"Y-Your Majesty, I’m so sorry. I won’t do it again. Please give another chance," Narcissa paled and begged on her knees.

"I will not accept your apology now. I need you to reflect and understand your actions first, so I am giving you a month to think about everything deeply," Arabella did not change her mind even when Narcissa cried.

"Your Majesty. Please don’t fire . I will do better. I won’t do those things again. Just please don’t fire ," Narcissa begged.

[I can’t be fired. My family will be furious. I will beco an embarrassnt to Ryvaleh for getting fired after just a few months.]

"I am not firing you. Not yet at least. It will depend on what decisions you make and how you behave after a month. So, for now, I’m giving you so ti to ponder over things. Competition is not bad, Narcissa.

"It’s fine to feel competitive towards your fellow assistants and desire to perform or achieve better than they do. But you must do it fairly. Do it with your capabilities, not underhanded tactics.

"Rember that Valeria’s law. Your value as a civil servant is defined by your performance. Not anything else. Thus, abiding by this, Ivan had the most value, followed by Nadia and Odette. Then, you. They had more value than you in terms of performance and ability now, so I must choose them. They are also the ones in the right since they did not do anything wrong.

"If you want to defeat them, you must do it with your performance. Strive to improve yourself instead of dragging others down. If your performance becos better than theirs, it is then that I can say that you are more valuable than they are as an assistant.

"But that doesn’t an you can bully the others. Look at Ivan, he is already very much capable and had already achieved so much in Cordelia but chose to challenge himself and ca here. Yet, he remained humble and didn’t step on others. He only did his best to shine with his abilities.

"As I have said earlier, you are also very much capable and have a lot of potential. That’s among the reasons I summoned you here alone. I didn’t want to embarrass you to everyone. And as much as possible, I don’t want the public to know about this because I don’t want your reputation to be ruined when you have so much potential. I talked to you like this because I wanted to give you a chance. I hope you do not waste it. And I hope you will reflect and learn from this experience."

Arabella felt bad as Narcissa cried. But crying won’t solve or undo the things Narcissa had done. She wanted Narcissa to regret what she did and learn her lesson, so she would not do this again.

"I will summon you again after a month. Only then will I listen to your apology and take your decision seriously. For now, you may return to the Ryvaleh estate," Arabella dismissed Narcissa.

She had to be stern or else Narcissa would think she was just words but no action. If she doesn’t do this, Narcissa and other people who learn about this would think she would just allow herself and her assistants to be bullied.

Arabella needed to show; that she would take care of her own people even if the ones who hurt them were one of her own.

If getting scolded by her family is what would make Narcissa realize that her actions were wrong, and regret it, then Arabella will let that happen for her to learn her lesson.

’I have to redistribute her tasks to everyone,’ Arabella sighed deeply once Narcissa had left. She didn’t want to suspend Narcissa now when there’s so much work to do but she had to.

’I’ll distribute her tasks to my assistants from the most powerful houses since they also have a lot of connections here in the capital. Nadia and Odette wouldn’t be able to do it since they are new here.’

Arabella then visited her office to redistribute the tasks.

Her assistants who didn’t know she was here were very much shocked.

"Greetings to Your Majesty!" All of them rose and greeted.

"Welco back to Valeria. We are all elated that Your Majesty returned safe and sound," they all added in unison. They had practiced how to welco her back once she returned.

"Thank you. I hope you are all doing well," Arabella smiled. "I am only here for a bit to make an announcent. I still have a lot of things to work on with His Majesty so I cannot say when I will truly return here in the palace."

[Announcent? What would be so important if Her Majesty had to co all the way here when she’s so busy? She could have just sent soone.]

[Narcissa is not back yet from the Magic Tower. Should we tell Her Majesty she was summoned there?]

[Her Majesty did not hear we were causing a ruckus here earlier, right?]

"As you already know, I have summoned Ivan and Ronald to assist with work. It was then that I discovered that sothing unpleasant was going on here while I was away. I was the one who summoned Nadia and Odette earlier. Narcissa as well. Due to Narcissa’s actions while I was gone, I had suspended her for a month to reflect on her actions," Arabella announced, and her assistants glanced at each other.

Except for Nadia and Odette who knew the truth, the others all had the sa thoughts.

[Who reported her? Was it Ronald?]

[Ivan doesn’t look like he was one to speak about such matters. How did Her Majesty know? Was it soone from the kitchen?]

[Did Nadia and Odette send letters to inform Her Majesty?]

[Or was it Denzel?]

Denzel blinked in confusion when his fellow assistants, except for Nadia and Odette, glanced at him.
