"Thank you."

[She’s still young in this body. But I can feel that her soul is very old. It had existed for eons long before I was even born.]

’He can even tell that?’ Arabella was astounded by Alvis’ abilities. It was no wonder that he was the King of the Elves.

[Is that why she’s open-minded and has such wise words? It’s like she had experienced it herself.]

’Sothing like that.’

"I am delighted and relieved that the Great Primordial’s mate is soone like you. I believe you will be able to understand where he is coming from and why he behaves the way he does."

"Behaves the way he does?" Arabella repeated.

What was that supposed to an?

"I respect all the Primordial Dragons.

"But it is common knowledge among us that they are easily bored.

"May be prone to anger or on the opposite, completely unemotional, more traditional than the rest of us.

"Hate changes much more than we do even after witnessing it for so long.

"And used to having their way since of course, they have all the power to do so," Alvis related.

He looked like he had been in trouble due to it quite a lot of tis.

’I see. So, it wasn’t just Ferdinand,’ she glanced at Rendell and Rowan and they both thought the sa but respected Ferdinand all the sa.

Arabella couldn’t help a light laugh.

She did not expect to hear this from soone of the long-lived race.

They seed to have reflected a lot after the Great War and had recognized the necessity of change.

"My husband is indeed like that before. But I believe he is changing now."

[Him? Changing? It’s hard to believe.

[But the fact that he got married, marked her as his mate, and gave her this much mana indeed speaks volus.

[He wouldn’t have cared to do any of such things before. He would have just thought of it as a pain.]

Alvis was about to speak but Ferdinand suddenly teleported into the room with Riley.

"Alvis, how dare you spout such nonsense to ruin my image. And to my wife nonetheless," Ferdinand glared at their guest.

"I was simply stating a fact though," Alvis countered before standing and giving the greeting they all do for the Primordials.

Arabella also rose and greeted Ferdinand the Valerian way.

"Arabella don’t believe him," Ferdinand ignored Alvis and walked to her. He wrapped an arm around her waist and Alvis smiled at the possessive gesture.

[He changed indeed. Who would believe he would have this kind of expression on his face soday? Compared to how he was in the past, he shockingly looks gentle.]

"Did everything go well in Valeria?" Arabella diverted the topic.

"Yes. Did this elf tell you anything weird?" Ferdinand was wary.

"No. We were waiting for you. He said he had sothing to speak to you about," Arabella inford.

[It must be about Alwin.]

"What is it?" Ferdinand eyed Alvis.

"Where did you send off my nephew? I suddenly stopped feeling his presence weeks ago. I didn’t panic since his branch on the Holy Tree was still there."

"Right! Why didn’t I think about that?" Ferdinand exclaid at the ntion of the Holy Tree.

Ferdinand explained for Arabella to understand.

He said the elves had a Holy Tree where the King and Queen could monitor the lives of the elves. They would know about new births and deaths through it.

It was why Alvis kept calling Ronald a new bud because, in the Holy Tree, Ronald was still just a small bud.

It left Ferdinand’s mind since it had been more than 16,000 years since he last saw the Holy Tree. If he had gone to the elf’s abode, he would have known Alwin was surely alive.

Ferdinand believed in Alwin’s abilities. And wanted to keep believing that Alwin was alive. However, visiting that tree would have given them the assurance they needed.

Riley and all the others did not know about the tree since it was in a location that only those with the highest mana could access.

It was also supposed to be a secret of the Elf Royal Family but the two were just speaking about it in front of them.

Arabella and the others wondered if they should excuse themselves, but they were not given any sign they should leave.

"How is his branch? Is it still healthy?" Ferdinand inquired instead of answering Alvis’ question.

"It is not. Half of it had turned black. It ant he was under a curse.

"I waited for days thinking he would be able to cure himself or rid himself of the curse but there was no change. aning he couldn’t.

"So, I tried undoing it through the Holy Tree, but I couldn’t as well. It ant he was in a location I could not access.

"What kind of dangerous place did you send him to? I should be able to access him through the Holy Tree anywhere with plants," Alvis was out of his wits.

Alwin was his only mory of his brother who passed on during the Great War. Another regret Alvis harbored.

"He is in Umbra," Ferdinand revealed, and Alvis was left speechless for a few seconds.

"Why send him to such a dangerous place?!" The Elf King gripped at his clothes. "We don’t even know what that place is like now. The Great Primordial Dragon of Darkness was the last to head there."

"A princess from Umbra had gotten lost in the human realm. She needed to be returned ho before she caused trouble. But she had no mories of her original self. Alwin went to inform her family and have them retrieve her. Elrond had approved of it," Ferdinand explained.

"A princess? Why would a princess get lost in the human realm? Did no one accompany her? That’s suspicious."

"She must be a runaway," Ferdinand already figured. "They have those occasionally. Or those with her died in the human realm so she was left alone."
